That countryside is amazing loved that well kept road was really great. Interesting that half of the community had Covid and was cut off from the rest of the world , it must have been very hard for them. Loved the Quiver tree and how it got its name.
That road to Kliprand was one of the most interesting in the area! We loved the animals and all the other sightings, it kept us entertained and made it feel a lot shorter than it actually was! 🤩
The long gravel road and surrounding landscape must present quite a sight during rare flooding events. And then the appearance of long dormant plants with their lovely blossoms cropping up everywhere as if by magic. You had quite a workout clambering up that steep incline beside the railway bridge! I felt bushed just watching you 😂 Oh, how delightful - the wildlife you spotted - what a surprise! Superb to have your drone handy for viewing the Quiver tree up close and to see those awe inspiring rocky outcrops.
Yup, this particular drive was such an incredible experience with a variety of sightings, both living and otherwise. It was such an isolated drive that we felt alone on the planet at times and we love that! And it was just gravel, gravel and more gravel. We were in our element! 🤩 Because I missed out on drone footage of the quiver tree forest, I had to make up for it. 🌴 They're so interesting with their intricate, almost ancient-looking, shapes. I just had to check out the tunnel underneath that gravel road, that was an exciting first for us. I wish a train had come by when we were there, that would've completed the picture! 😁🚇
We went through Kliprand last year in the flower season but the only thing I can remember was that there was no place where you could get some lunch or even coffee
We really loved this road to Kliprand, it was absolutely fantastic! 👌🏻Coincidentally, the shopkeeper in Kliprand just happened to close up shop for lunch as we pulled up, so we weren't able to visit the store, which I think only sells basic everyday necessities and is as far as we could see the only shop there. The landscape is super fascinating though. ⛰️
Found you're channel yesterday and I have to say, I absolutely enjoy you're content, keep up the amazing work and I want ask what drone you are using? Happy travels.
Welcome and thank you for your kind comment. 👍🏻 We're happy to hear that you enjoy travelling to all the out-of-the-way places with us. I finally took the plunge and bought my first drone, a DJI Mini SE. It's very small and compact, but does the job and is perfect for me who started flying not so long ago. I shared my drone-buying experience on our channel. Check it out, it's Episode 69. Thank you for watching! 😁🚗
That road is in such a good condition, better than a lot of the tar roads. Does that railway still run? Could your bokkie have been a grysbokkie? I dont know this area, so its good to discover it through you guys
We believe it does, yes and we think it's on the main line between Cape Town and Namibia. 🚇 We thought it was a steenbokkie, but you could very well be right. We know it was a bokkie though! 😁🦌
Ek het al so baie van Knersvlakte gehoor maar nog nooit gesien nie ek is van Namibia maar dit lyk amper soos by ons maar dit is pragtig wys jou mens kan oorleef met dit wat die Here vir jou gee geniet dit groete
The greater area certainly does resemble a desert. When leaving Loeriesfontein on the R357, one turns right on the R355, also known as Loop 6. Kliprand is on this road, approximately 100km from Loeriesfontein. 😁🚗
Are you guys being sarcastic about the road condition? just "tried" to travel the R355 today from Loeriesfontein and only got 25 ks possibly the worst dirt track i have ever been on, deep washouts, horrendous corrugations, half the track missing etc etc. Was i on the wrong track? anyhow turned around before i destroyed the Landcruiser
Nope, no sarcasm on our channel. This trip was 11 months ago though and we completed it without incident in a Renault Kwid, so I assume the condition has worsened to the extent you're describing. I'm really not sure. 🤷♂️
Its just nice to see wildlife in their own environment, carefree and happy!!!
Hi... you just showed me a town to visit in the Northern Cape... Thanks for the video 👍
You will enjoy the surrounding area as much as the town, a truly unique little place! Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍🏻

Beautiful gravel road that👌
Love the drone fotox
Thank you, it's such a beautiful area. We thoroughly enjoyed those gravel roads! 😎🚗
Nice landscape
Yes! Such a typical Karoo landscape, full of nothingness, yet so full of magic at the same time. We absolutely love it. 😍
Have you figured out yet what those shield like things were on the railbridge?
Not yet, no. My best guess is that they're there to shield the tunnel and tracks from soil and sand blowing into the tunnel and on to the tracks. 🤔🚆

Thank you, happy to hear that you enjoyed this episode. 😃
As julle my aanneem - kan julle my in Kliprand gaan aflaai. Julle kan elke 2 maande wat julle daar verby kom - vir my 'n pie en Coke bring
No worries, you may just have to wait a year or two for your pie and Coke each time! 🤪
That is honestly the longest road in the middle of nothing. It's beautiful
That is a tiny town. So private
