Earl the xmaxx ultimate sounds great. and looks great. I am installing the Max six ESC thank you for the Settings. Just a little too chilly in Pennsylvania it’s been in a single digits for the last two or three days going to wait to warm up in the 40s . Hopefully next week thanks again Earl.

Yeah I did get the Max six installed today also the light kit earlier this afternoon watching the Steelers getting their ass kicked by Buffalo!!! Waiting for it to warm up so I don’t break all the plastic arms .And mine it’s Slippy out there lol!!!

I am wondering if the wide kit helps keep stuff off of the tires out of the inside of the body a little better. I got to run my green ultimate for the first time the other day and there was about 1/2" of fresh dry powder snow over the bit of packed snow that was under it. Man it looked cool ripping around with huge rooster tails of snow behind it. It looked like a race boat going across a lake. When I was done I got back in my garage to blow it off with an air hose and man oh man the inside was packed in solid with snow. I couldn't see the batteries or anything else except for the green glow through the snow from the ESC. It took well over an hour to clean out all the snow and dry everything out.
Well you did it to me. I placed an order for a green one today and it shipped out. Should have it by the weekend. Buying a regular Xmaxx and upgrade the servo, hubs, etc plus a set of belted tires mounted I am looking at almost as much as the Ultimate with none of the bling. May as well spend the bit more now and everything is pretty much done up front.
Your best bet is Loctite 495 Its what we use in the shipyard to bond o rings for highly critical shaft seals when we cant vulcanize. Works for my wheels too lol

I like my center diff almost locked up. Really like the look of the wide kit but I'm wondering did you loose any ground clearance? Site would like to see them side by side out at the old Bmx spot #bigBertha . I can't afford the wide kit right now anyway but it would be cool to see you bash em up in the hills cheers Eman
If you’re taking it, off-road go ultimate just change the tyres back to the original if you want to not break gears, update them to the teeth that you’re suitable for know what this guy suitable for because everybody is at a different level
The ultimate is a pavement princess and the original is a basher. No different in the truck community. Mall crawlers and mud boggers. Built vs. Bought👍👍
I love watching your videos. I have a question. What are you doing with the batteries to not slip out out of your truck I seen you have like a blue cover what is that cause? I’m trying to put something in my batteries slip out again again.
Hey Earl . Why didn’t you go with the Max6 g2 where you can program thru Bluetooth with your phone and check temps and speed and other things that’s what I just got it with the 1250kv combo didn’t put it in yet because I’m just getting over COVID . Thanks brother keep those vids coming .
My question is why Traxxas is not selling the XRT and XMAXX kits or Rollers yet? Even though they are the RTR kings, they should consider treat this 2 RCs like the TRX4 since both platform counts with amazing 3rd party support...
Thx E. You saved me from making a dumb purchase. The additional weight has caused more issues. And those cheap aluminum parts isnt a deal. Traxxas needs a roller, I know they want to force us to buy their crappy electronics. If thus were Arrma, u would be scortched earth..lol. The regular Xmaxx is better. And those cheap aluminun parts isnt a deal, u know it and we do. And then to throw Spektrum in...uh no. FYI Arrma's warranty period is literally 12 or 13 times longer. I have an Xmaxx, but i learned from u, just replace esc and servo. Because its a form factor and once u start paying $$$ it seems to never stop. Great video.
I like me some traxxas but yea…. The reason the xmaxx is so good is because it’s the perfect ratio of tough and light. I’d rather get an scx6 for the price of the xmaxx ultimate
What issues has it caused ? I haven’t seen a single issue on any of Earl’s vids or on mine I have both a standard and ultimate Xmaxx and there’s not much of a difference in weight.
@@earlmoorhead5555 my boss never mentioned any limits when he ordered them. He was told that anything beyond 4 wasn't guaranteed to be delivered. But we definitely have 10 XRT Ultimate and 10 XMaxx Ultimate in stock, I had to load them on the shelves.
I don't think there's something right I used to love driving my cars but now it just doesn't satisfy me I'm not really interested in them anymore maybe it's because it's been over a month since I driven anything because temperatures have been in the negatives today it was 2° and next week it's supposed to be in the '30s so I'll give it a shot next week and if I'm not satisfied after driving them i may sell

The ultimate isnt a basher. Belted tires are decades over due and should be on every vehicle. Stock electrics are still junk. Not worth the money. Just buy a slider and build up tour own for less.
Killer. I had a Max 6 put in my X Max. 20/46 gearing. Running the same batteries as you. Trying to find 100 C batteries that will fit ,,,,,,,, but for the cabbage , Outcast EXB RTR 8 S is alot better value by a long shot.
I got xmaxx, first run and i broke sterering and rear bumper, now waiting for the parts and widemaxx kit, if its gonna broke every damn time im gonna sell it and thats it. I have redcat machete and bash the fuck out of it, survives every time and thats it
NOT NORMAL for an Xmaxx..... YES they break, everything does if bashing eventually. I have Xmaxxes that have lasted for years without breaking anything. Some minor changes here and there but I have another XmaXX that I jump to high heaven and yea....it's broken this and that. It's inevitable. If you found a way to break one of the most wide regarded and ONE of if NOT THE BEST RC ever made then you either got unlucky or this might not be the right fit for you. It's incredibly tough and it you can usually count on it as such! have a great day......
Im used to more wide spec, thats why im going widemaxx on it, i hope its gonna be durable. I wont change other stuff, it stays stock as it is. You got experience with widemaxx kit?
@earlmoorhead5555 I've had the xrt always breaking bulkhead, I even did that metal shim still breaks, to flat can't handle the impact like the xmaxx. Even the xrt ultimate will probably do the same, especially with added weight of aluminum stuff.
On that gear cover dont over tighten it Even Traxxas will tell you that I just snug it down Its goin into plastic Screws wont back out like on metal to metal

Just the tires and stearing servo pays for the price upgrade. It's totally worth buying in my opinion.
Id shelf that body and toss a pro graphix body on it for bashing its almost the same and you could probably color match it 👍
We have an Xmaxx and was going to add an Ultimate, but my son asked if we could just get another Xmaxx and a Maxx V2 so I just did that.

I wrap the battery in a microfiber towel to make them hold tight in the battery trays

Came with springs and recommend oil change

Kraton 8s is just so heavy and repairs are to expensive I’ve spent 1k just to run mine for 6month 🤷🏻♂️

I disagree with xrt being the ultimate basher, they're a pavement princess, now the xmaxx ultimate is a true basher in my opinion.
The XRT is better set up to do extreme jumps over the xmaxx in this format version I’ve never said it’s the ultimate basher? 😮

If I'm spending $1500 +, I'm buying a Kraken Vekta 5e. I'm not messing with a dressed up Xmaxx at that point.
