I can see why you would think that, I had the same thoughts before Charles demonstrated it to me. What he did was have me sit in the airplane and he grabbed the tail and lifted it above the height that it usually is lifted. Then he showed me how much clearance the prop still had -- it's more than what you think. You have to be in an extremely nose down attitude for it to hit the ground.
