  • In this video, I replaced the sides of the MOD mold with microscope slides to see what happens when you fill a cavity with composite. Note what happens as the dental instrument tries to push it in.
    The benefits of using heated composite are clear. Also bulk-fill composites should be incrementally placed, but then they can be bulk-cured.

    It would seem that using flowable in the bottom of the box would address the flow and void issues, like in a PVS imression. Also using a big increament in the initial example and then using the unidose tip in the warmed example is not exactly apples to apples.

    Just one question , if I heated the composite , will there be a pulp inflammation due to heat or not ????

      Its gonna be warm enough to flow better but not that hot that it would cause a pulpal reaction
