I totally agree with you. I'm very fond of Simple Minds and i listen to their band every day since 1985... Michael is a great Keyboard Player for ever more. I was so sad when he left Simple Minds in 1991.

You nailed the sound! As a synth guy snd a Simple Minds fan, I salute you. It sounds like three sound layers - the Rhodes piano, the choir, and I'm hearing an analog style bass.

Unfortunately I don't have any score of this I just listened and tried to reproduce, however if it is useful the chords are B A D E and in this version he plays almost exclusively the fifths at least on the B and the E without the third, a very recurring characteristic in his style

You guessed it! The piano is the simulation of the CP 80 they used at the time.

It's a CP Piano emulation with two synths but now I've lost that exact combination, damn it!!! haha
