absolutely agree about the knobs. so many companies are switching over to whatever style those are. I swap them out immediately. They are recreating the problem that originally led people to develop those silicone reel grips 20 years ago that slip on and bulk up the knob.
That’s a excellent point bro! I remember lots of guys using those like 12+ years ago. Especially like the 50 size curados/scorps those grips were slightly than the 200 versions.
I have all three of the old JDM models and love them. Was thinking about upgrading but, when comparing the old and new parts diagrams, there's not much changed at all. The spool is upgraded and that's it. In fact, I could buy the same new spool for my old model and it would work with no problem. To me it's not worth it. I do like the new color scheme. :)
I actually think its worse than the old one I purchased a brand new a and a2 at the same time to compare the longevity and after 5 months, the a2 has a really loud knocking sound when reeling at high speeds, something I'm used to with the tatulas. What a disappointment, I'm lucky I got a good deal on the reel, but it pales in comparison to my metaniums and the gen 1 steez a.
EDIT: I will send you everyone of those knobs I have. Would gladly trade for the new style... Little hesitant to buy the Steez A 2, my first Steez A (original) had issues. Was a tick-tick-tick that it took sending off to TackleTrap to solve. Supposedly they forgot to put the spacers in the levelwind, and it would occasionally shift while reeling. They fixed it good, but the reel was always tight afterwards.
I ended up returning this reel. It would make a clack on the cast like the rotor was snapping. Not as loud but sounded like a Jackall Rerange. Was driving me nuts.

Nice . I opted for the HLC, takes little time to master the breaks but once you do it flies!.so I bought zillion 1000 hd and now the Antares dc 😂 also
Love my HLC use it for C rig duty. I don’t think the brakes work at all 😂 it casts so far and uncontrollable even with heavily weight.
That side plate gave me a headache putting it back on 😅,seems issue with lock as if wouldn't want to be on a Shimano zodias..
