Ive watched many videos about locks lately, but yours was the most comprehensive guide one thing these guides always miss: Should you go for mining+engi and drop mining later for tailoring, or you should go straight to engi+ tailoring. I would think that would be expensive. Hovever, we still dont know if they changed any professions or not…
thanks a lot aybcd, I learned a few things since the video: 1) amp curse is definitely good even in pve (slightly more dps in an average raid fight compared to 1 more rank of drain life or curse of agony. 2) there were spell cooldowns posted on the wowhead here www.wowhead.com/classic/news/all-runes-in-the-blizzcon-demo-wow-classic-season-of-discovery-335895 which gives us better insight - for example haunt seems to be 12sec cd which makes it worse than I expected. chaos bolt seems better than expected as well. as for mining/eng, mining+ eng first. then drop mining and pick up tailoring. just have to collect all the cloth as you level@@aybcd
I think the way to go is full Affliction and use Master channeler. 1 point into Night Fall with both Corruption AND Drain Life dots rolling giving you a 4% chance to prod an instant shadow bolt is huge!
yep 100% agree tren. one thing I noticed was that amp curse is actually slightly better than 5/5 in life drain. you get a tiny b it more damage with 4/5 life drain 5/5 curse. though extra health from life drain is always a plus. havent calced the nightfall procs but my guess is it's 100% the best course of action. probably going to be the strongest pvp spec next to hunter too
It would not surprise me in later phases that buffs will start to become road wide not party wide. If you look at most of the runes for all classes they seem to come from WotLK or TBC (not all of course) I saw about lvl50+ mainly with greater buffs (priest Druid mage) if so, then these runes might change like demonic pack. I do wonder tho y’all think there will runes that increase SP off other stats like pallies in wrath? If so that will be nice for the meta, Ie “in meta from increase your speed power by 40% of your total stam or int” that would be nice!
I would very much like SP for paladin. Holy Shockadin is my favorite spec in tbc. Do you know if holy shockadin works the same way in classic? Is it just never played because the stats are bad?
hi sessinger, no builds yet, but meta warlock with master channeler should be bis. frost mages for 1v1 as well, but i'll play fire mage. hunter should also be bis for 1v1, very very strong.
it's great for leveling but doesn't directly increase your leveling speed much. searing pain is like 30 damage and you barely have any armor early. the reason to get meta for leveling is the increased life tap, your mana will be insane. and the aoe cleave looks to be about 30 dmg to 3 targets so you can dot -> aoe 3 mobs at once
2:05 if Drain Life is no longer channeled with the Master Channeler rune, what's the point in putting 3 points in Fel Concentration? It helps avoiding interruption of just Drain Soul (you only use it to farm shards when a mob is low anyway) and Drain Mana. Seems kind of a waste of 3 points to me
you are right - should 5/5 drain life and drop the rest of the points into coa or suppression or amp curse. my original plan was to run lake of fire for aoe farming and I didn't think about the build changes there. I'll update the link below the video with a new improved build
@@NOHITJEROME I like it - I'd probably go for max Drain Life and drop that extra point into Amplify Curse. Improved CoA gives you +6% damage at best, Amplify Curse is a 3 min cooldown but it gives you +50%. And if needed, it can buff two other curses as well, makes your utility generally stronger so I think it's very worth picking, especially since it's so cheap
yes im really specting play as a warlock/affly for pvm and pvp in this face. I mean destro looks amazing with that chaos bolt but u need so many thinks befor throw it and vanilla is not like wotlk where u drop that stun area and then charge that chaos bolt.
I agree, affliction is the play. Destruction damage looks amazing, but who is going to let you stand there and cast on them? Better to rot down 3+ targets at once with dots
@NOHITJEROME yes even that is so many class really strong at low lvl like rogues, mages and hunters and as u sed they not gonna let u cast that chaos. And those affly runes gives a lot of sustain so you can smash if you kite them.
I calculated 27 heals per second base healing from life drain with talents/rune. That's insanely high - in PvP most classes will probably do 100 DPS or less (not confirmed number, but still)@@andrewrodriguez4010
Can u tell me how am i supposed to use Spellpower Googles Xtreme if recipe requires 225 skill to be used + 215 engi to wear them and right now professions are capped on 150?
ret looks insanely good. i'll start with priest since I know priest well, then lock, then warrior. hopefully 2 characters in the first 4 days so I can pvp on lock more@@Unexsist
I cut a line about that. since you barely get any cloth gear, it seems bad. 500% armor bonus on white cloth bracers is pretty rough. you get so much more armor at 25 with preraid bis and the raid itself throws armor gear at you for locks
@@NOHITJEROME Don't forget it also doubles the mana you get back from life tap. Also shadow cleave. You can dot 3 mobs, drain life on one, shadow cleave them down. You can already drain tank 3 mobs comfortably without meta, so the bonus armor is irrelevant. The increased dps and fewer necessary mana taps are huge.
it's true I undervalued the life tap doubling. feels like it's possible the meta will be too strong for all situations and you run it everywhere except raids (if you are dpsing). far and away my choice for pvp right now@@jaytee9111
Your Warlock tank gear isn't really on point. You want agility for 1agi=2 armor and x500 from meta so 1agi = 10 armor. You want to stack Stam=Agility>Armor and you should be around 2K hp and 2250 armor (47% reduction) in meta.
hi raskelot, I am driving the agi train too. though 2 armor from agi is not that much, the dodge chance increase is underrated. I believe 99% of players will prefer to stack stamina pre-bis and then there is new agi+stam+armor gear in the raid. there just isn't much cloth agi+armor+stam+int gear available. spell damage gear makes more sense since I have a lot of concerns about warlock aoe threat (though ST is great)
hunter very op in pvp in p1. can't imagine anyone beating them 1v1. even with the new runes it's the same problem as always, they can run away forever@@henrybustos6974

@NOHITJEROME Thanks for great guide video! What's your build choice will be for 1vs1 pvp situation? Can you share some your favorite build links? 😊
hi sessinger, no builds yet, but meta warlock with master channeler should be bis. frost mages for 1v1 as well, but i'll play fire mage. hunter should also be bis for 1v1, very very strong.
Tanklock is all I've ever wanted.
me too, let's get it. do you have any builds in mind so far? mine is more affliction based than most
can we go metamorphosis for leveling too or is it recommended level 25 just for tanking in general

try this now - www.wowhead.com/classic/talent-calc/warlock/25002510001_156mv76vya6mk - max drain life vs max coa is the real question.
