I searched and searched and searched again till I found you. I knew the intro to the intro would be a great addition and I thank you so very much. You are an excellent teacher and an excellent guitarist.
This has been my karaoke go-to my whole life. Dad played it on the piano all the time when I was a kid. I'm about two years into seriously learning guitar, and something about the walking chords on this song really click with me. I learned the general chording from Marty, but it was missing something. The intro. You nailed it. Such a fun riff, I can't stop playing it again and again, and now the song feels complete. Thank you!
I do not have a video on the whole tune. I did put a link to the chord changes and melody in the description. I believe it says lead sheet by the link. FWIW - If ever you are interested I do offer lessons on Skype.
This is the most underrated video ever! Simply the best guide we can have ..... accurate, point by point, with tabs showed and linked.... and John looks like not only a good musician but such a good person too Just thanks John🙏 Thomas from Italy 👋🇮🇹
This is an amazing video! Unlike lots of others that just show the chord with basic strumming for beginners or melodies that are close but not as close as this one's
This is really great! I was looking for this for a long time. Thank you very much! You don't have by any chance also the jazzy interlude at the end of the song (after verse 3)? That would be great, too.
Thank you very much! The interlude you are talking about is the piano solo. That would be hard to do note for note as a finger style solo guitar thing although I entertained the idea. If you just want to do your own solo over the changes, that’s very doable. The chords to that part are - Am Am/G D/F# F /// /// /// /// Those 4 bars play 3 times then ends with G G/F G/E G/D /// /// /// /// You can just play the bass notes with your thumb and mess with chord tones and pentatonic stuff with your fingers. Hope that does you well. Working on NY State of Mind intro now. Hope that strikes your fancy. Big thanks again for commenting!
Excellent arrangement - especially the intro at the start. I haven't seen this done like this before on guitar. Thanks for posting this!! Can't seem to find the PDF link though...
Thanks for commenting! The basic chord changes for the song I believed could be found anywhere on the internet with a basic search. However I must admit, I couldn’t find any that were really correct. If I find one I’ll put the link in your thread here. If not I’ll work up a chord chart and put it here. Glad you liked it!!
@@fullyholly1 I am actually. Funny… this tune is longer than I realized and although it’s simple he changes things up a bit during the tune… more than I thought anyway. I was going to put a link for you to an existing chord chart for this but everyone I found had too much wrong stuff in it. I’m on it though. 😉
You're too smooth to move that's pretty good I really like that song you make it look so easy ..🎶🎸
Big thanks for the positive comment! I’m “ too smooth” because I played it about 500 times before I turned the camera 📸 on. 😉
Thanks for the lesson. Very nice!
I searched and searched and searched again till I found you. I knew the intro to the intro would be a great addition and I thank you so very much. You are an excellent teacher and an excellent guitarist.
