    Best version of this song, also still relevant since they wrote it 30+ years ago

    This version was in the 7" split with I-Spy. I have a vinyl copy of it somewhere! That split changed my life. Thanks to carcinofuck from the Something Awful forums around 2001 for exposing me to it.

    I love god & hate religion, like this song

    • @sisterwounds
      @sisterwounds 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      God is religion. Without god their is no religion, with god there is religion.
      Its the same as nationalism and state. All of these things are inherently flawed.

      @@sisterwounds I don't see how that's a good comparison. One could believe in god, but could choose to not follow organized religion

    I feel like this is whitesplaining, and a very simplistic view

      @badsocks756 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe, I suppose I'd have to hear why you think that?. They were quite a bit younger when they wrote this in any case. I don't think they're fans of the "How to Clean Everything" era songs anymore lol.

      I don't think it's supposed to be pro-Hamas or anything, it's more about these various religions that all are based on violence, including things people don't usually look at as religion

    • @paultardspambot
      @paultardspambot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      "whitesplaining" isn't a particular meaningful criticism if it amounts to "white people expressing their opinion on something." Usually the term "whitesplaining" is used to refer to white people explaining away various racist actions or views, not just white people expressing political opinions.

      It's obviously not pro-Hamas, having been written when the PA controlled Gaza.
