    I admire anyone who processes their own beeswax. It is a big job by itself. The soap also looks great.

    Ohhh Heather I love this one! I have wanted to do the bubble wrap thing for a long time and just have never gotten around to it. You have inspired me! It also looked like a LOT of bees wax - I was nervous for you LOL. Now all I want to do is make a beeswax soap! (I've never done that either...😍). I love your extra "honey" on top too!! Well done my friend!

      Thank you, Tammy ❤️ I use 5% bees wax, it does look like a lot but the way I process the wax it has lots of air pockets, so just a shell of wax :) It is very cold up here though right now, I'm just north of Bellingham Washington in Canada in a small cabin community and my soap room/laundry room is freezing haha. I had to soap at 130° just to have enough time to get it into the mold smoothly haha. Thank you for watching, looking forward to seeing your soap 💕

    Hello! 😊 I just stumbled across your video after making my own batch of beeswax soap! Thank you very much for sharing because it was definitely a beat trying to soap with beeswax. How high were your temps that you soaped with? Also, I refrigerated my soap to prevent gel and any over heating, so now I’m waiting for it to completely harden on the drying rack. Is it normal for beeswax soap to stay softer for a while? I used 15% in my recipe.

      Hi :) I soap at about 100°. I do not prevent gel with my soaps but with bees wax I do not force it either. I just let it do its thing. My bees wax bars always have a rubbery feel until they sit for a few weeks. Its hard to describe how they feel, rubbery is the best word I think. They will get harder as they sit :) Thank you for watching and commenting! ❤️

    Do you wait the coconut oil in room temperature? Or just adding lye after heat process? Thank you❤ love your videos

    • @BubblesByHeather
      @BubblesByHeather  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I use the bees wax you have to keep the oils warm. I didn't keep track of the temperature in this video but I would suggest soaping at a temperature that is hot enough to keep the wax fluid but below the flash point of the fragrance oil you choose to use :) Thank you for watching ❤

    Curious what the wax brings to the soap. Wouldn’t it leave wax on the skin? 😬

    • @BubblesByHeather
      @BubblesByHeather  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thank you for watching and asking the question! Yes but it is more of a moisture barrier than a thick film of wax. It helps protect skin against the cold and dry winter weather, keeping your skins moisture in :)

    I just brought some local bees wax today to make soap. What is the best temperature to soap at with the wax? Do I need to watch for a false trace? Love your mould! You soap looks amazing

      Hi :) Yes you want to soap at 110 or so. The batter will be thick so stick blend a bit then stir, then blend then stir :) Hope that helps! Thank you for watching.

    With the bees wax, I assume (terrible thing to do!) that you don’t need to add sodium lactate?

    • @BubblesByHeather

      Hi, thank you for watching, and asking the question :) I do not use SL in this soap, but I guess it depends on how much/little bees wax you choose to add. :)

      You can add bees wax to your soap recipe, add it at 5%. Make sure to run the recipe through a soap calculator :) thank you for watching!

    It would be helpful if you included the % of beeswax used and the temp of your lye and oils.
