My wife has a glass rolling pin like the one you bought. She fills it with ice cubes to roll out dough that has butter chunks in it. That old Chevy sedan is the pick of the litter. The 2-tone green paint does it for me.

The glass rolling pin was filled with cold water to roll out dough. I have about a dozen filled with vintage marbles in wine rack display.
