In this episode of Shop Talk, you'll learn why they left aviation, a history of some of the places they worked at before working with Tekamo, and what they're up to now.

    Very surprising to me how many fellow mechanics started out in aviation, I graduated college after 2 years got my aircraft maintenance engineering diploma and decided just wasn’t for me. Wanted nothing more then to be heavy duty and work on equipment, thought I was a rare breed but so refreshing to see how many others there are just like me that made the transition as well!

    As someone who did the hdfm apprenticeship in the past. One thing I recommend highly, is don't do what I did and do your practical on job stuff before schooling. Go to the school first and get some base knowledge before going and working as an apprentice. It makes life much easier and less stressful on job. I started with learning on the job first, and man it made simple tasks twice as hard, because I knew sweet jack all before starting. Go to school, then on job learning. That's my advice.

    I have the exact same story. I just left my full time aviation job with the National Guard as a helicopter maintainer as a federal technician (still in the guard) and going in the heavy duty mechanic field. The job I am starting Monday right off the back is almost double my salary with work truck and all. To me the pay to responsibility ratio does not match in aviation. What I will say, the experience you get in aviation that you get no where’s else is the attention to detail and not doing a job half ass and having constant accountability of all your tools and hardware. Just started watching your channel since I took this job and enjoying every video. Thank you!

    I'm really glad I found this channel I've watched almost every video. I was in aircraft structural maintenance for 9 years then the U.S. Air Force moved me to the recruiting and I hated the office and I left there I wanted back in the shop so bad. I started my own tree company started climbing as an arborist and that's not bad I love it but it's not a mechanic and I really do miss wrenching. I wrench for myself but I wish I had the opportunity to have jumped into this world when I got out. Looking for greener pastures

    We had pape show up for a road builder Hitachi. Machine had rock guards on the track frame. The machine would limp to the left side. Had to boom limp up hills clearing for a gravel pit. Pape adjusted line pressures. Sat in the machine while it rained. Months of this happened, until we found out all the track rollers on that side had bearings missing. We replaced the rollers and that sucker tracks straight and doesn't need a limp along. Pape even sent 3 more rollers than the machine had. Wild.

Easy to call parts changer. ! You really gotta be there in the moment to understand the whole situation. In Ontario it seems the dealerships have a turn style entrance for the mechanics. • @TekamoHD
      @TekamoHD  ปีที่แล้ว

      What part of Mexico do you live/work? There is plenty of heavy duty work here - in many parts of Canada. There is also a lot of marine work in the Vancouver area. You should apply for a work permit as there are many job openings here. Take a look at the official Government of Canada website for more information. Avoid the immigration website scams, a lot of websites want you to pay fees to apply for permits when you can actually do it by yourself or through a legitimate immigration Lawyer. Sometimes it's hard to know what websites are legit so be careful.
