A remix of a remix? Can he do that?! Oh yes, it's been a while since this gem of a remix. Dark World was my second remix ever actually, and still by far my most popular. Honestly, I'm kinda surprised it's done so well. It wasn't my best work in my opinion and it's quite dated now! It's been 8 years, and now that I'm going to VGMCon (Oops, All Zelda!) I thought it was about time to give it a little more love. While I was making this I actually impressed myself with how many ideas I still like from back then. It was rough around the edges, but it really had some great moments. I wanted to speed it up a little, 128 bpm really let's the complextro genre shine I think. I also wanted more variation in the track, because the old one was a little repetitive. This redux takes you on a wild journey, and I'm excited for everyone to hear it! Thank U all for supporting me over all these years. I'm gonna keep going as long as I can!

Holy heck, man, this is just wild. It must have been daunting, to approach a piece that's already embedded in history as a truly legendary remix in the VGM community... and to improve upon it in every way, while keeping the essence of the original intact. All the props in the world to you for that! And I'm happy to see that this remix has already been so well-received so far!
This remix is so chock-full of sonic goodness, ear candy, and sound details that it feels like each measure is uniquely crafted to give the listener new things to listen for in literally each second of the remix. Seriously, to have a piece that's nearly 5 minutes this long with no verbatim repeats or long-lasting segments takes massive effort and skill. And it has awesome continuity, too, with a superb variety of transitions and energy shifts that feel right. One of my favorite details in the remix is at 2:15, where there's this really satisfying pre-shifted clap that gets truncated with some sub-bass rumbling afterwards. It's such a unique sound that I've never heard before, and it fits perfectly right after that butter-smooth segue into the OG Dark World music clip.
And as always, absolutely masterful use of SFX throughout - that really feels like a hallmark of your style. Speaking of which, I don't think there's a single remixer out there who has a sound like yours, and you've developed a genuine trademark sound style, which is something that I think every remixer aspires to do. It's been hugely influential for many people (myself included), and it's heartening to see that your passion for remixing VGM and engaging with the community has only grown after all these years - and this remix and its debut at VGM Con is testament to that!

Didn't expect it to happen, but his absolutely dethroned Song of Storms. The amount of new elements when compared to the original keeps increasing throughout the song in a very natural way, which keeps you hooked throughout the entire thing, and none of it takes away from the original remix. Amazing work as always, Vector.

You're an absolute madman. I still love the original remix to this day and didn't really think it could get any better, without sounding pretty different. But you showed me once more that you surely can do it. I'm still loving some parts of the original a teeny tiny bit better, but other parts really got cranked up to 11 and beyond! Made me really question myself how's that even possible...

The original is probably still my favorite out of the two because I like the more mellow style of it, it's something I can vibe to- BUT IF I WANT TO ABSOLUTELY RAVE, NOW I HAVE THAT OPTION TOO. ABSOLUTELY AMAZIMG WORK, VECTOR - U HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. (I'm sorry that was bad 😂)
