    Friends, don't let friends buy unfiltered, crappy lights! :)

      Too be fair...I bought myself the cheapo one a while back because at the time - I didn't know that nicer UV lights like this existed. :)

    Your collection is awesome. I am a beginner and still very confused about the uv lights.

    Does the wattage of UV torch effect the floroscence of crystals? Like 3watt vs 20watt.

    I'm glad to see that you were able to upgrade UV light some. Don't you just love how your kitchen looks with it? :)

    • @WorldofRockhounds
      @WorldofRockhounds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kitchen...bathroom...entire house. I found old mildew damages in an area I did not expect. I'm assuming from a very old roof leak before they had replaced the roof.
      But yeah...you can see things that are otherwise invisible!

    Can you recommend best protective eye wear when using the black lights?

    K-Rock and the Rockpile! How much fun with the light show. That's a great comparo between the two lights. I have one of those cheapies, need more power now! If I had your rock room, I'd just be sitting in there with the UV light for hours, I couldn't help myself. Super cool, thanks for sharing!

    Dude how much time can you spend just walking around seeing what glows. I get stuck doin it for ages sometimes. I don’t have any that hold the glow though!!! It’s just so much fun!

      Dude do your eyes go funny after using it for a while? I felt like mine do but I also could be imagining it 🤔

      @Rookie_Rockounding 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aye! The Aussie ones are green! Sweet! I’m working on a vid soon to play with my uv light… tried it out at camping but ughh… the leaves glowed a bunch more and I couldn’t spot the rocks haha!

    • @WorldofRockhounds
      @WorldofRockhounds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still have to try the other Aussie eggs to see if that all glow green but yeah, It's cool but distracting to see the foliage glow. One thing I didn't include the in video was a large rat that must've recently passed because it glowed a bright grey color and bout startled me because if I hadn't know it was there - ick...I don't even want to think about that!
      I haven't had any issues with my eyes yet but I'm sure at some point it will happen haha

    Super super cool video bro, I’m outside in the rock garden weekly at night with my uv beast.. I think Jared did a spectacular job explaining the science behind the UV lights. He also inspired me to add the UV Beast to my tools. I send people to that video all the time lol. Keep Rocking and I’ll see you Thursday

  • @DonohueLabs
    @DonohueLabs 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You mentioned it looks different in person vs on camera. One apparent difference between the lights is that the Beast reveals multiple colors, whereas the cheap-o makes them all look like shades of purple. Is that real, or does the cheap light also make them glow different colors?

    • @WorldofRockhounds
      @WorldofRockhounds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cheap light shows some color but not all them and when using an unfiltered light, there is definitely more of a purple hue and even more so on camera. I used a big unfiltered light before but it took taping a yellow lens to see things better. The better light is a huge improvement and shows more brighter colors and you don't need an additional filters to block out that purple hue.
