Thought of you as soon as i saw that mural lol. Luckily Afinogenov was there, so you didn't have to riot. He was the player that got me instantly hooked on hockey, so it's important to me too. (my family was all football, i didn't really see hockey until 10th grade. I'm down in Jamestown NY so i saw a decent amount of Sabres stuff around but wasn't exposed to the game itself. Watched nearly every Sabres game since) Every time i see #10 on the ice my brain still says Tallinder
Joe said some time ago after they drafted him that the way he’s saying it is how Helenius said it was pronounced in a press conference. I can’t say for certain since half the guys in the league seem to have 3 different pronunciations depending on who you talk to. But if that’s true then I’m going to trust the guy knows how to say his own name. Haha
I think our B team is actually getting a better chance... oh they can't start opening night simply because if they are not on the flight today they'll miss.. but by dealing with the 4 games back here, they will get way more exposure than normally afforded AHL guys. And you can bet some of those will be against top lines of the other teams. If they can impress while playing against NHL players and surrounded by AHL guys... that will go a long way.
I just don’t see how Greenway fits in with this team. I have a feeling he will be a consistent scratch or traded… I think Kulich plays on the 3rd line with zucker and mcleod… I think krebs becomes our scratch and first guy in the lineup due to injury. Krebs can literally fill in anywhere in this lineup. Greenway just doesn’t have that bite or dog in him that Lindy wants. Yea he’s big but he’s a very laid back big guy
In regards to the Mural .....With all the mention of diversity nowadays , wheres Tony Mckegney? He was drafted by the Sabres in 1978 and played for them for 5 yrs from 1978 to 1983 and had two 30 goal plus seasons . Also where are Tim Horton & Jim Schoenfeld . Schoenfeld was an ex captain and an elite defensive defenseman of his era .He was a plus 60 in the 1979 - 1980 season and made the 2nd All star team.
Could absolutely hit 30 this season with the right combo of ice time and linemates. He should definitely become a 30+ goal scorer in the next couple of seasons if he doesn't make it this year though
He has a lot of skill and speed, but he is gonna need a year or two to bulk up before he is ready for the NHL imo, he is only 20 years old still so he's got time.
Probably the prospect tournament, they sell a bunch of different sabres hats you can't find anywhere else for 15 dollars a piece during the Sabres games during the tournament, your gonna have to wait till next year now and they might not have that one again. Or he made it himself, its pretty basic black on.
I love that fourth line
Absolutely....
I love the bottom 6 now.
Zach Benson reminds me more and more of Daniel Briere; small player but what hustle that little dynamo has!
Don Edwards/Bob Sauve? 1980 combo Vezina winners

Joe - for the love of all that is holy - if Helenius is going to be your top guy to watch...get the name right. Hell-en-ee-us

Where's Jim Schoenfeld jerry korab
OMG right!!! Absolutely gotta have Korab.

The kid is a dawg
You cant teach WILL, you either have the fight and nasty in you or you dont
Future Sabres Captain if we didn't have Dahlin already.
Greenway is expendable in favor of Kulich if Kulich takes another inch of a step forward in the next few games. Hopefully
That’s Don Edwards not Crozer
💯
If you're going to have Tom Barasso then you should've had Marty Biron too.

On serious note how do you project Benson season ? 25 goals ? 30 ??? Curious on what you think.

Vancouver fans thought Rathbone was the next Hughes
Baker liked Ostlund a lot

Go Sabres , where did you get your hat? Want to purchase one.

Or tenure legend Christian Ehrhoff? He's been paid by the Sabres since 2011 and is still going! 😂
He’s been paid for a few years
hot take. the Slug jersey is sooooooooooo overhated
