Spencer is and will always be my favorite survivor character. Everything from his distifunctional tribe, to his play from the bottom, even till the end, he was always smart and good with all the opportunities given to him
I feel the same way! My first season of Survivor I watched second chance, and when I watched it as a nine year old kid, I naturally loved Spencer as he shares a first name with me (and 9 year olds get so excited whenever someone shares a name lol) I was crushed when he didn't when Cagayan. After watching Cambodia I was an even bigger fan of him. He is amazing

True and it shows how great he was socially and strategically because he was such a challenge beast but that is indeed the most underrated part of his game because the other parts were so great.
@@thebigboofer3826 If you’re going to be a challenge beast, don’t look like a challenge beast. It helps you get further and that’s what happened with Spencer. Good on him.
Spencer is so lucky he was on the bottom the whole game because when he’s on the top of an alliance he is a massive villain and would not be as well liked for sure. That being said Spencer is one of my favorite players and I usually root for villains.
Spencer is in my top 5 favorite survivor players. He has the big 3 of being strong mentally, physically and strategically. He can get arrogant, and doesn't put his faith in the right people, but he plays a good game, fights hard, and never gives up it's a shame all the bad luck he would have. I would definitely like to see him play for a third time.
Fun fact that maybe a lot of big survivor fans don’t know. Garrett Adelstein is one of the top poker players in the world and truly a nice and solid person all around. This was probably the worst he’s ever done at anything in his entire life.
Same goes for J'tia, she graduated early out of high school and was the first black woman to get a PhD in her university Also to add on Garrett, he graduated class valedictorian(he does tell this to the audience) and graduated summa cum laude(with highest honors) They're smart but clearly they are not up for survivor

As much as I cheered for Spencer, looking back I realized he behaved pretty immaturely. The way he talked to Woo in his final tribal speech was incredibly condescending and disrespectful. Sure it’s not worst thing ever on survivor, but pretty classless
He mocks him pretty relentlessly in confessionals too, which always rubbed me the wrong way as well. Like you said, far from the worst thing on Survivor, but Woo just seems so easygoing and harmless that it reflects poorly on Spencer. His "zero chance of winning this game" quote is also so whiny, though there I can at least understand being in the heat of the moment and seeing Kass seemingly obliterate both her own and his game for no logical reason.

Honestly I sometimes wonder if J'tia pouring the rice actually SAVED her bc think about it.. they were all annoyed at Garrett for being so dumb about things, but then the rice being poured out was caused directly by him telling J'tia she's going. She wouldn't have done it if he didn't do that. And so even though she did it.. he was kind of at blame, and since they were already pissed at him for trying to control everyone, it pushed them even further toward him.
Cagayan has to be the best season of survivor. It was the first one I watched and the craziest to say the least. So many memorable players and so many twists. So good.
currently rewatching this season and I can say that he definitely tried a little too hard to be funny at times. He knew what was going on but he felt it was necessary to say it too often... telling cass she had no chance to win when she flipped, little condescending things here and there... quick question: if Spencer was in the final two with Tony, who wins? i think Spencer could win because most of the jury were mad at Tony. Tony wins against woo or kass but against Spencer I'm pretty sure Tony loses.
I’d argue Tony only won because of Spencer on the jury, so if he was in the final two with him, it’s possible he would be the more like able option and he could definitely back up his game as a smart player with multiple challenge wins. Plus, he could also paint the Charlie Brown narrative himself.
This final 2 never could've happened. I'm quite sure that despite his spiel at the final 4 tribal council, Spencer had no intention of taking Tony to final 2. He had showed too much respect for Tony lying on the names of his children to then turn around and pretend he'd be selfless and honorable; you'd have to be foolish to believe him. And obviously, Tony knows better than to take Spencer to final 2 when he could just take an easy win against whichever of Woo or Kass makes it there.

My favorite character probably as Cagayan was the first season I watched and of the Underdog story which I always love to root for. Unfortunately in Cambodia although making the final 3 his earlier game and social game hindered his way to winning. I believe in Cagayan he could have possibly either A. Convince Woo and Kass to Vote Tony "out" at final 5 flushing his super idol (obviously not knowing about the power but then because he won immunity it would come down to Either Kass, Woo, Or Trish and most likely Trish goes home as its a 3v1 and if he does not win immunity the next challenge (preferably he does) he convinces Kass and Woo to vote out Tony as Tony no longer has the Idol works. And finally, win the Final immunity which I can see him Winning!
Tony showed he had another idol besides the super idol at 5 and he played it even though he got no votes he wasn't going anywhere even if Spencer did try to strike at him which would then let him still do his super idol bluff
The title of this video gave me a huge chuckle because I JUST finished watching this season for the first time and I made the same charlie brown comparison the 3rd time Kass betrayed him lmao
This was my first season and he was instantly my favorite. He is still my favorite survivor player and I really enjoyed this video. I hope they made another Hero Vs. Villains season with Spencer on heros.
Bro Spencer was one of the most unlucky players I can remember, it felt like he would always make good decisions but he was always dealt a shit hand so it didn’t matter
Spencer has had some of the worst luck in survivor history, but he was always at his best when he was playing from the bottom. That's why he's one of my favorites like Jeff said even though nothing went right for Spencer he never gave up. I believe the best players aren't the one who dominate and have everything go their way (ex-Rob in 22 or Kim in 23), they're the ones who can adapt when things go wrong.
I understand that Spencer was pissed off when he was voted out, i mean he NEVER really got a break at all this season, he was always on the bottom throughout the game, he had a to do a lot of scrambling, win a lot of challenges, he was the only one who really was able to play onto Tony's paranoia, and then to come up 48 hours short of making it to the end. Tasha made the mistake that cost her game when she didn’t try for the advantage at the auction. Her and Spencer are on the bottom together and making the odds 2 out 3 in their favor against Tony could have saved them. Too bad cause I like John of them.
Kass pissed me off so much this season it's unreal and it's no wonder no one liked her when she got to Ponderosa. How could you betray everyone in the game and somehow expect to win votes on the jury? It's totally unreal. And the 'sexism' angle she leans on to justify her behavior is such a weak cope that I can't believe she actually believes it.
I would LOVE to see the full unedited footage of Tasha, Kass, and Sarah talking when it appears that Tasha is just being a total btch toward Kass.. idk the whole scene felt so weird to watch and it felt out of character the way Tasha was acting. I just wonder if the editing made it seem different, to go along with Kass's confessional afterwards when she was pissed. Idk but either way I'd still like to see how that full conversation went lol
Cagayan was the first season I ever saw, and I LOVED him. The whole rest of my family actually hated him so much and I couldn't figure out way. 2 years later, i finally understand. edit: I also HATED tony, and now he is one of my favorites.
Everyone talks about Wentworth's from the bottom game in Cambodia (and rightfully so), Spencer arguably did it better this season. Had he played his idol correctly for Jeremiah, he probably wins the whole season.
Pretty great competitor and entertaining to watch in his runs on the show. But after hearing some of his personal opinions and conspiracy theories after the show, I'm glad this guy never ended up as sole survivor.
21:20 ummm there actually has been a second advantage at the auction in I think caramoan or south pacific (one of Cochran's seasons I'm pretty sure) they had one idol and one advantage and everyone was shocked that there was a second. And those seasons were fairly recent then so Tasha wasn't being ridiculous for thinking there may be another.
Where is Tony's story in Cagayan? I subscribe to patreon to find Cochrans FvF game, Boston Rob's RI game, Tony's Cagayan game, and Tysons BvW game, but none are there ):
Hey there, we are currently working on the Cook Islands set of story videos, which voting recently ended on. I am going through the Survivor seasons chronologically so any video that takes place past season 13, as of now, is because we reached a patron goal and you all get to pick a story video from any season about any player. For example, Jonathan Penner of Survivor: Philippines was voted on and is available to be watched now.
How is Spencer's statement on Cass a "sexist remark" yet when Cass says "of course he played the idol for himself, who's more arrogant than a 21 year old male", that isn't? C'mon, if you are going to say one is then both are. Not that I agree that either comment was inherently sexist at all

He’s a legend for sure, but I don’t think he will be back sadly
This is a nitpick but I think Good Grief would be a better title
I resent Kass being considered a goat. She made some huge moves.
What the hell kind of strategic value was pouring the rice supposed to serve? Even hypothetically I don't get it.
deff my favorite player in survivor history
Heck yeah! One of my all time favorites!
Thank God his video came
Tony was insane this season idk if there was a video made on him but he was such a good player for a noob
I loved Spencer. He was a really good player!
Cant wait to see tony and kass videos
I would LOVE to see the full unedited footage of Tasha, Kass, and Sarah talking when it appears that Tasha is just being a total btch toward Kass.. idk the whole scene felt so weird to watch and it felt out of character the way Tasha was acting. I just wonder if the editing made it seem different, to go along with Kass's confessional afterwards when she was pissed. Idk but either way I'd still like to see how that full conversation went lol
Thought he was going to end up winning with the intro to the final episode haha
Cagayan was the first season I ever saw, and I LOVED him. The whole rest of my family actually hated him so much and I couldn't figure out way. 2 years later, i finally understand.
edit: I also HATED tony, and now he is one of my favorites.
Everyone talks about Wentworth's from the bottom game in Cambodia (and rightfully so), Spencer arguably did it better this season. Had he played his idol correctly for Jeremiah, he probably wins the whole season.
I could agree with that
He wins it free if kass doesn't blindside there 6 man alliance immediately
Spencer was entertaining, but pretty arrogant. I guess he had the physical game to back it up. Not a fan of him outside of the game.
Shame this guy went crazy. Was one of my faves
Pretty great competitor and entertaining to watch in his runs on the show. But after hearing some of his personal opinions and conspiracy theories after the show, I'm glad this guy never ended up as sole survivor.
Wait, spill the tea. You can't just leave us on a cliffhanger like that.
tyysmmmm greatt vidddd
We need Cambodia Charlie Brown video 😎
Woo is my all time favorite player
I really liked Woo, but even I knew there was no way he was winning by picking Tony for the final
he is my favorite survivor player ever and one of the best to never win
To this day I'm getting a fat dip of that guac.
This dude reminds me of Wes so much of MTV The RW/RR challenge. Same mannerisms and all lmao
@@OnceUponAnIsland I see. But Erika from s41 got her winner story before any of the season 20-29 folks still
How is Spencer's statement on Cass a "sexist remark" yet when Cass says "of course he played the idol for himself, who's more arrogant than a 21 year old male", that isn't? C'mon, if you are going to say one is then both are. Not that I agree that either comment was inherently sexist at all
The video is about Spencer not Kass, so I am more focused on his actions. Kass' actions will be evaluated if she gets a story video.
