It’s insane how consistent these drivers have to be. The difference between pole and last is literally 1 second. Anyone that plays any sim game understand how easy it is to lose a second by simply following the wrong line or braking too early. On top of all that these guys only get one chance with zero driving aids. Out of this world
Designing a Beast of a car is one thing....Finding a driver who can handle such a beast is another.... RB/Honda and Max are a match made in heaven.. It's an exiting season!

@@aniketmeshram6598 Red Bull can afford to run lower downforce serups compared to Mercedes because their car creats more downforce than the Mercedes on the car itself. So Red Bull dont need to run as much downforce as Mercedes. Means that they are faster on the straight. I could imagine Verstappen hitted Turn 1 better than Hamilton and plus the lower downforce he can gain so much time. In sector to we have another straight where the RB is faster and in the corners they are quite equal. Verstappen just did a flyer and hitted every corner perfectly in the first two sectors.

Drivers of this caliber will only start the practice sessions driving at around 60% of what they are capable of and slowly build up speed as it gets closer to the final qualifier.
Just a reminder: FIA tried to slow down merc and thats why red bull are fighting them. Red Bull technically didnt challenge, Merc just got slowed down by the FIA. Still, great racing

Max displays that dynamic performance from the 23 go-karting titles that he has from 2005 until 2013. It's just fun for him to be the best in F1 currently just like it was fun for him to demolish the karting opposition at the time. Huge multiple champion in the making.

@@KTLam I don't think it works that way. Mercedes forced the FIA back in 2009 in adopting hybrid PU as a clause to return in f1, because they already had their power unit, and we all knew how it worked ; 7 titles in row.
How come it's always such a beautiful thing to behold when a driver makes a perfectly flowing lap like this. Is it that the brain can perceive that the driver was in flow state. That state where it feels like something else takes over. Being in that state is the best feeling in the world.
