Wanted to point out that the Sarge Easter grip relieves pressure from the ring finger by allowing it to bend more. Very useful for alleviating pain from ulnar nerve injuries. I wouldn't look into it for a change in your release, but rather as a way to bowl pain-free.
Regarding Sarge Easter: Brunsnick is one of the ones I know that has adopted Sarge Easter for strain relief. Recently he fitted Sarahbowls (Sarah Rutherford) to Sarge Easter to help her bowl painfree and the difference was remarkable. So it's less of a technique or play style, but more about comfort.
Thanks Mark for giving such great advice for no cost at all. My question is how important is your ball roll. Does everyone need to get that forward end over end roll when competing at a higher level?
I want to thank Charles Hutcherson (The Hype) on introducing me to this channel. Love the discussions. My head is "noisy" I think. I'm going to work on "keeping it quiet" now.
Just started taking bowling seriously, and found your content. Both videos with the crew and Mark helps me learn and know what to pay attention to! Great content guys, would also appreciate a video of how you guys in the crew were when you started!
Thank you for all videos I've worked on not dropping my head and move air forward best tips I've ever gotten I threw my first 700 series today 743 thanks
9:36 I cam hit my target most of the time, but im having a hard time on my follow thru, my coach told me to keep my follow thru Up (on my shoulders) but it’s keeping me off, i tend to “back up” the ball or not put revs on it (Im two handed)
First of all great content. Thanks a lot Mark. For the 12 tips. I'm the 70-year-old guy trying to do the best I can. I bowl tomorrow here in the Stone Mountain 10:00 a.m. Stone Mountain Georgia. Trying for that 600 series. Thanks again. Keep up the great stuff man. Take care. Be safe out there. Shout out to you and your whole crew. Music
Hi, Mark, l haerd you meantion one finger set as a finger tip, next finger set as a driller house drill so the finger is set up to utilize the second nuckle to help in lefting the ball allow a liite more tourqe in creating more rev's. Is that a good idea for a guy working back into bowling after 10 yrs absentce for the sport, I miss my mid 200 games. On top of all the new balls and their reactions to new patterns, I'm learning but all great founded masters of the game can greatly help guy's like me, after a long unvolintery leave from the game and now having the stregth and will power to learn again and to succeed. Love the game... Thank you.. jim
Finding content for new bowlers who use the conventional grip is next to impossible. Would love to see some videos from you on this. Not sure how to know when to try to transition to fingertip grip.
Maybe a question for next time...one hand no thumber high speed/high rev Im forced to stand left and I feel I'm stuck in a zone were if I don't hit 3rd arrow it either it over hooks or it doesn't hook at all. Suggestions?
Hi - I have a question. What is the easiest way for me to pick up the corner pins? I enjoy your tips and in fact have been much more helpful than the coaches in my bowling league. I find him to be useful
As I guess you figured out, I’m in a Junior Bowling League, use a 14 lb bowling ball and my speed is around 13 mph. The ball that I have is the Hustle M & M and I use the Storm Ice for spares
I'm currently working on both my swing (relaxed) and release(below the equator of the ball). I find that on down swing, as I try to keep my hand behind the ball and fingers beneath the equator, i would easily pull on my shot, affecting my accuracy and consistency. What do you think I should work to do to improve on this?
Question for Baker: you mentioned in an earlier video that almost every bowler you coach that has early timing ends up having a quick swing and not show feet. Any tips on how to lengthwn or slow my swing in order to reach the timing spot?
Question for Coach Mark What advice would you give for a right handed two finger back up bowler. Also the two fingers (my middle and ring finger) the middle one always seems to be sore or hurts after I throw a bowling ball, is that due to bad release?
Hi coach baker. I'm hoping you would be able to answer my question. I am currently experiencing some pretty bad pain in my wrist and it shoots into my elbow as league night goes on. The pain started before changing my fit (went to a shorter span and moved my thumb from reverse to forward pitch). My pso and I did it to help keep my hand relaxed. But it still persists. What would you recommend? Thank you for any help.
Righty 2 hander 5 step approach here. What is normally the cause of the ball double bouncing on the lane? Sometimes I will start a practice session and do fine with minimal double bounce, and all of the sudden, I start double bouncing without feeling like my timing is terrible. Is this bad and how to fix?
hey mark do you have any tips for fixing a 2 handed swing that goes back and behind me? i can't seem to figure out how to keep my elbow straight :/ also i have a problem with my slide food ending up diagonal instead of pointing straight towards my target do u think that is a contributing factor as to why my backswings goes behind me?
Im a 2-handed bowler. Recently, I have been hopping at the release. Is this a timing issue? Also, everyone keeps telling me i have to get the ball behind me/my back. Is this true?
I'm a 185 average bowler but could be much better my problem is sometimes my ball doesn't curve back to the pocket when it does i strike well ive been told I throw it flat sometimes what does that really mean how do I fix it?
Im a 2 hander and i noticed that i always bowl with an arch in my back, i noticed that none of the pros do this and i sometimes get back pain after tournaments because of this, how should i fix this or should i even fix this
I need Mark to help me with my 10 pin leaves. They are driving me nuts. I had 7 in my 3rd game of league a few days ago. If nothing else, I am consistent!😂
Kegel has some good training on it, but 10 pin leaves mean your ball is exiting the pin deck to the right. Assuming you're right handed, that means your ball lost too much speed before hitting the pins. The solution is to increase ball speed slightly. You can stay in the same ball, move right and increase speed. Usually 2 with the feet and 1 with the eyes. You can change to something shiny but same overall strength that will lose less speed going down lane. You can switch to a weaker ball that doesn't slow down in the mids as much and keeps that speed at the pins.
@fireteam_ Thanks. I am a righty and was using a stronger symmetrical pearl. I was getting to about the 2-3 board at the breakpoint when this was happening. I was throwing it about 17-17.5 mph at the time. I was hitting the pocket consistently, but I felt like I maybe had too much angle or was maybe hitting it a little too light or both of those. I will take some of your advice and work on it in my practice sessions this week. 👍
@@lonestarpatriot876 I'm not a coach or expert or anything but that seems really far right. Assuming it's a house shot, that means your ball was in the friction for a long time. Most times on house shots you see between 6-10 board for breakpoint. Since your ball spent so much time in the friction that would explain the slower speed at the pins.
@fireteam_ And that sounds about right to me. I felt like I was too far right at the breakpoint, and I made the mistake of not adjusting my targeting and just tried to crank up more in an effort to get the ball to come back a little more on the headpin. I feel like if I had been 5-7 boards left at the breakpoint, I would not have been leaving those 10 pins.
Thanks for the video- interesting format ! So slowing ball speed was talked about but what about increasing ? 68 yo bowler feeling carry is adversely affected by ball speed (10 mph as viewed on scoreboard?) Thanks !
Can we get a future video talking about all the bowling lingo?
I have been asking for one of these too!

Amazing to hear what he taught me put into different terms. And, it all makes sense. Tonight will be my first go since the coaching session.
This was an absolute BANGER! I've been working on a few of the things mentioned and it has definitely helped recently. Baker da 🐐 🧹🧹🧹🧹🧹🔫🤘🏻😈🤘🏻
I read Mark’s The game changer book and watching these videos everything is starting to make sense now.
Awesome video guys.
Thank you clean up crew!
Yooo that “moving the air forward” might be the best one yet! THANKS AS ALWAYS COACH 🧹🧹
After chilli fries, I move the air backwards.
For real I never even thought about that.

2 Questions for Coach Mark: Does the arm swing need to be shorter for two handed bowlers and how should the timing be for 2 handed bowlers?
Thanks Mark for giving such great advice for no cost at all. My question is how important is your ball roll. Does everyone need to get that forward end over end roll when competing at a higher level?

Amazing q&a
Glad you enjoyed
Thank you for answering my question Mark! Appreciate you Rich for asking 🔥🧹🧹🧹
Any time!
Love your coaching tips. It really helps
Confident it what I am doing, will always calm me down!! That good!
Dropping Gems!!!
Love the knowledge! Keep em coming!

This is good! I have a friend who recently just switched, maybe we can bring him by to have mark speak on this in the near future!
Please tell Darren Tang that I am a subscriber here, so he’ll share his new rev rate tip with me!
Mark is great...
such a fire video

Seems like a great guy
What are some of the best practices drills I can use to get my release more consistent?

i sometimes short arm my swing on my fist shot and short arm swing half the times on my spares
I just moved to a 14 lbs bal and finally understand the term “getting soft in the hand”, how do you know when and when not to get soft?
Ball reaction, if it’s blowing through your break point or the lane is cliffed, soften up and see the difference
Can we get a video explaining the baker box

Does the Baker box apply to urethane or is the breakpoint different
Does this apply to both 2-handers and 1-handers?
This one is for me. Do 12 pound ball work on a dry Lane . I am thinking ?? WHY not ?
Im a 2-handed bowler. Recently, I have been hopping at the release. Is this a timing issue? Also, everyone keeps telling me i have to get the ball behind me/my back. Is this true?
I'm supposed to swing the ball within 3 inches of my pivot foot? I'm doing it wrong then because I'm like a foot away.
I'm a 185 average bowler but could be much better my problem is sometimes my ball doesn't curve back to the pocket when it does i strike well ive been told I throw it flat sometimes what does that really mean how do I fix it?
do you think having no grips can help my grip?
Dad sent this to me
Im a 2 hander and i noticed that i always bowl with an arch in my back, i noticed that none of the pros do this and i sometimes get back pain after tournaments because of this, how should i fix this or should i even fix this
So is the Baker Box and rule 31 the same thing?
Nope. Rule of 31 is just for break point on different patterns. Baker box is more of a range of best angle to the pocket. Markbakerbowling.com

Do the baker box change when I begin to move left, and what's the numbers if not 5-9
