- Upon first glance, I noticed the popular hobbyist motor nicknamed the "775" appears nearly identical to that used in the DeWalt DCD776 cordless drill... will it be a suitable cheap replacement for this entry-level drill? Let's find out!

Just a few quick questions/observations:
1. - Why did you remove the chuck & clutch plate?
2. - You forgot to shrink the heat-shrink on the motor terminals.
3. - Did it not occur to you to test the new motor _before_ reassembly?
4. - Where's part two, and will it include a teardown and reassembly of the planetary gearbox? 😄
I'm now off to strip mine down (again) to see why the speed selector doesn't shift into high speed; here's hoping that it's just the spring clip has popped off. 🤞
Good video. Nice touch showing the tools needed and where all the screws are (so many screws). Also good showing the 'Oops' moments so we don't have to. 😉
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I like showing the process, warts and all!
Uygulamanız doğru olsada matkap üzerinde motor yenilenmiş farkı göremedik.Bir sıkıntı mı var?
Hello, thank you so much. what about part 2?
Just bought a couple of broken drills to repair mine. The torque setting has jammed on mine and one of the ones I have bought just needs a new motor. Was thinking of putting spade connectors onto motor wiring to make swapping easier if I need to at a later date. Going to try replacing end cap on a motor to try to get a 2nd drill working cheap.
It's the transmission not the motor
Did not need to remove frpnt parts
Pretty hands
Does this model have brushes if so how do you change it?
The brushes are not able to be changed out. The motor is sold as a single unit.
It has to be spade clipped and/or soldered into the positive and negative wires coming off of the trigger assembly.
You can buy the end cap of the motor with the brushes in. There are two tabs bent over holding it on so not easy to replace. If the brush holders are okay you can buy brushes to slot in but is really fiddly. Cap is about £3, brushes about £7 for 10. Motor is a 550 I think.
5:06 shaft on new mortor is longer than original. Did you cut off shaft before assembling into gear box? Thanks
That was not straightforward well done good video. I do a bit of this myself on youtube.
Yep you seem a bit better than him i watch your stuff
