Jon and the Band Geeks will soon be touring again. Go see them if you can. And, they have another album in the works. “True” was the greatest surprise of the year in 2024.

Another nice reaction, JP! "Counties" is one of my favorites on the album. That synth solo reminded so much of Wakeman on the Minimoog! It was Christopher Clark doing the solo, btw. Jon Anderson is still such an amazing singer (now 80 years old!) and songwriter. But he needs a group of like-minded, virtuoso musicians around him to succeed on this level, which he has definitely found in The Band Geeks. _You got a beautiful day. You got a beautiful day, today!_

Jon has said that he sent a demo of this song to the other members of Yes some years ago as possible material for another album but Chris and Steve rejected it. It probably sounded quite sketchy and folksy, but unlike the old days, they couldn't hear the potential for development. The Band Geeks did and effectively imagined their own version of what it would be like if Yes had accepted it and expanded it out into a full blown 70s progressive rock track.

Can't believe you are just Reacting to this. It's taken me many listens to keep up & familiarize myself with the ever-evolving arrangement. The rich complex rhythms interspersed with Jon's delicious melodies is so tasty & satisfying. Such an incredible modern beautiful work so reflective & worthy of the greatness of classic YES!

Amazing track from the album that shows how Jon can rise up and prove who was the soul of Yes all along, and how a healed heart and aligned spirit is all you need to keep it going for all your life - he's still got it all.

I have tix to see them in April and I'm super jazzed, haven't seen Jon live in about 20 years since the classic Yes line-up did an anniversary tour... always a great live performer. Diggin' this album so far and looking forward to hearing some of it live.

The world was once people by good people, and Jon is an avatar of that world. The world is growing darker, and his light may well find less resonance today, ass deep in our Kali Yuga.
The album is a bit of a miracle. A gift to Humanity. A plea that we not lose it.

Seeing this song here to start the day put me in a good mood!!! I've type it before, but the Band Geeks are pretty much the perfect band for Jon's music today. They compliment him perfectly. You're right Kip did the organ solo and Clark did the synth solo. It is kind of like having Tony Kaye and Rick Wakeman in the same band. I believe Richie's keyboard contributions were basic tracking parts when Kip and Clark weren't available.

What I deduced from this track was it appeared the band was paying homage to classic Yes by using an organ solo reminiscent of Tony Kaye and a synth solo reminiscent of Rick Wakeman. And the guitars were definitely Howe-inspired. 👍

HI Justin. Dave from London, where the sun is coming out (It Will Be A Good Day). The strongest track on the album, from what I've heard. Nice melody, sweet vocals from Jon (staggering for an 80 year old), and some terrific musicianship (I agree about the organ solo), which unlike some parts of the album, is not too intense.
P.S. my song ref It Will Be A Good Day is from The Ladder.

I find, the best things from Yes in the last years came from Former-Members. I liked Rick Wakemans "Red Planet", "Jacaranda" and "Rio" from Trevor Rabin much more than the latest Yes-Albums. And also nice to see that Jon Anderson discovered in his old days the good old prog. "Knowledge of Invention" and this album are strong Prog-Albums. Ok, i would put it behind every Yes Album from the 70s and early 80s and his masterwork "Ollias of Sunhillow", but nice to hear from Jon. Very impressive Band.. and although impressive to see, that Jon seems to lost nothing of this vocal-qualities.

If u want to give Grobschnitt a second chance, i highly recommend "Solar Music LIVE"

Tremendous. A few tracks from the album are a little weak to me, but songs like this redeem it. The musicianship is clearly on a par with the best of Yes and the hooks are so strong without too much noodling. RIP Chris, but I think he would love the bass work here 😊

I wonder what Steve Howe thinks of this album. I reckon that if you asked 100 long-time Yes fans which was better - this or Mirror to the Sky, 80% would say this. Even 100 non-Yes fans might have the same result. Anyone know what the sales figures for each were?
