- hellooo everyone!!! today is the very first day of my disney college program; check-in day!!!! i am SO excited this day is finally here. join me as i check in for the disney college program for spring advantage 2018, decorate my room, and go to disney springs for the first time!
(also this is my first real vlog so like i forgot to use my tri-pod so that weird little background sound is me holding the camera im the worst i know but you live and you learn :-)
also the 2 bedroom/6 person is not bad at ALL, it actually worked out so well!! we just were not expecting it so it was fun/surprising walking into our room and seeing everything...
also also it was so rainy in the morning all of my car shots are blurred by rain droplets :/ so sorry its hard to really see everything!! but thats orlando for ya

Omg! This just made me so sad!!! I did the program and lived in Chatham in 2007! The furniture looks the same, aside from the fact that we didn’t have bunk beds back then!

How do you apply for a Disney cast member cause since I was 14 years old, I wanted to work at Disney world, but I don’t know how
I am tripping out because I’ve never seen someone’s vlog who had the same Chatham apartment layout that I did and I was convinced until the view out the window that it was my same exact apartment! But I lived on the first floor of building three and luckily that was before they had the three people sharing a room so my roommate and I had that huge bathroom/closet all to ourselves! So glad I found your vlogs just for apartment nostalgia

I was in that same exact room for my DCP in Fall 2011. When I went, it was only 2 people in each room. So many great memories!
February 3rd cannot get here soon enough because that's the day my program starts. I will be arriving in Florida several days before my program begins. I am super excited for it.

I lived in Chatham during my CP :) Have the best time of your life! You will miss it every day once you're done (I went in 2009 and still ache for Disney every day).

Well.....this makes me feel old. haha No one was blogging their CP 9 years ago when I did mine :D Facebook and digital cameras that were not connected to our phones was all there was.
I did live in a 3-bedroom 6-person apartment in Patterson when it first opened. Then I extended to a 1bedroom-2 person apartment in Chatham. The 2bed 6 person set up looks insane. The DCP is quite the experience. You will have so much fun! Don't feel bad if these vlogs drop off! You are going to have plenty to do during your DCP! Good luck and have fun!!

You are going to have an awesome time! I still can't believe they are putting 3 people in a room and 6 people in a 2 bedroom now. My first program was 4 people in a 2 bedroom and we used all the space between the 4 of us so I couldn't imagine the same space with 2 extra people living there. Good incentive to get out as much as you can :) Enjoy the parks often :)

How do cast members and magic bands work? Do you link your employee number or something? I saw another video where they bought a magic band upon arrival, so I was just curious :)
I think it works like a park ticket and you can link it through the Disney App

My friend was part of the Disney college program a few years ago. He actually got kicked out of the program and had to move back home because he's an idiot. Lol! He said it actually wasn't all that glamorous as you would expect.

I really wanted to do the college program and I choose to study in England instead and NO ONE told me you could apply for the term after graduation and I have all the regret! I love watching this, tho! You're such a happy person

This video made me jealous and I don’t even know why because I’ve been in the DCP for the past year. My year is up in May 😂 It’s definitely changed my life!!
So, I have a few questions. First, are you going to college while you are in this program? Second, what happens when your semster is over? Do you stay in the housing or have to leave and find somewhere else to stay?
Hi there. I did the Disney College Program several years ago. For your first question, they require you to be in college when you REGISTER for the program, but you don't have to still be enrolled when you do it. I registered the semester before I graduated so that by the time I started the program, I wouldn't have to leave to go back to school. Generally, when the program ends, people have to go back to their hometowns and finish college (unless you do what I did). However, you do have an option to extend for another 3-6 minutes, meaning you would continue doing the program with company housing for up to a year. Once you run out of extensions and want to keep working at Disney World, you would have to request a transfer to full time, at which point you would need to find your own housing. However, Disney has an online portal to help people find roommates, which you would have access to if you recently completed the College Program. I hope that helps!
Why would you drop out of college to work a 12 dollar an hour job at Disney?
@@jjthomas2297 you're not dropping out of college, you get credit for doing the program. disney also offers classes you can take while you're there that count for credit as well.

I was lucky enough to get only one roommate in a one bedroom apartment in Chatham, and she was Japanese. I never knew they did bunk beds, so I’m guessing that’s a new thing because I’ve never heard of them in my entire eight months on the program. DAK for life.

I really wanted to do a look-a-like character performer role at Disney but since I'm from Australia the Disney cultural exchange program doesn't offer it but I still can't wait to apply. I think I want to be in merchandise or a character attendant the most. I can't believe the earliest time I could apply (be eligible with the criteria for the dcep) would be in 2 years 😩
