This version was in the 7" split with I-Spy. I have a vinyl copy of it somewhere! That split changed my life. Thanks to carcinofuck from the Something Awful forums around 2001 for exposing me to it.
God is religion. Without god their is no religion, with god there is religion. Its the same as nationalism and state. All of these things are inherently flawed.
Maybe, I suppose I'd have to hear why you think that?. They were quite a bit younger when they wrote this in any case. I don't think they're fans of the "How to Clean Everything" era songs anymore lol.
I don't think it's supposed to be pro-Hamas or anything, it's more about these various religions that all are based on violence, including things people don't usually look at as religion
"whitesplaining" isn't a particular meaningful criticism if it amounts to "white people expressing their opinion on something." Usually the term "whitesplaining" is used to refer to white people explaining away various racist actions or views, not just white people expressing political opinions.
This version is a lot better than the album version
I'm glad there's both though
@@drewwilson9149 But TH-cam definitly needs a better Version. ;)
Best version of this song, also still relevant since they wrote it 30+ years ago
first version i heard and the one i prefer. I used to listen that when i was 18 driving and getting high back in 2001
Me too! Exact same timeframe too
i finally realized the grnius of this song: its a reggea song and the topic is ecsactly opposite of regular reggea songs
This is the version I love
never knew a version other than this existed

Taps into my anger in a valid way. Great music too!
super like. thanks for posting, forgot about this version!
yes i love this one!
Congrats.
I love god & hate religion, like this song

@@sisterwounds I don't see how that's a good comparison. One could believe in god, but could choose to not follow organized religion
@@Grox3000 "Religion is for the people who fear hell. Spirituality is for people who have been there"
fuck!!
its true!!
lol
I feel like this is whitesplaining, and a very simplistic view

I think I speak for many when I say no-one cares about your feelings.
It's obviously not pro-Hamas, having been written when the PA controlled Gaza.
