A Time For Choosing Speaker Series with Peter Thiel

Peter Thiel will be the next speaker in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute’s A Time for Choosing Speaker Series, a forum for leading voices in the conservative movement to address critical questions facing the future of the Republican Party. Through formal speeches delivered at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, speakers specifically address fundamental questions, such as “Why are you a Republican?,” “What should the Republican Party stand for?,” and “What are the Republican philosophies we can all agree on?”
Peter Thiel is an entrepreneur and investor. He cofounded PayPal, led it as CEO, and took it public; he made the first outside investment in Facebook, where he serves as a director; and he cofounded Palantir Technologies, where he serves as chairman. He is a partner at Founders Fund, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm that has funded companies including SpaceX and Airbnb. He is also the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Zero to One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future.
Previously, President Ronald Reagan appointed Governor Hutchinson as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas.

There are two problems that are paramount for this country: the state of the family; and the state of education. Both are in dismal condition. If these fundamental parts of civil society are not fixed, then we are doomed. Somehow, someone needs to figure out how to discuss both politically. Only the late, great Senator Pat Moynihan had the courage to put the family challenge up front, now half a century ago. He was pilloried, to our eternal shame as a country. Sad; both problems are far worse today. We either figure out how to address them, or we have seen our best days as a nation.
