to hear this 50 years later is astonishing. Thank you! We may think our spiritual practice doesn't yield fruit if there's no dramatic awakening, but ... ain't so. There is quiet fruit. Blessings to all.

Exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why they think we need their take on something we're about to hear when, if they just shut up and play it, we could have our own take.

@@-_-_-_-_-... Do you not realize you're listening to yourself speak? Words are just vehicles yet it seems to be bringing out the sense of hostility in you. Listening to him should be your practice to work on yourself and let go of that attachment of "I need ram dass, I don't need this guy." You don't NEED anything. That too is ego at play. Just another desire. Drop back into awareness and live in the quietness.

I've been listening to Ram Dass for a while now and I've noticed a few things while I conduct a few experiments: when I listen to ram Dass for hours on end and days on end I'm a bit more calmer, relaxed, see, hear and notice difference within myself and it's all smooth, when I stop listening my body, soul and mind revert back to bad habits,my anger, anxiety, self doubt and a bunch of other things start to happen. It's strange how this happens to me and the influence and guidance of one individual can have impact on me,I like the new changes not the old me,if I were to really to give up so much in this life I would be living in the woods off grid, living of the land reading books and mediation sessions a lot,I feel this way more and more as I get older, there are times I don't feel excepted in society as my body gets older with age, their are blockades on my path on this journey I'm on to seek God and the meaning of all his words,I have 9 years left till I can pursue my works as I have written above, once that day comes I hope this body is ready, untill then I've got a lot learning to do.

It’s nice to read your journey so far and I’m glad you are letting it work on you. I hope it continues to make you feel more and more one with the universe. Vasudhaiva Kutumbaka
It would be great if you could visit Bharat 🇮🇳 for a meditation retreat if you haven’t already. It might take your spiritual journey way ahead 🙏 ॐ

Hey that’s completely normal, it’s called something like ‘Grace of the guru’, where whilst listening to teachings one feels enlightened but then returns back to their old ways after. The work is about incorporating the teachings into the old way of life and unfortunately (as I’m slowly coming to terms with) it’s not quick it’s a lifelong process. Listening to ram dass is almost like taking psychedelics in a way, it gives you a touch of the divine but then afterwards, sooner or later, you come back down to earth. I suppose the process is about strengthening the connection with the divine enough so that on earth we still feel the grace.

@@tuttosalve8352 In many ways correct,at times when I'm not running around I can actually relax and think of the words he has said and try to remember the process of doing my best to keep calm and know everything is happening for a reason, can't control what happens but I can control myself on how I react to the events that happen in life that are around me.

I love this talk, but it's very easy to listen to this wisdom, and believe it's just a matter of putting it into practice. Around the 34:50 mark, he talks about the importance of dedicating yourself fully to a practice, and not thinking about the outcome. I'm a visual artist, and have spent literally years...decades, even...orienting myself within my practice to simply 'be with' the practice in itself. No matter how much focus I bring to the act itself, something always begins to escape, and the mind begins to struggle toward ends...toward getting things to square up in a certain way. Of course, when my mind begins worry about the ends, everything goes to crap, and the experience transforms itself into mere labour...drudgery. I simply don't think it's possible, working within the constraints of the present economic situation, to be able to turn your eye away from end-goals. You can do it...but in my experience, just letting the pieces fall where they may is a sure-fire way to find yourself locked out of the system of galleries and granting agencies, without whose support, you very quickly find yourself relegated to the ranks of an amateur. Nothing wrong with this, of course, but you will certainly find yourself out of the loop - and your 'place at the table' will be taken by someone else.

And that’s what Ram Dass talks about. Trying to interstate that balance of being nobody and have now where to go, but to just be, and at the same time recognising we have our dharmas and karmas to fulfill, requires us to realise that the game is to take it all lightly and not take everything so seriously. Our egos want to take everything seriously. But, the game is not to be high and exhilarated, as Ram Dass points out. It is to be free. So we do what we must, honouring our human form and karmic identity as we move towards realising our innate freedom, without being too attached to the highs and the lows.

Dear Ragu 🩵 First thing first, thank you for helping to bring Ram Dass words into the world and for your thorough work searching through the archives.
Second is constructive feedback, I think both you and “here and now” listeners would benefit from the introductions being more premeditated, concise and within a certain time frame and by doing so keeping compassion for the listeners and how many are coming here to find relief. I think a lot of new listeners fall off due to the long introduction that at first glance seems like it’ll be the whole video, and that’s a shame as a lot of people could find peace through his teachings.
Letting you know It would be a joy to listen to your introduction if the above mentions is taken into consideration. And have your personal takes on his material in dedicated videos with that as title, so it doesn’t feel misleading to the people seeking Ram Dass comfort.
I hope this feedback makes sense and know that it’s said without passing judgment! 🩵
Sending love and blessings to you!

You have to accept Ragus words as equal to anyone elses otherwise you are rejecting part of yourself. If it irritates you ask yourself why, then if you must simply fast forward. Everyone who says stop talking, then its the same for you. Just close your mouth so it mirrors your mind.

    • @Magickfae

Agree! I used to fast forward because I was really obsessed with Ram das.. and I realized that Ragus is really lovely. And there are parts of myself involving patience, compassion and love for another persons take on things to really hear the valuable things he also was saying. Yes it's easy to hear Ram Das eloquent words.. but everyone is valuable.. therefore I am valuable.
Thanks for saying this. . Because I felt this and checked the comments and low and behold a treasure chest of all types of comments

It's funny how everyone finds this guy's introductions so annoying, myself included. Here's the dilemma as I see it: it's clearly an ego trip on his part. When I first encountered this series I didn't even realize that Ram Dass was in it. I was annoyed that the title was misleading because this other guy was talking. But if we're being conscious then we see that it's a certain attachment on our part to call him out for his unnecessary ego trip. In a positive sense it could be like the kind of relationships that Ram Dass talks about where two people help each other to awaken. So Ragu (whatever your name is), you might consider your ego trip by rambling at the beginning of each one of these, adding nothing of value and essentially trying to ride the coattails of a dead man. And thank you for sharing all of this great material from Rumdum Rammy Dos OS! Namaste! Do what thou wilt. Love is the law, love under will.

    • @derek8282
      @derek8282 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

"I was annoyed that..." There is where you got caught. Raghu didn't do this, you got caught in your reactivity to Raghu. He is your teacher right now teaching you where you get annoyed and why. Ram Dass is your ego trip telling you holy things you want to hear, Raghu is your spiritual practice showing you where you are still unable to let go of your ego.
I'm speaking from experience, I used to fast forward through Raghu, and later started listening to him with my heart open. I feel very warm toward him now, he feels like a long lost brother I bumped into on the path. Are you annoyed with your bro? Work with it! Isn't this why we are here? You'll see that Raghu is just sweeping like the sweeper.
I think you already know all of what I'm saying, but reactivity is really sticky stuff, so I'm dropping this comment here in case you need the reminder. I am you, after all. I'm just a post-it note from another time and space.
