You can acknowledge that someone could post a photo and model in any way shape or form, whether IG, twitter, facebook, etc., but in terms of a "label" we shouldn't discredit people that are actually in the industry and do this professionally.
What makes someone under a label more professional than someone who isn't?

Instagram models are Models. TH-cam rappers are rappers. Instagram photographers are photographers. The only difference between Instagram models and traditional models. Is that traditional models, are hired by a company to be the face of their product. To be the face behind their marketing campaign. They themself aren't a brand, so much as a product. Instagram models on the other hand, are brands in and of themself. They have their own audience and fanbase, where companies will pay them. In hopes of their product be advertised to the model's audience.
Traditional models aren't paid based upon their value, or audience. But on how well they estimate the advertising campaign to do. In some cases, it would be an initial per hour/per advert. With a progressively growing multiplier by whatever means they determine(number of magazines printed on, billboards used in, air time in tv commercials). Instagram models are paid on a basis of x dollar per guaranteed audience member. It doesn't matter how many interact or not. The company wants to use their brand, their encompassing audience to market towards. Hierarchical diffusion at its finest vs Just a generic placeholder that the new customers aren't coming due to their name or history. But because of the product itself...Anybody can be the model for the commercial, but not anybody has the Insta model fanbase.

The most annoying thing about people when it comes to modeling is that they think models are supposed to be a representation of what's normal. Models are SUPPOSED to lack a lot of the flaws that the average person has. They're SUPPOSED to be the most attractive people. But slowly, the standard for models is being lowered because for some reason people think that'll help society. The face of true beauty should not be some overweight, unhealthy person, nor should it be an average person. People get upset about it because they think that image should be obtainable, but it litterally should not be. Only a small percentage of people can be attractive enough to be a model, and nobody should be looking at models thinking thats how THEY need to look. All people need to do is keep themselves in good shape and take care of themselves so they look as good as they can be.

A model is someone or something whom represents something by wearing or using it. Fashion models, for instance. In order to demonstrate how clothing from different brands looks on an actual person, they are required to represent them.
The instagram "model" is not doing that (unless they're sponsored obviously), they're posting selfies because they like how they look or just want to share them for fun. That's really all there is to it.
