Think about when it was built. During the depression. When money was money was none existent. This was a true work of art and love of a father to his presous little girl. Truly amazing and touching.
It was made of wood and they totally redid it in the 80s. So it's not the original. They also said the toys are not original, that they get donated and changed by the family etc over the years
@Jericho Bravecat no I’m pretty sure it was made of wood at first, but then replaced with bricks so it could last longer. The toys got too old so some were replaced with newer toys or antique toys

A very modern "build" for 1933, well done dad. All of her play toys kept as they were. xx
@SweetAzSugar im sure it has been restored and maintained through the years.
Some of the toys are newer, too.
If you google you can see period photos of it when it was first built. It looks pretty similar to how it does now but has been altered over the years to freshen it up and make it last. Some of the toys have been replaced over the years due to the originals being stolen or becoming too old.
The carpet inside has clearly been added more recently...I’m sure it’s been kept up and restored over time ♥️

I had dipteria (not sure of the spelling) as a child, at the age of 5, way back in 1953. I was not expected to live and spent months in the hospital under quarantine. I am now 72 years of age.
My Father ( passed away now ) also had Diphtheria as a youngster . He survived but the boys in the beds next to him in the Hospital both died . Being very young he didn't realize the seriousness of the situation . I am a resident of Lanett, Alabama. We consider Nadine's grave as a local monument in our community. No matter what, No one would ever think of doing anything to vandalize or disrespect her resting place. It serves as a reminder that we all experience tragedy at some time or another. All the citizens of community understand that people grieve differently so her parents took comfort in knowing that they granted her wish even though she died. It is wonderful that so many are touched by the story behind her beautiful dollhouse. The Bible book Ecclesiastes 7:1-4 reveals how important it is to meditate on life by observing the distress afflicted on those who have lost a loved one in death. How proud we are here in Lanett, Alabama to be able to share something meaningful to others.

Speaking of Diphtheria. My father was born in 1897, there were 9 children in the home. They were a farming family in Pennsylvania. Diphtheria hit the family, the 7 children between my Father and his oldest sister all died within one week. He and his sister both survived. There's 7 small headstones lined up in the local cemetery. That was the tragedy they suffered in those days.

My folks would have celebrated their 72nd Wedding Anniversary in that same month. I’m a believer, I will see them again someday. Blessed Mother Mary feels my pain; She lost Her son....Jesus. 🙏🏼
Rip.
So sorry for your lost I lost my 27 year old son in 2016
So sorry for your loss. My birthday is October 8th. I'll say a prayer for you.
Sorry for your losses may they all continue hi r.i.p. Yes you shall see them again I believe I will see my love ones again also
You lost them all in the same month? I can't even begin to imagine the pain you went through. I hope this pain has eased somewhat over the years, although I know it will never go completely. Sending you love x
This is the nicest and most sincere grave I've ever seen.
No parent should have to bury their child. My heart goes to those who unfortunately have had to. ♥️❤️

My father had diphtheria as an infant at just about the same time as Nadine. He survived but his hearing was damaged for the rest of his life. Horrible disease.
As well as Nadine, I grieve for her parents who had to deal with this at the ages of 21 and 23. Almost children themselves.
This is normal in Mexico, if you go to the cemetery they have lots of little houses like this all shapes and sizes filled with the person possessions, religious objects, ect..
That’s so cool, thanks for sharing 💕
Beautiful.
I’ve seen people who do bigger houses and bury multiple family members in that area
Yes, that is true.

Nathaniel Harris. Totally agree. My 5 year old baby girl is EVERYTHING TO ME! Im so sorry some of you have or had shitty dads......... But tht DOES NOT MEAN tht all dads are Tht way.....not at all. My bond with my baby girl is indescribable, its unlike ANYTHING IVE EVER FELT! The things i would do to protect and keep her safe are literally limitless. This video made me tear up pretty damn heavy, I cant begin to imagine the pain that man felt as he finished this for her. This is soooooo sad and yet soooooooo sweet all at the same time.
@TriRaven thank you very much. I do the best i know how to be everything a daughter could want for my baby. I always wanted a little boy is what i always said , but i wouldnt change her for anything in this world or the next, it literally changed everything within me the moment i held her for the first time... I cant possibly describe in words that feeling. Overwhelming.
I can only imagine the joy her parents felt when their baby girl met them on the other side R.I.H to all of them 💔💔

I love the fact the parents were buried with her I also loved the fact she was put in the Dollhouse she asked for, got, but never enjoyed, she never got to play in it. Now she can play in it forever, with her mom and dad 😭❤
This is so heartbreaking. No parent should ever have to bury their children. Rip Nadine. Fly high little angel.

I understand your pain, Tammy, I lost my beloved son, in 2018, he was 44. 😢 I know what you mean about calling your adult children “baby” even though they’re adults, us as mothers will always see them as our babies...at least I do. My life has forever changed with this tremendous and painful loss, I still cry for him everyday. 😢😢🥺🥺
I’m so sorry for your loss. 🥺
May God continue giving you comfort. 🙏🏼
What a Legacy. RIP all of you Together forever. 💗👶🌼🌸🇦🇺Thank You So Much for Sharing this, with such Respect.
That’s beautiful. Someone is definitely taking good care of the little house. What a wonderful way to honor one’s child.
I read that a local church group looks after it.
That is the most beautiful realistic dollhouse I've ever seen. Little Nadine would have certainly loved this had she not lost her precious life before completion. Her dad was very creative in the design. So sad Nadine didn't get to enjoy her precious little dollhouse 😔
How beautifully bittersweet. Clearly she was loved.
I see grief and an attempt to hold on anyway they could. I totally understand that...just a sad situation.
That house looks like it's not that old. Things really use to be built better. I mean even the awnings! Incredible!
@JoJo Mo from what i understand, the city or a local church adopted it and takes care of it. I know they change the shingles on the roof and rotate the toys inside. They also put up Christmas decorations every year. There's a small stuffed Easter bunny in storage somewhere that I took to her earlier this year.
So heartbreaking, what a loveing memorial for a young child. RIP Nadine another flower in gods garden x
He did say people come from all over to see it. It's only right to invest in keeping it looking nice for that reason.
Cyanide Cupcake Gotcha! Thanks
Definitely agree
This was built during depression era which may be why it took so long to build. So much love put into it, put into this little girl. I can't imagine the heartbreak when she didn't get to use it. Very precious story.
Losing a child has to be one of the hardest things in life. I can see how much little Nadine was loved by her father. Rest in Peace little girl and too all the little ones taken in their early part of life. Thanks Lamont another video done with much respect.
This is one of the saddest and most beautiful tribute I’ve ever seen! My grandparents lost their 18 month old daughter to pneumonia in 1936. They were very poor and didn’t even have a photograph of her, which they regretted until they died. 😭
I'm Sorry But They Are With Her Now 😢❤
Not the red and yellow flower always spinning everytime he says her name... might be her favourite one :)
In case it goes unnoticed--as it obviously has---it's the one that is leaning the farthest forward, and the WIND is able to catch its blades and make it spin. Nothing out of the ordinary, and no need to make it seem as if it was "her favorite one," considering those things were made many decades AFTER her demise!!!

@@Dvvnce But what if there *is* no heaven? I mean, people can assume there is. But none of us will know for sure until we're dead. And even then we may never know because some people (like myself) believe that when you're dead, you're dead. Lights out. There is nothing more. However, I can't claim that to be fact anymore than someone else can claim a heaven exists. *sigh*. Death scares me. I don't know what's more frightening... facing what's on the other side (if there is another side) or becoming nothing at all.
Me too, Ashley.
The whole thing is phenomenal.
The little girl was clearly very cherished.
It bittersweet that her parents are buried with her
And so nice to see the toys from the 1930s still living on.
Burying your one and only child is the hardest thing to do, it never gets easy but you learn to cope
I lost both of my children. "Cope" is about all it was, and it took a very long time to get past the grief of losing them.

I can’t imagine what it must be like to lose a child 😔
why do the best parents always have to lose their children so soon?
That's life
... So it's OK when the children of shit parents die?
Cemeteries are full of families with children that died years before their parents. It’s the best argument you can make for vaccines.
If Covid put you in an iron lung would you view it differently? Go to a museum and see one.
@@mindakahn9964 The vaccine is what put many of those poor people into the iron lungs to begin with - research the tainted Cutter polio vaccine.

This is a fascinating grave. I love this channel, all three of your channels, truly.
Oh my word...my grandmother's family is from Chambers County and I remember being taken there as a small child. I must have been about 5 or 6. I'm 55 now. I remember being told that I couldn't play with the toys. I was so entranced by that little house. I completely forgot about this. Thank you for reminding me of that memory and of being there with my grandmother to visit.
