      @BenjaminGessel 10 ปีที่แล้ว +62

      Well, as I have heard from fighters here and there, the only guys that can take pretty hard blows like this are either BIG guys (I mean, big boned, naturally large frames, etc.), or guys that have well developed abs, etc. I'm sure others can, but, question is, HOW MANY blows can you take-I mean, fairly hard blows in the chest, stomach, etc.? Bruce Lee believed that no one should do any serious sparring until the abs were more well developed. I'll take his word for it. Until then-gotta get in better shape, more flexibility, develop more strength, speed, power, technique, etc.

    Have trained a few times with Systema folks in my area (very nice people). They demo'd the same techniques on me - very impressive - it hurt. Then we sparred - suddenly the forceful strikes disappeared since I was no longer standing there like a human punching bag. My movement in and out, changing angles, stuffing their strikes, all totally nullified their actual fighting ability. The teacher actually told me I was being too competitive... so ended my brief intro to this "art."

      You make judgments with no real evidence. One school or a person? Don't be in such a hurry until you test your level at any intensity you choose with , Mikael or Vladimir. I spend a few seminars and they can do it. Judging on one experience presupposes they are all the same. No. Find o ut by training with one of them. Then you have perspective.

      I got the explanation when i watched "Hayate the Combat Butler: I can't take my eyes off you". More specifically, the episode where one of the characters has a sister and said "if you wanna be my sister you must have a talent like me."'
      If so, I still do not get what the anime series has to do with the rest of your post. Is an action anime really a good source of information about a real life martial art? Or maybe you are implicating that Systema is an entirely fictional martial art? ;)

    It seems to me that they are doing what a bullfighter does.... give the attacker a false target and then move it. A straight punch delivers its maximum force in a very narrow distance... if you move the target back three inches beyond where the punch is focused, there is very little force left.
    These guys seem to be pushing their stomach forward a little, and then when the punch is thrown, they retract their stomach, and the result is that the punch connects to their body after it has already passed its effective range. There is much less force remaining.
    I suspect this would not work against a hook, or a fighter who moved forward and punches through the target.

      +Jamie Campos I agree with your point, but I also don't believe all they do is evade. This is simply a technique to help you while you're also doing your own strikes or such. Combined with your own style of striking, this could be useful to know. For example, these street fighters knowing what they know, but then also learning how to do this.

    My original background is MMA. I trained seriously for 4 years time consistently and competing at amateur events. I won 4 fights in MMA class 'C' format and lost 2. I took part in 5 grappling competitions.
    I thought that this is not real, but I on sunday I had opportunity to test it. I went for Systema Seminar with Jamie Robson and when the punches people mock out this video were presented on his friend, I volunteered to test and I can tell I never seen anyone produce that kind force from such small distance.
    Those small punches are pretty much equal to knockout punches and there 3 types
    1 - You can feel on Your tissue
    2 - You will in the muscle
    3 - I felt in my internal organs (pretty insane feeling)
    I only got once kneed in my stomach to feel something similar.
    Is Systema the answer for efficient self defense for everyone? I think not - it takes a lot of years of practice to develop their techniques, breathing technique and to apply it.
    Is it better than my current techniques, taken from freestyle wrestling, boxing, thai boxing, bjj ? It is without a shadow of a doubt.
    In my opinion Russian Systema is something worth spending time on

My instructor was taught by both Master Vasiliev and by Master Ryabko.

    just never stop breathing- the stronger the force (physically or mentally) the faster the breathing (nose in _ mouth out)- and it works really well especially when confronting fears like spiders, hights, needles... just concentrate on constant breathing and you will become more focused and less stressed.

  • @aimanghazi7043

And then for some reason, when you punch me in the head with a crappy bicep curl it does nothing. Then i show you my manly upper body strength by tossing you away. Used to use it as a pub trick XP
      OBVIOUSLY if you engineer a situation where you know you can get hit and ignore it completely, you'll... get hit and ignore it completely. But hey, without violating the rules of their 'test', i volunteer to grab the instructor behind the head/neck and haymaker/uppercut him in the chest/solar-plexus as hard as i can several times and see how his relaxed breathing techniques work under pressure. Those body punches they were 'overcoming' were absolutely pathetic.

One thing I tell people is, if you see a group of thugs walking towards you start doing cartwheels and dancing like john travolta, this will make you appear to have a mental disorder and may deter your would be assailants. If that doesn't work grab a large object like a trash can and raise it above your head, this gives your attackers the impression your bigger than you really are ,this works in the wild so you may try this if you are cornered. You've heard the saying to never judge a book by its cover ? Well it's true, I'm not sure I see that instructor in the UFC but against the vast majority of the population someone that understands angles. Doesn't waste any energy and just might surprise you with his speed and effectiveness. I've (years ago) trained with a lot of different body types and a skilled fighter with some weight on you can be a real problem. He clearly understood pressure points and that upward angled blow to the solar plexus didn't seem like much I promise it'll jack you up. It causes your diaphragm to go into spasms. Most people go to the ground and flop around like a fish out of water. Get with a buddy and try it not hard just work on that angle you'll know when you get it right lol.

    • @djellala
      @djellala 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not8upwthit i am not judging this guy or another guy. with his low hands believe me he cant stand few seconds iif he was in the ring. i am not saying he is fat or big no. but what i am saying is demonstration is a demonstration. this big fat student shows that he is always hurt and have pain when his master punch him but with other guy he shows nothing. if this student was hit by a professional martial artist i dont think he will stay on his feet.
      i always criticize people who shows no respect to the public. in general those who demonstrate skills are always with their students. for me if someone demonstrates something true must have a third party. i mean martial artist from different styles and well show us what you got.
      any technique should be tested with equal martial artist strength.
      for physical fitness, i would like to see someone who is fit to teach. being big and fat is abnormal because someone cant even control his body muscles. i would like to see some athletic people who demonstrate things. martial art is a healthy sport.
      hope that helps and thanks for sharing.

    • @not8upwthit

      Lol no arguments any that steps into the ring had better be protecting their head. The main thing I noticed was the master seemed pretty adept at striking pressure points. I agree with you that it'd be much more interesting for hem to test his skills against another master martial artist. This demonstration against the "street fighters" that pretty much just went along wasn't as impressive. I did notice they were in much better physical condition. It goes back in this instance IMO they were simply demonstrating the effect of simple strikes to pressure points and one of his students used some movement and the guy couldn't really hit him. The only instructors I've ever worked with were in excellent shape, but we did a lot of grappling. I can't see any of these guys doing that.
      Thank you for your response and best of luck to you!

    does this breathing technique stop you getting 'winded' as in when someone punches you in the upper stomach and you loose the ability to breath temporarily ? winding someone really really messes them up but there is a way to recover from it, by tilting the head upwards / backwards although this will allow your opponent to destroy you while you recover breathing ...

  • @OctavioAraujo

    I hope you people are aware that training for combat fighting is different from MMA. I don't take away anything from a MMA fighter but going one on one in the ring is a totally different from fighting in the battlefield which has no ref or rules. In a street fight you can be guaranteed that your opponent friend will jump in if his friend is getting his ass whipped by you.

      He's right. If you go to the floor and try for something like an arm bar in any real fight, someone is going to stomp your head. You don't think you can fight MMA style, ring fighting style, in a street fight, do you?

    • @OctavioAraujo
      @OctavioAraujo 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @Nebukadnezzer
      @Nebukadnezzer 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** It seems that they're under the impression that MMA fighters don't *know* how to use certain techniques, even though they're not *allowed* to use them. MMA incorporates any fighting style, including 'street fighting', as long as it's effective. However, lethal techniques - such as striking the back of the head or spinal cord - are not allowed inside the octagon.

      taffwob well the point is that absorbing punches is mostly about breathing and relaxation here so if those dart players have enough control over their body they will be able to do that

    What everyone is failing to see from this video is that by relaxing the muscles and using proper breathing techniques, they are absorbing the impact which is extremely crucial in a fight. Systema is all about taking blows and making the guy who dished it out seem like a little girl throwing punches. Not to mention systema has great technique when it comes to striking to.
