  • Join me as I head to Poland's Eastern capital, come and see the old city of Lublin, a shining star in Poland's belt of major cities.
    Learn some interesting facts, get a glimpse of the history and see some of the sights this place has to offer...also this is one of the best places for beer in the country...so really worth a visit!
    Brit in Poland is the genuine account of a British Expat who lives in Warsaw, through this account I want to show people what it is like to live abroad, to educate people about the country of Poland, to tell the history of Poland and to show off what this place has to offer, providing guides to locations I have visited and experiences I have taken part in.

    Nice coverage my grandparents who were jewish were from Poland, they came over around WWI and yes I lost family. I would love to visit Poland, and especially Lublin. Ah yes COVID as a nurse fully Moderna vaccinated and plan on getting a booster, maybe next Spring or Summer. I don't expect a ground breaking experience but would love to see the old city and jewish cemeteries to check names. Also stay a few days and help the local economies. Don't speak Polish but can understand yiddish and some German after living three years in the USAF sometime ago. NIce video, thank you.

      I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for sharing your story :) you can survive visiting Lublin without Polish, though can be a little tricky visiting some of the places I found, always good if you can know a few basic phrases to get by

    I didn't look at this video yet, but I'll look to it tonight, after my work. Anyway, main cities of Poland suffer of a lack of promotion as main of the people (turists) go to so-called sunny destinations. This is why main of those wonderful cities are not enough known abroad thank you and I'm looking forward to looking it tonight ! Come on Poland we love you !

    • @britinpoland2392

      Indeed, places like Krakow get so much of the spotlight in the U.K. I look forward to seeing more of Poland during the year and spreading awareness of the wonders there are to see here 😁

    • @vodkila194

      @@britinpoland2392 the problem, precisely, is that Krakow focuses all the spots; who knows Tarnow ? Bielsko Biala ? Poznan ? Rzeszow ? Torun ? ... ? ...? ?.....etc etc. Even Warsaw (which will be, in my opinion, one of the most popular european destination in a very short future) still has this old and sticking reputation of a grey and sad City (due to its past and communism times, which ended over 30 years ago !) as Warsaw is living currently a historic change (this year, an incredible number of huge projects and renovation will be achieved) and is the most dynamic european from the last 2 decades

      @@vodkila194 I now face the debate within myself on when to start travelling around the country again...with bars and restaurants closed still currently I am a little hesitant to embark on excursions, but for sure I want to hit a lot of the places you have mentioned this year.
      For the time being I will focus more on Warsaw where I am based and have already started to take advantage of museums being open again 😊

      @@britinpoland2392 lucky man ! Warsaw is just an amazing City. As I said, this year will be like an unic year, with a lot of mega projects which should be achieved : Browary Warszawskie, Art Norblin, Bohema (all these projects in the same meaning of renovation), Varso with its panoramic terrace at 230 m, Skyliner (also with a p.t.), plac "5 Rogow" will start these coming days, Mennica tower, Widok, Chmielna 89 were recently achieved, Warsaw One....and last year, Elektrownia Powisle (also renovation, just great !), and other ones probably that I'm not mentioning....

    • @britinpoland2392
      @britinpoland2392  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, Warsaw is always growing, always reinventing itself, I’ve lived here 3 years now and still I am finding new things to see in this amazing city!
      I keep putting off doing a full video on Warsaw like I have other cities because there is just so much here and I want to do it justice 😅

    I've also discovered that it mirrors our home city in that it has approx 100, 000 students who study at the 4 universities there. Apparently students account for 30% of the population making Lublin a real student city!

    • @britinpoland2392
      @britinpoland2392  3 ปีที่แล้ว
