      It would be great to do that for all of them, but its not always possible - plus if its the same section of song being played on both it cant be the music as to the differences heard - so in a way doing both is ideal :)
      Thanks

    Thank you for putting this video together. I was amazed at how different the sound was. Enough that I invested in a set of Gaia III, and after listening to them for the last few hours, I can't say I am disappointed. I am running the Focal K2 Aria 926 and the sound before is was good, but adding the Gaia III has completely transformed the sound.

    I use speaker stands with spikes. To isolate l used anti vibration rubber pads, which l thought were a great addition. Yesterday l upgraded by adding the GAIA III to the speaker stands. The improvement in the openness and clarity of the Wharfedale jade One speakers is an absolute joy. I was thinking of buying new speakers, but adding the GAIA’s have allowed me to enjoy the speakers for a little longer at least As said these are a necessity.

    Thanks for putting this up! As a recommendation, for A/B demos it's okay to do longer play throughs, but it's not necessarily effective. Our ears get used to a sound after around three seconds. As such, what I think tends to work better is a longer play through (say 10 seconds or so) and then follow it with three second back to back play throughs of the exact same material. Doing it this way makes the differences (or lack thereof) readily apparent.

    The highs seem clearer with slightly more separation and the bass is more quick and controlled. Slight differences, but pretty amazing from a small change. The KEFs are sweet. Thanks for the song selection (Karen Souza, I'm a sucker for female vocals). I really like a few of them and will be purchasing soon. :)

Even in this youtube video I can tell the difference, I bet in person it is even more dramatic. it's absolutely amazing how someone can change speaker isolators without moving the respective speaker boxes from their places. They don't move a milimeter at all! It's easy to confirm that by watching the video frame by frame. And as a video editor I have a terrible defect, a professional defect. I always end up carefully watching any video or image. And from here I shall say no more. Each one must draw their conclusions.

    I have had gaia 3 installed on my monitor audio silver 300 ( Originally I had my speakers on factory included spikes, sitting on furniture gliders). Every time I listen, I am blown away how cleaned up the sound is. I literally hear things I hadn't before in songs. A few songs that I am very familiar with, I was for the first time hearing the bass sound like a bass. Vocals are more airy and natural, and sound completely free of the instruments. It's hard to believe a product like this can have such a big impact, without first hand experiencing it.

    • @hushpuppykl
      @hushpuppykl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Raymond Taveras ... not to be a naysayer (am keeping an objective and open mind) but let’s look at it this way.
      High end speaker manufacturers do not make all their own components. They source them. Well ... crossover is usually their own.
      Let’s take a look at speakers such as say the Kharma Exquisite Classique. They cost well over $100k. Just solid conical shaped spiked outriggers. Nothing fancy.
      If ... the big if ... these Gaia can make such a difference, why would such high end speaker manufacturers not bother to throw them in as it will be pittance to them?
      Not trying to diss you but if there are no measurements then it’s unsafe to say it works.
      In such tests there are too many factors that can cause the difference. Way too many.
      Measurements are easy to obtain. Does not cost an arm and a leg at all.
      If you believe that vibrations that causes minuscule movement will affect sound, then imagine is the speakers were set differently by a couple of mm only.
      Height, tilt and angle on the lateral plane. Each just a couple of mm off will create a huge difference if your statement on vibration is accepted as correct.
      There is no way the speakers can be installed back in the exact position when it’s done with masking tape only. No way.
      Listening to the comparison, there is hardly much difference with Karen Souza’s track. On the second track the volume level seems louder with the Gaia track. It’s very obvious. Listen to the guitars. The mid range is more pronounced. The dampening pucks ain’t gonna be able to make that much difference to the mid range. It’s potentially the volume.
      Almost the same is on Track 3. Not so on Track 4 BUT Tracks 3, 4 and even the guitar track with male vocals with Gaia has a buzz on the right channel. Did you notice that? So you have an issue now.
      Please ... am not saying this is snake oil but until the test is confirmed as 100% similar in set up, it’s inconclusive.
      Personally, I’m about to purchase the Gaia so I’m not a hobbyist that is here to bust myth. I wanna get them bcos they look good and it will keep my floor in better shape.

    • @hushpuppykl
      @hushpuppykl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Raymond Taveras ... see the quotes from reviews:
      “With every track, I consistently heard tighter bass and lower midrange, with greater focus and depth.” - Home Theater Review
      “Midrange sounds gained a little fluidity and the vocalists had better air and space around them allowing for finer venue acoustics to come through from the recorded material. The overall transparency of the midrange was wonderful with more perceived structure to depth and overall three dimensionality front to back.” - Hifi Pig
      “I heard more of the music and less of the speaker. Not only that-instruments and voices were more precisely defined on the soundstage, which itself was wider and higher.” - Stereophile
      None hear the mid range change so dramatically as here. Can they all be wrong?

  • @bonsai03449
    @bonsai03449 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That's crazy... trying to wrap my head around the difference in sound between the two. Did you compensate for any height difference, when the Gaias were on? Maybe the tweeters were more on-axis when raised a bit? Either way, that's not a subtle difference in sound quality. Wow.

    • @stepseldinski
      @stepseldinski 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just wanted to write the same thing. My Jet5 AMTs are very sensitive to listening position hight. And the only thing that changes is the distance to the ground. If that would be causing such „problems“, the highly paid engineers of 20k speakers would do some major mistakes ;)
      Not every floor is resonating under the speaker. And beside that the pressure of your music in the room stays the same even in that few cm lifted position. 🤷‍♂️
      By the way. My neighbor has som 70kg speakers on Gaia 1. He transmits alot of energy into the house structure. Those Gaias are not isolating at all! I can hear everything from 30 til about 250 Hz out of the house walls (steel beton) . And I am two levels under him.

    Damn it. Now I have to save up for four sets (speakers and two subwoofers). I assume these will do wonders on subs as well? My subs' rubber feet squeak against the floor on slightly higher volumes so i placed some soft fabric underneath to avoid that, but i guess the Gaia's will obviously take it to the next level or two.

    Should supply an 8 piece set, possibly at a discount. The Giai iii costs $500. for 2 speakers , and $700 if they weigh a bit more. I know that they should work because I placed 4 old sorbethane pucks under 1 of my speakers and the bass definition improved a lot. I’m trying to find something more economical. $700 dollars just seems overpriced for 8 rubber pucks, fancy as they are.

      Calaf_72 if you think about it, the GAIA can't make a difference to only select music if it makes a difference to some it makes tgat difference to it all.
      If your not hearing it so obviously at times it just shows it's not taking anything away that they shouldn't.
      They make a very big diffeence and in a way I haven't been able to achieve from all the best kit, acoustics, dsp, mains condtioning etc.
      They do something the kit can't and are therefore indespensible really :)

      It's true, there is an effect on all music and all systems. You don't have to have a super expensive system to benefit either. Bear in mind, the GAIA III (rated up to 32kg) is £199 a set - £50 per foot. The effect can be more pronounced on some music but this is related to the recording - sound stage, image, detail and clarity already there. GAIA helps the system fully resolve what's there in the first place.

    I have a question.
    In what is a hugely competitive industry, where the smallest edges and advantages count for everything, if adding these isolation feet to the speakers made any audible difference, why wouldn’t the speaker companies redesign their cabinets or supply something similar with the speakers? To my knowledge there isn’t a single speaker company that makes or sells specialist isolation feet as an add on or extra.
