Though I was initially excited about the inclusion of this old fashioned bad guy, the lack of wings and complete screw job on the hands and lack of torso twist make this guy a for sure pass for me. I was able to get the shield on the arm by warming both glove pieces in water and popping them off. Then I put the larger loop over the forearm, popped the wrist on, put the smaller loop over the wrist and popped the fist back. Looks perfect as long as you aren't looking for the hand to be closed on the strap.
It'll be on clearance in walmart and targets by the end of the summer. They rerelease this with the wings with different green colors for a higher price
The problem with that is if they did include wings and a bow and quiver the price would probably have been higher since they don’t have any existing tooling needed to reuse for wings and the bow and quiver since the 12 Inch line never got Hawkeye or Wasp
I know Hasbro takes a lot of flack, but this is one that really warrants it. This is legitimately one of their worst offerings in all of Marvel Legends IMO. Reusing this old 12 inch Captain America figure is pretty much the absolute laziest route they could have taken. Those 12 Legends were awesome for what they were and enjoyed many of them, but they weren’t meant for this. And for a character that many people have needed and a first timer in the line, and for $70+ it’s not okay. And BTW, the original figures has interchangeable hands, but I guess that just too much to ask for these days 😒
My same 12 inch Cap ended up in my kids toy chest and the last time I pulled him out of there, that same hand was missing. So weird! I feel like the Super Adaptoid is definitely overpriced. Maybe if it had the wings, bow/arrow/quiver, and a few other accessories the price would be a little more justifiable.
I'll eventually get this one down the line if it goes on sale the 12 inch line was good just no villains 1 iron man 2 captain America 3 Thor 4 daredevil 5 tiger stripe wolverine 6 MCU black panther 7 spiderman 8 black costume spiderman 9 Deadpool 10 x force Deadpool 11 weapon x Deadpool 12 fourteen inch hulk I think that's all 🤔
I agree on Hasbro being extremely lazy on this release, however one way to I guess work the shield on the left arm is remove the bigger strap when your going to place it on the arm and before you slide it in the arm , remove the fist and insert the smaller strap into the glove area and then re insert the fist. Holds it decently enough so it can also wield Mjolnir.
At its price point, it's like. Do I get this or get a SHF/Mafex I've been eyeballing? I'm not attached to the character so it was easy to pass on. But then it was easy to pass on because I sure nothing interesting for its price point. Hasbro is really having a hard time making a product that looks like it's worth as much or more then it's MSRP(Looks like, doesn't matter if it cost them 10 cents to make).
Been checking every day for a review, its been in my pile of loot for a week, so thanks, oddly i was expecting very low opinion in a review, so now I'm enthused. BBTS been getting a ton of stuff in earlier than expected so my unboxings are stacked very high, didn't know you lived in CA too, have a good vacation
Yeah, I don't mind the reuse of a mold. It's smart on Hasbro's part since Super Adaptoid's had mostly that Cap look in the Silver Age books. Plus you get new stuff, not just a straight mold copy. You get new head sculpt, new forearm, new calf/leg w/booths, 2 GREAT accessories (Mjolnir and Cap Shield) BUT...the draw back again is NOT the reuse mold, it's missing Hawkeye's bow and quiver and of course Wasp's wings. All like you said. For $70, should've had those extra accessories.

This shit is lazy I understand using the 12”figure they should use this Icon line for there cosmic figures like Stranger and Eternity living tribunal ,and yes your right he’s missing the Wasp wings, Hawkeye’s Bow and Arrow and Quiver, they should have giving him Iron man’s Gauntlets and boots and thrown in Black widow wrist blasters, Visions gem in the forehead, Black Panther claws on his gauntlets this is just terribly lazy
It'll look much better with 1:18 Marvel Universe figures. The left hand really sucks though. I guess you can use Quake Hold to keep the shield on. I can make wings for it,bi suppose, but for the money, it REALLY should have the wings and alternate hands. It's kinda a shelf statue more than an "action" figure, but I still want it once the price becomes more reasonable.
Just got it from BBTS for like $45. Even at that price it still feels like I paid a bit too much. Extra hands would've gone a long way, but the missing Hawkeye quiver and Wasp wings really make this a miss. Still, an imposing figure with 6" ML characters.
If I was good at customizing, I'd pick him up for sure. I am absolutely not good at anything more than pop and swap though so for now I have to pass. If it goes on sale I'll pick him up though I think. Great review!
Just got this on sale, 35%. Didn't realize just how lazy they were with this one. The figure can't even properly hold its own sheild. I feel bad for anyone that paid full price.
This figure should have more colors and better paints and more robot like rather than organic clothes I know this is somewhat a comic origin design but he look like fan cosplayer from a universe where green is the only colour

From what I've read it can become a perfect copy of someone and copy their powers. It's size is variable too, so it could be human sized or giant. A flaw is it turns green when it tries to copy multiple people and powers. I think it can be overloaded if it tries to copy more than a certain number, eight I think. The sculpt on the figure looks pretty good but the lack of hand options and hindered articulation are a turn off. Oh and the absurd price for an old mould, with some new bits.
Hasbro is partially to blame because they knew this could happen, but went windowless anyway, but how heartless does one have to be to do this? Do you not give a crap about your fellow collectors at all? Do you have no conscience?

I think the problem with the Legends 12" line, aside from the price, was its lack of villains.

$70 is super pricey. Even with inflation, this has a higher price proportionally when compared to the price increase for regular legends.

Just got this 5 min ago at ollies. Im in the parki glot. Pop the hand and the glove and pop the shield on and put glove and hand back on.
Yeah I kinda find it hard to put the shield on they should have made instruction menu so we can know how
PROS : Good size choice, Good Coloration, Classic Look.
CONS:Awkward shield set up 🤦♂️, No Iconic Open-Hand to swap 🤧, No Wingz, No Bow💩

BBTS charges a flat fee of like 4 or 5 dollars, don't say they overcharge because you want quicker shipping. That's dishonest.
They charge a higher cost for their shipping than the standard cost direct from usps on priority and first-class so yes they overcharge on shipping.
And on top of that every business gets a discounted rate. Most places pass those savings into their customers. BBTS does not
