Maybe it’s me , I’ve been retired couple years , but it seems like today the jobs are very Chief moderated and coordinated with command posts and fire sectors and so forth. A lot of standing around outside and the days of asses and elbows on the stairwell seem to be long gone. Not the Firefighters fault it’s just the job changing.

That fault of bad firefighting is mainly the responsibility of the officers and the training.

JB91710 I’m not saying it’s bad firefighting I’m just saying the fire ground and approach is much more reserved. That’s the departments new policies .

@@DC-ih8bv I know you are not saying it is wrong, that's why I said it. The FDNY are one of the worst departments in the country and their fire ground tactics prove it. Watch these videos and ask yourself, "Why is it taking so long to get tank water on the Visible Burning material." Watch while they allow an 11 year old girl die and their "Brother" get roasted. Search and Rescue is Not job one. Protection, by eliminating all visible threats, is because it is faster and safer. th-cam.com/play/PLkp0E1ao1XEyglhxetar50BGAuQ5CEoCu.html

@@JB91710 We are taught to deal with the threat first and if we come across a casualty while doing that we then deal with the casualty.
I have seen so many video's on here where guys go wandering off without a hoseline looking for people and they all end up dying or the crew get trapped and need rescuing as well.
an never understand why so many personnel are always standing around outside with a BA set on their backs and the vast majority of them never use it during the job. If they had several of the crew outside when they turn up without sets they could get things set up far quicker and get to work.

When the video starts we see the FDNY all set up with hoses pulled. Notice how the fire gets bigger and bigger. That's called Fire Playing. Like most videos of their fires, this one should have probably been out before the video started. Every second that combustion is ALLOWED to exist, people and property are put at risk. You do NOT perform the Heroic act of Search and Rescue before you eliminate all visible and accessible threats to PROTECT victims and entering firefighters. Tank water can be applied to Visible Burning Material faster than you can assemble an entry team, get fully dressed and get the front door open. That's if you actually care about doing the Job!

You've zero idea about structural firefighting. Nor are you qualified to second guess the most experienced department on the planet. Not to mention the fact that you weren't there, aren't a chief or a fireman, and have no idea what conditions led to what decisions. You ALWAYS do search and rescue simultaneous to the fire attack; ALWAYS.

@@theletsbehonestatheist6131 Not ONE firefighting training video on your channel yet you know more than a person who spells out the right tactics for any given fire. Shame on you.
