    I sometimes get so annoyed and aggravated with these spam e-mails myself that I also almost feel like I want to respond back to whoever is sending them and tell them off by telling them to stop even though I don't really want to do so since that would just make things much worse for me and whatnot.

    I was just wondering something, by the way. I know they say you're not really supposed to respond to spam e-mails since doing so would basically just let the scammers know that your e-mail address is active and everything which would result in more spam being sent that way which I also know too, but how exactly do these scammers know if people have responded to or interacted with their e-mails in any way? I was just wondering about that myself since I just thought of asking because it almost seems like these scammers have certain ways of knowing things like that. I sometimes also become aggravated myself as well to the point where I almost feel like I want to respond back to whoever's sending the spam mail and just tell them to stop doing so, but I really don't want to since that would just make things much worse that way and I would just receive even more spam mail as a result, especially if the senders also know that I don't like it and it's just going to bother me more that way. I usually try to ignore the spam mail the best I can by simply just reporting the e-mails and blocking them as well as deleting them even though sometimes it's still really hard to try to ignore them, especially since this has also been an ongoing problem now for me for a while even though there's nothing really wrong with my e-mail account or anything like that since I can still use it the way I've always been using it, and I can still sign into my account just fine too.

      @@whatsbuzzing If I only reply to an email "What is this order for" will they be able to get my passwords or any private information about my accounts? I am using Microsoft Outlook.

      Make sure that the email you received is from a legitimate company and you should be fine! If you have any doubts is best to NOT reply at all! Hope that helps Jim! Make sure to sub to the channel for more!

      @@whatsbuzzing Ok well, it probably was not a real company & I did respond. I didn't open the attached file. But how could they take important information from me just by responding? Doesn't Outlook protect against that?

    • @whatsbuzzing
      @whatsbuzzing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They probably just want to verify that your address is active. Just make sure to not respond to any future e-mails and don’t share any valuable information! Hope it helos Jim!

    I know this video here mostly details the risks and all of responding to spam e-mails and whatnot, but I still had some questions though to ask since I was just wondering anyway and also since this particular video here is related to spam mail and all:
    1. My e-mail account hasn't been hacked or anything, but a while back I noticed that my e-mail account/address has started receiving various spam e-mails and this has been an ongoing problem for me since this has been happening almost every day for the past several months. What exactly causes this to happen?
    2. I might have also accidentally responded to a spam e-mail or two from before even though I didn't mean to do so, and it seems like ever since then, my e-mail account has just been receiving even more spam mail that way. What exactly causes that to happen too and why?
    3. If you open and/or interact with spam e-mails in any way, how exactly do the scammers themselves know if you responded to their e-mails like that?
    4. Is there also some possible way to completely stop the spam mail altogether or not? I've been reporting the e-mails, deleting them, blocking them, and even blocking the e-mail addresses and domains where the e-mails have been coming from, but it seems like no matter what I've been trying to do, nothing seems to be stopping it so far and I sometimes even receive some spam e-mails somehow from certain senders even though I already have their e-mail addresses blocked although they shouldn't be going through to me if I already have them blocked.
    I just thought of asking these questions though in case if anyone knows the answers to them, but this is just something that I've been having to deal with now for quite some time and it's just really aggravating too although I wish it would somehow stop. I just want to know why and how this sort of thing happens, and also if there's a way to possibly stop it somehow.
