I'd love to see a short video where you put all these videos together and play a short example game. One of two scenes, just for a better example of how the all come together. Please, as I'm still a bit confused with it all.
just a scenario suitable for solo (developed for a TFT adventure but any system would work: Tap here to write TFT scenario “as you start to fall asleep, you become vaguely aware that you are beginning to dream. as you become enveloped by it, you find yourself standing alongside several strangers on a grassy knoll. as you look down, you see a small cottage nestled in an open wooded area. leading from the cottage are two stone paths, one approaching a circular flower garden; the other leading to a birdbath half hidden by one of the corners of the cottage. birds come and go from the wooded areas, frequently landing on the bird bath. in the center of the circular garden is a flowering vine entwined around a knurled staff and off to one side, a tree overshadowing the garden where a young woman is meticulously tending it. “suddenly this tranquil scene shatters like glass. the woman abruptly stops what she is doing. moving quickly to the center of the garden she grabs the knurled staff. turning her head, she looks directly at you. in the background, a cat also comes into view turning its attention towards her as she begins speaking to you; her lips are moving, but the words she is speaking are soundless. while she is speaking, there’s an awareness of something not quite tangible surrounding you; you feel compelled to continue staring intently into her eyes as she continues speaking. this compulsion immediately dissipates as she turns toward the cottage. in the background near the birdbath, what appears to be an ethereal object emerges from the woods moving toward the bird bath. the young woman turns looking at it; and than back to you; you can once again sense that she is communicating with you and you sense that there is a need of assistance. the impression that you’ve felt drawn to, jolts you awake, sweating! going about your daily activities for the next several weeks, this dream continues to haunt you. recently, flashes of the strangers that had been standing next to you wakes you up every night, becoming more and more prevalent. the location that had apparently been imprinted by the woman, begins to overlap with the strangers that have been interrupting your dreams. finally; you feel desperate to resolve this dream in hopes that it will go away. you feel compelled to find this location. preparing for the quest, you set about gathering the necessary items that will be needed. as you proceed with your travels, you keep running into individuals that recognize you, and you recognize them, since each of them is one of the strangers in your dream. eventually the whole group that you had envisioned has joined with you. while talking to each other, you find that each member of your group had the exact same dream, including the merging of the vision of the cottage, woman and strangers. as you continue the journey, you run into a number of encounters some good, and many quite bad. however, despite any efforts to deviate far from the path, the path meanders through heavy forest, extended marshes and steep rock formations making it difficult to travel through. dispite these difficulties, in the distance, there is a verdant grassy field where this path seems to have dwindled off to nothing. the compulsive sensation that all of you have experienced suddenly becomes overwhelming. as you walk out onto this field, the knoll of your dreams reveals itself. at the crest of this knoll , you observe the cottage. you know that it’s the one in your dreams; however, the garden is overgrown with weeds, shutters are hanging haphazardly on the cottage, the fruit tree has shriveled leaves and the staff that had been in the center of the garden is missing. the vine that had been on the staff could now be seen wrapped around the tree with rotting gourds hanging from it. the bird feeder that you had seen in the vision was now crumbled; and no birds of any kind are present, unlike what you remember in your dream. further, what was once an open woods has become a dark and foreboding tangled forest. all of you suspect that the eathereal object that was in the dream may have been tied somehow to what you and the companions saw.
I’d be very interested in your opinion of Technoir’s ‘transmissions’ and plot nodes matrix. It involves a 6x6 table (matrix) and the generation of plot nodes onto a blank page. You then interpret those into an adventure. And it continues on that way, evolving scenes.
Is it okay to use adventure crafter only when playing. Also if I do like mixing Adventure Crafter with the other supplements, how to mix Adventure crafter and Location Crafter in playing?
Having used (and I love it) TAC I understood all of the mechanics you explained, but someone with no experience with TAC might still be a little confused. Another awesome video btw.
Perhaps a video on PC and NPC conversation and tools for generating conversations.
