    The Tactacam Reveal SK was a complete package that contained EVERYTHING needed to include the lithium battery, solar charger, 2 straps, 6 ft. charge cable, and adjustable tilt bracket. The Reveal SK was absolutely THE BEST camera package on the market and WOULD still be if Tactacam had not discontinuted the Reveal SK so they could charge us outrageous prices for all of what USED to be INCLUDED with the Reveal SK. So now, Tactacam discontinues the Reveal SK and markets an inferior camera that comes with NOTHING exept a strap and charges us outrageous prices for all the components that USED to come INCLUDED with the Reveal SK and we are supposed to be all excited about that???????? Thanks for the great review but I think Tactacam customers and sellers should be holding Tactacam's feet to the fire over shafting it's customers by discontinuing the Reveal SK.

      Hey WR Farms! Thanks for the insight and perspective. I’m bummed I didn’t get an SK while they were available. I got 2 XBs and absolutely love those cameras. Having that solar panel on top would have been the icing on the cake for sure. I was interested/concerned with the design. Are you able to move the integrated solar panel to a different spot (away from the camera) or is it attached? Just wondering about the location of the camera as it relates to sun position. Thanks for watching and for your input! 👍🏻

      @@mountainbuck The solar panel on the SK easily detaches and can be moved to an more advantageous location on the tree or pole to get the best sun. The Reveal SK comes with a 6 ft. extension cable and extra attaching strap for moving the solar panel around. I am so pissed at Tactacam! The Reveal SK in my opinion was the PERFECT affordable & capable camera package that came with EVERYTHING you need and NOTHING you don't need.

      Hey Mike! If you have the solar panel attached, I believe it should be powering the camera itself and using the lithium cartridge as a backup. Put one out mid Oct with lithium cartridge on pic+vid mode and it’s already down to 50%. I’m not sure that’s it’s still even capturing as I had a buck walk right by it in the stand yesterday. The camera says it’s been active for x amount of hours still but I’m a bit disappointed. Meanwhile my regular battery cam has been up since September and it still reads 100%.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah man… do you have it set up on a feeder where it’s going to get tons of action? This should be performing better than standard AA batteries. I will say, I’m a bigger fan of the solar panel.

      @@mountainbuck No brother, I live in Maine where baiting is illegal. That cell is on a natural funnel I’ve killed 2 big bucks on and a monster I’ve been after for 3 years was on it 10/24 and twice last fall, so it’s a vital piece of intel for my target. I don’t wanna have to keep charging the lithium cartridge and putting my scent there. I don’t understand why it’s getting drained so fast when tactacam claims it’s such a long lasting alternative. I’m sadly going to just throw AA energizers in it like my other cell that’s still at 100%. Doesn’t make any sense

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey same here. Baiting is illegal in PA. That definitely shouldn’t be draining that quickly. I’d reach out and see if you could exchange it or get credit at least and maybe pick up that solar panel. I did a three month test on the solar panel and it was still at 100% after three months. It was positioned in an open area in the woods with good sun, but I’ve also had good results in filtered sun environments. Best of luck getting that buck 🦌

    I'm skeptical of product review when the reviewer gets the product for free. I love tactacam and the solar power pack works perfectly. Thanks for your review man. I run 4 Tactacams in the Adirondacks - average distance, 4 miles one way. So zipping in and swapping a cartridge? Eh... not so much. Definitely not impressed by the 50% decrease in 1 month. However, my cameras might take a MAXIMUM of one pic/video per day. Way less than yours took. Still, I'm thinking the Solar Panels are going to be best for me. What do you think? Also, do you worry about the Solar Panel cord ripping out in strong winds or with falling branches etc?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Joel! Thanks for the positive feedback! I’ve gotta say, I’d pick the solar panels personally (especially if you have areas that get sunlight. I’ve tested the panels for months and the battery has stayed at 100% the entire time (I have a three month review video on this). I’m not really concerned with wind or anything as the plugs are pretty secure. If you have a deep woods spot that doesn’t get much sunlight (even if it’s filtered light), you may want to consider a cartridge for that one. Thanks for watching and best of luck with whatever you decide 👍🏻

I was really hopeful when they came out with the lithium battery but even more so bummed when I found out that the solar panel does not charge the lithium battery...I know it's not in your field or power to change (maybe the powers that be see your posts and can change/fix the issue) but it would be so nice if the panels could do double-time and charge the battery as well. Why not? With technology being what it is today this seems like it would be such an easy addition.
