  • Hello everyone, welcome back/to my channel!
    This is everything I have got for university as a year 1 student - I added that on the end so no one judges me for any mistakes I have made haha! Please let me know if there's anything else you would suggest, from your own experience or also as a fresher - there are lots of things I am taking from home that aren't in the video, so some suggestions I may already have.
    Make sure to subscribe to stay up to date with my move in day and overall university journey!

    The things you bought are so nice!! only thing I would say is to double check whether or not your uni allows plug in fairy lights, you might have already checked but I was super disappointed to find out that my uni doesn't allow them in halls :(

      Thank you so much!! but omg whattt?! I didn't even know that was a thing! I remember looking near the start and I think it just said candles and mini fridges weren't allowed but I will double check because that's so sad otherwise :( it makes every room cuter!

    I have a 3/4 bed and they told us to buy double fitted sheets because they fit better so your sheets should be fine!

    tips for youtube, from a viewers perspective:
    - change your username, when i rec you too my friends its hard to tell them what your channel is called if i can't pronounce it.
    - your vids are good, theyre entertaining but try and find a niche
    - grow a presence on other social media, i would say tiktok is probably best
    - use catchier titles so your vids are easier to find eg ' BACK TO UNI HAUL ( first year student )
    dont want to be condescending but this video was so good and i highkey want you to become famous, you deserve it lol

      Thank you so much!! & in response:
      - Yeah I definitely get that my channel name would be hard to say haha! Might change it now you’ve said!
      - I did create a very small community around my scrapbooking videos and have only briefly stopped for the uni content to get it all out whilst it’s relevant.
      - I tried to do TikTok, I’m slowly getting the hang of it, but I do agree other social media presence is so important so I need to try harder!
      - The only reason why I didn’t say ‘back to uni haul’ in my title is just because I’m a first year so I haven’t been yet but I understand that was just an example.
      Thank you for all the tips though, I’ll definitely take a lot into consideration. I appreciate the feedback so much and it’s so sweet of you to want to help (I need it haha!) thanks again for the advice!

    Just finished watching your other videos I think you should buy a laptop case for your laptop just to be on the safe side with it being in your bag

    • @itsjxylxn
      @itsjxylxn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I do have a laptop bag (if that’s the bag you mean) and it’s in a padded slip but tbh I am tempted to get a case for it whilst it’s in the bag - so you’ve convinced me!

    i loved this video thank you sm this helped with my uni shopping! i was reading information on my accommodation and it says your not allowed fairy lights. just wondering if that was the same for you and you ended up not being able to use your fairy lights, mine are battery powered so i thought they would be safer

    • @itsjxylxn
      @itsjxylxn  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Awhh thank you - I’m so happy I could help! In terms of the fairy lights, it didn’t actually say anywhere we weren’t allowed any - I went the whole of first year without any complaints so I think my accommodation must have been fine with them! But battery powered ones is a good decision - the only reason why they wouldn’t want fairy lights is that it’s more things plugged in using their electricity so it’s considered a safety hazard.

      Though I'm not a uni student anymore, but a dude living in an apartment, I would definitely recommend getting an air fryer too.

    Hopefully starting uni in september this year. Would you recommend beginning to buy for uni already? Or wait until closer to the start of the year?

    • @itsjxylxn
      @itsjxylxn  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’d definitely recommend buying now! It’s so much less stressful collecting things as you go and then analysing what you have later rather than getting it all at once - you’re bound to miss something! Plus, there’s a lot of anxiety around uni and this is the only thing you can really get ahead of :)

      @@itsjxylxn I've got my eye on so many items on sale so I think I'll start getting them so it's cheaper than when it's closer to move in day

    • @itsjxylxn
      @itsjxylxn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hii - tbh I used everything I bought! The containers for storage and containers for food were definitely the most useful items that weren’t necessarily a ‘necessity’.
