    Yeah colorism is real and something that a lot of us dark skin women have to deal with. When we start to pour more into ourselves, the effects of it become less draining because you know you’re fine.

    This is a great video! As a dark skinned woman it's unfortunate that some people associate black women as being more masculine. I definitely exude more feminine energy naturally but learning to have more feminine energy and be more balanced really. Awesome tips! I agree less is more I notice I get more compliments too when I have a more natural look. You are absolutely beautiful btw. Thanks for sharing love this ❤

    These are all good things. Sterotypes definitely play a huge role! But I hate when a random man says "you need to smile baby girl..." sometimes I don't feel like smiling. Sometimes I'm not in a great mood. Its not human to always be happy. Life happens, and its okay to not smile all the time.

    • @CatherineCherlene
      @CatherineCherlene  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gabrielle Ishell love this comment 👏🏾 it’s true, not everyday we have to smile. It’s ok to be upset. People are just nosy at times. Thank you for watching! ♥️

    • @kamkam4571

      Even if you don’t feel like smiling m, you should smile. Sometimes we lose at demeanor and if you don’t like men telling you to smile you’re probably walking around with a sour face more often than not.

    Being confident about who you are is such an important quality to have. I use music and poetry to be in touch with my emotions. It helps tremendously. I have been doing the braid thing lately. A little makeup every now and then; mostly when I am going to be singing somewhere. Looking good is a compliment to everyone around you. You want to give the world your best.

You make a great point that, us doing our make up or taking care of ourselves is always for others like it can’t be for us...🤷🏾‍♀️So crazy!! Thanks for this! Another great one!

    yasss i love this video! i feel like in the media blk women are often robbed of our divine feminity so any way for us to reclaim that is great. There is a special set of circumstances for black women and I'm happy you have enough intellectual honesty and have the sense to know that! I am white, I have never heard, nor had any indication whatsoever that dark skin is associated with masculinity, or white skin is associated with femininity. I follow many You-tubers speaking about femininity who have dark skin, because I find them more Alluring, in every way, I only follow one who is white. With so many things happening in the world right now, please know, that dark skinned women are SO incredibly Beautiful!! I don’t know what it is you are being told, I don’t know what it is that you believe to be true. When I look at another person the more different they are from myself the more Joy Fills my Heart. I enjoyed this ! However , I disagree with the first points , respectfully, lol I think a lot of those things are great ! However normally a woman, especially a “black women” confidence is normally intimidating for other people . A woman sure of herself period is tbh. And normally that’s associated with “masculine “ energy . However with the appearance and journaling I deff agree with those !

      PopularLoner I do agree with the confidence coming across as imitating but why is that? When a white women is confident it’s normal but a black (dark skin) women is confident it’s seen as imitating/bold/angry - It’s sad. But that’s the reality. Thank you for watching ♥️

    I love your video; every time i go outside looking good my family members, are always telling me why am i being so extra. Sometimes, that stays with me for the whole time i'm out and now i'm over thinking. And i don't like it. like it's so strange to them to just look good for you. But i'm not letting their comment stop me from looking good, just for my self. :}
