My dad was a ranger. He passed when I was 16 years old. I have the up most respect for our rangers, and navy seals. Even though a ranger and a seal will both say one is better then the other. To me I just have crazy respect for our men and women in our military. Our seals, and our rangers is exactly why we can allow our military to go woke, because you would be wrong if you think the higher ups are not trying to push a woke agenda though out all branches of our military right now. Leave our military alone. There is a reason why our military is the best in the world. So stop trying to make our military woke. It’s absolutely disrespectful to all of our men and women that have survived war, gave their lives, and to all the veterans that came before us and made our country the most powerful, and greatest country in the world to live in.

Father was a green beret and a ranger. 9 combat deployments, and was in the initial invasion in 03. O7 to all rangers
Thank you for his service first of all. With all due respect you cannot be a Ranger and a green beret you can be Ranger qualified serving as a Green Beret. Just thought it was odd never heard of that you can't be both but it's interesting and I bet he was a badass❤

1) Start Running three days a week, by time you get 18 you need to be at 5 miles in under 30 minutes.
Tryout for your school’s track team, cross country team. Also tryout for wrestling, it will teach you stamina and to endure hardship in the pre-condition phase until you can make the team.
2) Start a regular workout routine, push-ups, sit-ups, mountain climbers, and pull-ups. No weights until after you are 16 y/o.
3) This is all about developing a NEVER GIVE UP or QUIT mindset.

And yeah, start running, lifting some weights.
Eat healthy, stay in shape.
You get out of life what you put into it.

Sure maybe they’re lightweights and join the 82 for Clean Sweeps but even 173 is elusive. Still a ranger if they’ve done RASP and got their tabs and berets and still able to join the 75. Staying in is the hard part, getting in is easy.

Started in the 3rd and was attached to a unit that went to South America. Spent the majority of four years there. Came back to the atates and made a night jump and broke my wrist. Got discharged medically.

I've personally watched ranger night jumps from the ground. They always jumped into heavily wooded areas, from a lower than normal jump height.

Right after he got out of basic training, they had him on standby for Afghanistan, he sent me a song called (If I don't make it back), he said "Never worry or think of me while I'm in the field, if I die just know it was doing something I always wanted to do"

Wish I was one. Was told by my recruiter I could go any time. After Airborne school. I was the first to step forward for RASP. Was told I did not have a combat mos and could not go. I was deviated. I worked with the Rangers Phipps and Floyd who were in Somalia.

You don't have to be a combat MOS to be in the Ranger Regiment. Or are you talking about getting the Ranger tab?
Bro, there's always a need for combat arms & support. You could have put in to be a Combat Medic. Army loves cross training you into combat arms. I went from MP to Combat Medic to 10th Mountain Division "Light Infantry"😜🤣😝 you rise in rank fairly quickly up to Sargeant too. PLDC, BNOC, then you really start to earn your money. But hey, we get it brother, that's one thing about the army. You get b.s. advice and you don't know, what you don't know, until after the fact.🤠👊🏾😎👍🏾

I really like that they allow the family to put on the ranger tab. You have no idea how much that will mean ti the family when husband and dad is gone mins to 18 months at a time. It helps them understand the significance of what their father their husband is signed up for

@@MikeRogers44 That was some very tough combat. I salute your Grandfather. My Grandfather was also in the 38th during WW2. He got sick right before they deployed over there. He was reassigned to another unit and ended up in France. While in heavy combat there, he was badly wounded by a sniper, but did recover. The sniper was eliminated by his buddy with a BAR. And the sniper turned out to be a French female civilian who was aiding the Germans. After healing up, Grandpa finished out the war in England, guarding German POW"s. Ive always had an interest in history, and the military, and Grandpa shared alot of stories with me over the years. My Dad also was enlisted with the 38th in the 60's, when I was very young. He served in the same Guard Unit that I was in. And my youngest son did an enlistment with the same Guard Unit a few years ago. He was a 13 Bravo on a 155mm Howitzer.
