You have to mess with it a little. I still have it in mine. Its difficult to cast light lures, but anything with weight you can get out there! It helped me transition to more advanced bait-casters!
It's not bad at all. I had my doubts after using it the first few times, but it has become a regular part of my arsenal as the only baitcaster in it. I never used any other baitcasters before and even so, I can tell that it's not great, but I can also tell that it works well enough. I think it's better than what the price tag suggests. Edit: Also, nice vid. Liked and subscribed.
I’m getting it as my first bait caster for my birthday coming up here real soon I’ve been using spinning combos for a while but never really used any bait caster but a few times which didn’t go to great but great video hopefully it goes good 😂
I know why everyone is saying it’s a good set up for beginners now, because they won’t be able to catch anything unless it is 4 ft from your casting spot. Lmao. Idl it but I get it will help people not cast all the line but it’s just to much of a pain to cast and at 40$ it’s to pricey, you can get a 20-30$ set up and it be ready to go, no new line or nothing because I got one and changed the line on it. If you got a heavy lure it’s ok but its got to be pretty heavy to cast like you would be use to. Good video tho bud I was wondering what others thought about it thanks mate.👍🏻
Yes Sir! I agree Completely! I think it is worth the money if you switch out the line, but I agree that can be too much for some people! There is no braking system, so it makes it almost impossible to cast any light Lures/Jigs!
I can now easily reach somewhere around 15-20ft with light lures/jigs. It was fun learning, and now, doing the technique, but yeah, it requires some effort and persistence to get there. It was more of "I have to get this thing to do better" than "I know it can/should do better". I don't know anything about baitcaster and never used a real one. This is the only baitcaster I've ever used, but it can be done. I can tell that it's not the way it's supposed to be even though I haven't used any others before, but again, it can be done. I tried to channel some crazy sidearm into underarm corckscrew MLB pitchers. 🙃
Great video dude! I’m just getting started into fishing ( literally today) and I had a problem with the cast as well. It was only going maybe 3-5 feet in front of me. Can you make a video on how to set up the new line please?
For maximum casting performance, adjust the mechanical brake to the weight of the lure. Depress the thumb bar and turn the mechanical brake knob so that the lure slowly descends approximately 25 cm (“10”). If the lure does not move, the brake is too tight. If it falls to the ground the brake is too loose.
Yes, we are in the process of making a video to show you how to. You can spool it like any other regular bait caster and that helped me to be able to cast as far as I need. You also have to use heavier lures, I have not been able to cast light lures.
Yes, we are making a video that goes a little more in depth in actually how to make it cast better! It made a big difference for me when I use heavier lures. It doesn’t work well with light lures, and I have not found a solution to that.
I don't see a video on how to fine tune the internals. Perhaps you could also explain how to line this reel to bypass the anti backlash system? I would guess you just run the line straight under the anti backlash system into the loop, and out the eyelets?
@@Arikelley2008 thanks lol. I eventually just took it apart and removed the anti backlashing. I learned how to use the reel pretty fast so now I don't need it.
Yes, I replaced the line with 20-Lb Braided line, and it casts smooth and I can cast it about 100ft now. This combo casts better with heavier Lures, I have not had much success casting really light jigs and lures. That is the one downfall with this rod and reel combo!
Bro just got one and it’s earned a spot on my arsenal !!! Keep up the good work buddy love the vids !!!

Haha, Please let us know how it works out for you! Did you Buy the Abu Garcia EZ Cast Combo?
Thanks for this video! I just bought this combo and let’s see what happens 👍🏽
Just break the back lash mechanism off the reel works awesome
I did the same and installed better bearings it work really good now

I just got this and my first Baitcaster too, so shoukd I have it on or off? Cause I’m confused still lol
You want to have the anti-Backlash on. This will help you to cast further and you will not backlash!
@@FeatherNett_Outdoors for the gold bar on the reel do I put the line above it or under??

How tall is the rod
This is a 6-ft Rod! Very Compact!
I have it and it’s ok I guess just kind of a pain to cast
Yes, that’s the one problem we have seen with it. If you use it as a normal baitcaster, and use different fishing line, it does good!
@@FeatherNett_Outdoors yep it does
I can't figure it out it won't cast very far
There is a rubber washer it comes down on the side of the whit side take that off and Ther should be a rubber washer that slipped down

Please dont get this it is junk
The pole is a budget pole for sure! With a few improvements it has been worth the money! Great for a first time baitcaster user.
