    Looks amazing! I had some pre-made Egyptian fava beans from a can this morning for breakfast with roti and a couple fried eggs. It was very good but after seeing this video I'm inspired to make my own from scratch. Thank you!

    I enjoyed watching your recipe, it looks delicious. I recently heard about this dish and would like to try it. Today I bought a can of it pre-made to see if I like it, and if I do I will make it. I know canned ones can never be as good as freshly made food but it will give me an idea of what it tastes like :)

      @@CypressBayt three yrs ago I was first introduced to Ful during my visit to Egypt in 2017. I returned back twice since then and enjoyed the Ful and Koshari cooked and served by the roadside vendors. Some food is simplest and yet the most comforting at the same time; Ful is that food 😋

    Does anyone know how long foul soaked overnight would take to cook in an Instant Pot?

    • @CypressBayt
      @CypressBayt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For one cup of soaked fava beans: Cook for 8-12 minutes on high pressure in enough water to fully submerge the beans.
      For one cup of dry fava beans: Cook for 22-28 minutes on high pressure in enough water to fully submerge the beans.
      According to: instantpoteats.com/instant-pot-101-how-to-cook-legumes/
      Hope this helps 🤗

      Specifically where in Egypt I am actually unsure ! The way I have made it is very similar to those from El Mahalla. On top of the ful I have added finely chopped onion, tomatoes and some fresh herbs. The herbs used are parsley and coriander. Add fresh ingredients helps to further enhance the flavours :)
