Laura Hall doesn’t get nearly enough credit as she deserves, the singers have a tough job creating lyrics on the spot but Laura improvises music on the spot to any style she is given it’s genius and sheer talent combined.
Yes, but actually no. She told on her channel ( @laurahall2306 ) a couple times - they jammed a bit before recordings. Wayne, Ryan and Colin had at least general idea what music they might expect.
They know what music she can play and what artists the guys can perform as, and I would imagine that they rehearse the styles that they do. Obviously there would be no point Ryan or Colin suggesting a genre or artists that Wayne or Laura had never heard of because it wouldn't work.
Okay kids gather round. This is what I heard. There's a video with Colin mochrie and Brad Sherwood. They were doing an interview. They said the music style is already pre-picked, but the guys just go off the fly. But yeah you're right, Linda does not get enough credit for her talent. Same with the rockim' guitar chick. She was doing some hard grunge, as Wayne was throwing down. When I'm not feeling jolly this is what I watch to make me laugh. And when you can laugh loudly by yourself, you know it's funny.😅
Obviously Wayne is a master and did amazing songs, but one of my favorite things is how he would always reference earlier bits and banter so seamlessly. Colin changing pronunciation on "route" is a good example.
the route pronunciation is different in Canada and other english speaking countries such as here in Australia, so it was a. ice little accidental bit of comedy :)
He's talent incarnate and not only stands his own when improvising but outshines Colin and maybe even Ryan during the singing games. I love Ryan's songs though he kills me and his voice is amazing.

I just watched the whole 6 hour video :D lol They were ALL great at it, but I really think Brad by himself seriously knocked it out of the park. Wayne just out shined everybody when to came to any music games lol Crazy thing is, I believe it was Brad and Chip that are real life "rock stars" too lol. Wayne Brady and Laura Hall need so much more credit. Wayne had musical improv talent and Laura had the physical musical improv talent. I love Ryan and Colin, but Wayne and Laura need more recognition
May be the best WLIIA game, in my opinion of course. Got the classic Colin and Ryan banter, alongside great comedic songs with the ultra talented Wayne. Plus, the Arctic tern and tapioca scenes are just absolute classics.
5:20 the "route" joke. I am UK and route is pronounced how Colin said it (root). Is that how Canadians pronounce it (row-t), or did he confuse route and root? 😅 I'm just curious as a Brit who would say route and root the same. 😅
I think that's Sideways Scene, which I only think I first saw during the Aisha Tyler shows. I don't remember seeing Ryan ever play it though. His height probably had something to do with it.

Not only does she improvise the music to the genre they pick, she also adjusts on the fly to match Wayne or whoever else is singing. So impressive
