This sounds way better than newer keyboards , you can tell engineers back in the day used to work very hard to get the best quality clear samples and patches ,newer keyboards just filled with raw like sounds and I have to go and edit each sound to make it sounds better. nice video thanks for sharing.

Awesome. I also have the SY99 and the MK1 DX7 - currently playing about with loading sound libraries onto the SY99 that are all kinds of brilliant, including the iconic DX7 slap bass patches that were used in so many songs in the 80's. I am NEVER going to sell these synths.
Tenho um SY-22 e não abro mão dele do meu set nunca!! Apesar de só ter o SY de igual, o SY-22 tem aqueles timbres metálicos maravilhosos. Esse SY-99 tem os melhores EPS que já vi. Bela máquina!!

@@FernandoPetryBASS you are totally wrong. its not because they can play... even people who can play wont use this synth s their main tool. 1. this sounds scream " im stuck in the 90s" . if you make music with this sounds for film , institutional video , advertising, or your own songs ... you will get inmediate rejection. this sounds are to be used in conjunction with other stuff, by themselves ... the fake sax and the fake trumpets are major offenders. the fake electric guitar sounds terrible. the synth sounds are kind of cool. 2. yes, people use vsts, cheaper convenient and way more flexible.

By fusion bands and smooth jazz artists like Candy Dulfer. The keyboard player of the japanese fusion band "Dimension" used his SY99 from 1992 until very recently when he replaced it with a Montage. But I'm sure he still uses some sounds from the SY99 because some sounds are iconic.

Mas também hoje só tem worship nas igrejas( música fraca de 4 acordes mal tocados). Mas vc e fera irmão, pra mim é um incentivo ver sua bela técnica nessas belas máquinas.
O som e gordo e tem corpo porque não usavam componentes eletrônicos SMD no pré amplificador, ja os teclados do seculo 21 apesar de ter amostras melhores mas para baixar custos usam muitos componeres eletrônicos SMDs nas placas de pré ai o som sai magro sem corpo nas linhas de entrada e media.

Nice and nostalgic. But a cheap MODX slays the old beast SY99 in a jump. Just by the multitude of simultaneously playable parts, the controller variety, the gigantic filter and effect selection and the combination possibility with AWM2.

It's been superceded now but the quality of these pianos is a pretty huge leap forward from its predecessor the DX7.

Teclado clássico, não fez tanto sucesso como o Roland XP-80, mas é incomparável nos pianos do tipo FM.
Com certeza !os EPS são imbatíveis
Sy99 e muito anterior ao xp80 que já era uma evolução do JV1000, D70 era um dos seus concorrentes na época.
