MO, I'm breaking into the scene of ham radio and your channel has fueled the preverbal Fire. The MFJ looks to be a must have and grateful for the opportunity.
I only have one MFJ product at this time, it is the MFJ-971 Portable Tuner. It was given to me by my Dad last year and I use it all the time. It is a great little antenna tuner and works very well and I am very happy with its performance.
My first antenna was an MFJ roll-up J antenna. I solely used that antenna for years until I really got into the hobby into senior year of high school. I still keep it in my portable "go kit" for it's small size and great performance.
I am just now getting into Ham radio. I have a tech license. I bought a MFJ-969 Versa tuner. I have an HF rig that I monitor on as I am studying for my General. Great youtube channel.
I've been thinking of getting the MFJ-1899T recently. The only thing that had been holding me back was not being sure how to setup the counterpoise, but seeing you use the tape measure really releaved me of that worry. So thank you! Come payday I think I'll be picking up one of the 1899s. Please keep making the videos, they are so helpful!
Loved your video on the "Portable dipole ham stick MFJ-347 mount, " purchased one straight away. What a great product this is. Thanks for highlighting high quality, affordable MFJ products that I and other HAM's didn't even know existed.
Picked up the MFJ Cub 40m QRP CW rig last December. I must say, for 1 watt, that little Cub gets out!!! Took a 66' dipole, but made me a fan of QRP for life!!
I have owned many MFJ products over past 30 years. I still use an mfj 945 antenna tuner. I would consider using this loop antenna when I go camping. I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks to "MFJ" I passed my first Exam at 100%, within one week of study. Using the MFJ Quick Study Guide, went from zero knowledge to passing with ease. Also picked up their SMA Female to SO-239 adapters and jumpers for my Baofeng GT-3TP. Now I will order their Quick Study Guide for General and Extra class, hoping to pass those at the March Club meeting.
I've had the trusty old MFJ 901b antenna tuner since I had my novice ticket in the early 2000's , it still works great and is a timeless design that I'm sure will be around for a long time to come
I've never had any issue with any MFJ product that I have ever used or owned. I actually have this unit and have made contacts with it. works very well..
i love QRP operating and enjoy experimenting with antennas. I have several MFJ products and they all work quite well for me from wattmeters to antennas. The QRP tuner you have described looks like a fun project!
Actually, the MFJ-9232 was the product I was looking at to purchase from MFJ. I haven't purchased anything from them in the past and this was going to be a test run for usability and durability. Thanks.
Thanks for your fun and informative videos on all topics ham radio related. I have owned many MFJ products and they have all worked very well for me. MFJ-945 was my first manual tuner. First 6-meter radio was MFJ-9406. When I lived in an apartment I used the MFJ-1622 apartment antenna for digital modes and use it now when camping. I'm definitely interested in portable operations and the MFJ pocket/qrp loop antenna has definitely peaked my interest as an antenna I could dedicate to it.
I use the MFJ-16010 L-match tuner all the time with my ft-817. It's great for tuning up any end fed wire, for simple portable operation. I usually carry a telescopic glass fiber pole as well, which can easily be strapped to anything.
Bought my first MFJ product, an MFJ-1270C TNC, almost 20-years-ago. Also own an MFJ-269 antenna analyzer. I currently have their MFJ-1118 power strip and MFJ-2990 vertical antenna among other items on my wish list.
My first MFJ purchase was the MFJ-40T and its VFO back in the 70s as I was a novice ham and it was my start. I made 100s of contacts with it before getting an HF transceiver. I have been a I would love to pair this loop antenna with the little qrp rig.
My first QRP radio and only one is a MFJ-9420 CW 5 watt snd 10 watt SSB radio.. Bought it used in 2005. Bought a MFJ-971 tuner and they are still active today. WK0Y.
Thanks for the loop antenna video. The best MFJ product I enjoyed was the MFJ-9420 20 mtr SSB transceiver. I had alot of fun using it in portable ops. I bet the loop antenna would make a perfect complement.
This MFJ-9232 loop, looks like the perfect solution for an antenna for my first rig since I live in an apartment. Taking my course hope to be licensed by middle of March!
Just found your channel last week. Glad I did. I lost most of my antennas in our last wind storm so this would sure help to get back on the air for my portable ops. Am still using an old MFJ tuner I bought about 15 years ago (heck most of the paint & labels are worn off now). Thanks for doing the GAW and the vid. old greybeard dino ; - ) >>
I have used several MFJ products over the years and have thouroughly enjoyed using them. I have the latest MFJ 949E and find it greatly improved over the MFJ 941D. I also have the large HF through UHF wattmetter that I got here recently and like it very much. I plan to get one of MFJ's qrp rigs in the near future so the idea of the small antenna that you showed in this contest video sounds great to me.
Have shown interest in their whip antenna MFJ-1979 as a vertical on 20M. Just wondering how they would hold up in the field. Other vendors have a known track record, yet I don't hear much about the MFJ product.
Nice video, thank you I use two of the Mfj-1979 extensible whip in a delta loop configuration antenna on a tripod , connecting them with an alligator ended wire at the top with a 4 to 1 Balun at the bottom of the v shape and Had beautiful results in portable
The only MFJ products I currently use are pairs of HamSticks on 40m and 20m. I've used them as horizontal dipoles with good results. I have also used a single HamStick with a mag mount for portable operation when my vehicle is parked. This QRP antenna is something I would likely use when travelling.
I actually us the MFJ-1432B. VERY tall dual band antenna for mobile, but it has GREAT performance. If you have a sturdy enough mount, this antenna really lets you reach out and touch someone. 73!
I have purchased only a single MFJ product,a MFJ-1979 stainless steel telescopic whip.I set this antenna up as a groundplane antenna and was lucky enough to work a station in Shanghai,China with 100w SSB-10 meters on first call.I have several mag loop antennas, and they work FB,too! Best 73 to all.
Mfj Antenna analyzer is my next purchase I am starting to get into antenna building, very fun projects just need to get the analyzer and make stuff happen.. thanks for the video
I have had several MFJ tuners over the years. They are all winners. I have an MFJ-945E manual tuner for a backup to my auto tuners. Also have the MFJ-259B Analyzer. It is a truly amazing instrument. 73 de KF6U!
I have an mfj 993 b automatic antenna tuner that I really like. it will tune 160 through 10 meters and handles 300 watts. I tune an inverted V with it and it does an excellent job.
Thanks for the video. Only products I have from MFJ is just a switching power supply for FT-817. QRP is really great and I am looking for warmer days for field operation. GL
I am currently using an MFJ 1777 on my FT-450 with an MFJ Tuner, it's a great combination but I'd sure love to be able to use my 817D out in the field with a portable loop :)
I don't own any MFJ products (just getting into Ham radio) but this looks like a cool one. Thanks for the info and opportunity. Working on getting my general now.
I do like MFJ I haver many of their products. I use the MFj-969 tuner at the home QTH. Works like a charm Also the MFJ-259B analyzer cant live without it..
Thanks for the video Eric. I also enjoyed your videos on QRP with the FT-817 and MFJ-1899t. I think that the antenna sounds like a great idea. Look forward to more interesting videos.
my first mfj product was a mfj 1020a active antenna that ive had for many years, next to my dx 440, never any problems. I am a licensed tech since last spring, working on general soon. :-) Great Contest and even greater youtube channel. :-)
I have had my license since last March. I have been living on the 2M repeater just down the road, excepting some HF at the radio room with my RACES group. This MFJ-9232 would be a step in tge direction of personal HF operation. Thanks for the videos. Really enjoy them alot. 73. K3WAL.
Thanks for the great reviews you've been putting up! I'll have to add this to my MFJ wishlist now... I'm waiting on my MFJ 1899t to arrive now that you did a video on a while back. Keep up the excellent work. 73's Byron
Cool antenna, I am sold! My fist antenna was an MFJ 1728 that I Still use for two meters. My next MFJ product will be the MFJ-1786 I like how compact it is and seems to get good reviews. Great video, and keep up the great content!
MFJ: I really find useful for portable ops with my MFJ-911H 1:1 / 1:4 current balun. Great for antenna experiments. Keep up the good work on your videos.
Hey Eric!Great video on the MFJ 9232. I used to be a military radio operator, back when PRC 25s were the standard military field radio gear. That radio was pretty complicated to learn but it was very easy to rig, not unlike the setup you used in demonstrating the MFJ unit. We used the "tape measure" antenna and when in a fixed listening post we had other easy to set up antennas with reach similar to what you were getting in the video. I recently bought a BaoFeng UV-5R+ Dual-Band 136-174/400-480 MHz FM Handheld to get into radio again. I am working to get my Technician license, studying and preparing for the exam - and I want to be able to use this radio to work up to the next level of HF gear. I think that diamond loop you used and this MFJ pocket tuner would enable me to grow in the hobby. I'm a new subscriber to your channel here on TH-cam, and I plan on watching the rest of your videos. I like the way you present the information without being so jargon heavy that I need an interpreter to keep up. This is a great source of information for me and all others who are not up to speed with the technology but are wanting to pursue interest in it. 73Steve
The only antenna I have that I didn't build myself is a MFJ-1728B, and I won it at a Hamfest! I have built a huge magnetic loop antenna and will test it soon!
Thanks for the video. The MFJ-9232 and the MFJ-1899T are both item of interest. I would like to try them both with my FT-817. I am considering getting one of these two systems.
nice! I'd like to start getting into experimenting with different antenna types (including loops) and building them. I'm looking to purchase the MFJ-259C antenna analyzer. It's a quality piece.
I am using MFJ 1788 Mag Loop, and use it mostly QRP and work the world! I also have an MFJ 16010, and can't fault it! You convinced me with your tape video! So next purchase will be an MFJ 933 ! Keep on the good work. G1HYD
I just received my Radiowavz tape measure and will be ordering the MFJ QRP Loop Tuner that I have sitting in my cart at DX Engineering waiting for me to complete the order. I am looking forward to using it with my LNR LD-5 5 watt QRP radio from the ranch in South Dakota.
So I hear ya. Really enjoy your videos to the point that you sealed my decision to get a Yaesu Ft_817ND. Along with it comes the MFJ-1899T, which, I was happy to get following your review demonstrating it. I look forward to making a loop for beach use (QTH is Sarasota) using the MFJ-9232. So no baseless 59 report here, your videos have influenced my buying decision. Glad also that we have a company like MFJ to keep Ham Radio as a producer of profitable business and keeping great brands available to our community. Next toy? 259C!
right now my main station tuner is a MFJ-949E Deluxe Versa Tuner II. getting this one would be a great compliment to my Bitx40 and may allow me to do some sessions from the local hawaii beach parks
Thanks for your reviews! I have a 450-D and becuase of your older video on the MFJ-939Y, I bought one and used it for Winter Field Day with an end fed wire - worked great! 73, AI6OU
I currently own a MFJ-936B LOOP TUNER, 5.3-30MHZ, 150W, W/CURRENT/SWR WATT. My wife bought it for me two years ago for Christmas. It is large and very bulky. It works great on a picnic table in the campground. The 9232 would go great with my LNR Mountian Topper. Just sayin.... :D
I like to use my MFJ-971 for my home made portable antennas, most are converted army antennas with a loading coil but with this little tuner I can use my ft-817 nearly always. But I have to admit that I check my antenna with my mfj-249 rather then the meter on the tuner.
I have the MFJ 1775 rotatable dipole which i have been using for a couple of years now great antenna and is only 14ft long and very low profile it even covers 6 bands
The MFJ-9232 looks great. I have used the MFJ Hamstick dipoles using the MFJ center connector. Both 40 and 80 meters work great.'By the way I also use an MFJ antenna tuner. The MFJ 259 is in my kit. Great stuff.
Probably going to get this tuner at Charlotte Hamfest in March. I am selling my heavy Go-Box with KW TS-480SAT to go lightweight with a Xiegu X-108G OUTDOOR version. As for my favorite MFJ product, just picked up a MFJ-121B Dual Atomic Clock for the Shack. When I call the nets on the weekend, I like to be right on time to the second. Nice to see UTC time as well.
I have the MFJ-4225MV switching power supply. It works great though some have noted the fan is a little loud. The fan actually isn’t loud, the vent holes are undersized which is what causes noise. I cut a hole in the side and installed a finger guard for about 50 cents. Much quieter now with even more cooling airflow. de KM0NAS.
Just got my MFJ plug and play 939i for my icom in the mail opened it up 5 minutes before I watched this. I also just got the icom all band 706mkg2. Just need my antenna to come through the mail. Im a new Ham and recent General. Its my first hf radio and I'm excited to get on the air. Josh W7DXN
Thanks for the video, I'm wanting to buy the MFJ9232 after seeing it work. Many years ago, I bought an MFJ audio tuner and have used it for many years. TNX 73 WZ0B
I've been researching a way to set up an antenna in my apartment bedroom (no outside stuff unfortunately) and was just viewing this MFJ-9232 on their website. After watching your video, this looks like a good possibility for 40 meters in a confined space ;) 73's VA3DHW (rusty Ham getting back into QRP CW).
MO, I'm breaking into the scene of ham radio and your channel has fueled the preverbal Fire. The MFJ looks to be a must have and grateful for the opportunity.
We just picked up a MFJ 269c... Now we are testing every piece of wire we can find. Fun times ahead. Thanks for the videos!

I've had real good luck with my MFJ Antenna Analyzer. It's nice to diagnose antenna issues without using the radio.
After building a counterpoise kit, I've really been enjoying the MFJ-1899T on my 817. It's extremely portable and fast to get on the air in the field.
I've had the trusty old MFJ 901b antenna tuner since I had my novice ticket in the early 2000's , it still works great and is a timeless design that I'm sure will be around for a long time to come

Any chance of a vid using the mfj qrp loop for some wspr work. Would be interested to see the results. Especially across several bands.

The MFJ-259B analyser is the best item I have bought from MFJ and that was at least ten years ago. Gonig strong and in use very often. Pete.
Pete, you are the winner of the MFJ loop. Will you email me your address and contact details please. Thanks.
Bought my first MFJ product, an MFJ-1270C TNC, almost 20-years-ago. Also own an MFJ-269 antenna analyzer. I currently have their MFJ-1118 power strip and MFJ-2990 vertical antenna among other items on my wish list.

I love my mfj tuner ! It's got my meter dummy load and tuner all in one simple package.
Going to pick up an FT 817 as soon as I can save up the cash....This looks like a great antenna for "out in the field" work😀
I really love my MFJ 249C! Best antenna tool I know of!
nice! I'd like to start getting into experimenting with different antenna types (including loops) and building them. I'm looking to purchase the MFJ-259C antenna analyzer. It's a quality piece.

You convinced me with your tape video! So next purchase will be an MFJ 933 !
Keep on the good work.

I have had great experience with my MFJ-1786 but looking to get more flexible with just a loop tuner - looking at the 9232 or the 933.
Got a couple of MFJ products. never had an issue with any of them
I just received my Radiowavz tape measure and will be ordering the MFJ QRP Loop Tuner that I have sitting in my cart at DX Engineering waiting for me to complete the order. I am looking forward to using it with my LNR LD-5 5 watt QRP radio from the ranch in South Dakota.
MFJ 259C is my next piece of test equipment, when I've got the money lol. Great giveaway, great channel. Thanks
Next toy? 259C!
I have the mfj antenna analyzer that does UHF also. It works great for building dipoles and checking to make sure they are cut to the right length.
right now my main station tuner is a MFJ-949E Deluxe Versa Tuner II. getting this one would be a great compliment to my Bitx40 and may allow me to do some sessions from the local hawaii beach parks
I use MFJ for parts/coax and the big stuff! 👍🏻
Currently using the MFJ mini dipole, have been looking at the MFJ-9232.
My last purchase was the MFJ-310S Handheld Antenna Window Mount Clip - SMA Connector. So I can use my hand held in the wife's minivan.
I use a MFJ loop antenna 1786 at my QTH and would like to try that QRP antenna on my FT-817 in the field. Enjoy your videos and keep up the good work
Just ordered an MFJ antenna. The tuner would come in handy.
Josh W7DXN
I have a really old MFJ 949 tuner, (beige case). Still works as good as new. I would sure like to get the pocket loop for SOTA.
My mfj 949e tuner bit the dust last week, but I love my older mfj 269 analyzer.
I have an 18ft MFJ aerial whip and an MFJ G5RV. Like their products a lot.
Just purchased the MFJ-557 deluxe code practice oscillator. Hope to do QRP with CW one day. The MFJ-9232 would be a nice addition.
Thanks for the video, I'm wanting to buy the MFJ9232 after seeing it work. Many years ago, I bought an MFJ audio tuner and have used it for many years. TNX 73 WZ0B
my pick is my MFJ-1788 Super Q loop. I love it and it is sort of portable.
