  • I know, I'm sorry it has been farrrrr too long since I last uploaded a video! Over a month!
    Here is a little update on Remi-
    He is thriving. Remi has been growing like crazy and getting very strong. If you look closely you can see how thick his fur is and how healthy his veins are in his hands, these are both signs of a healthy monkey:). Remi is still on a bottle, but we are beginning to really introduce him to solid foods like fruits and vegetables. He definitely favors the solid food over his bottle which can be both good and bad. We have solved this issue by making him home made baby food which is completely organic and a good source of all his daily nutritional value. This is done by combining organic rice cereal, blended fruit and veggies, and a heavy amount of the organic goats milk formula. He loves this food...and being spoon fed. I made a video of me feeding Remi this concoction a little while ago you should definitely check that out if you haven't seen it!
    On a side note, my notifications for this channel continued to absolutely BLOW UP during that one month absence and that is so awesome! We love to read the comments and if you haven't noticed I try to respond to most people! So keep them coming! One of Remi's videos has hit almost 10K views which is really cool!
    I love Remi to death and it is clear that you guys do to so thank you so much for the support I look forward to continue sharing Remi's life with y'all via this channel!

    Welcome back Remi & Logan! It's nice to see a baby capuchin growing up. There are tons of videos, but not a lot of "growing up" from being a baby. I would like to see the good and the "difficulties" of owning a monkey. It will be interesting to see your journey. Thanks again for sharing!

      He is a good kid, Just needs to remove the stuffy. This is just a case where the owner doesn't understand the difficulties something as seemingly insignificant as a stuffy can cause later in life. Wish we had more young men like him around. I'm sure he'll get it all figured out.

      @remithemonkey392  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Li Ruff Neck Thank you for watching! And yes, this is something that has been up for discussion around our household. His K9's are growing in now and let me tell you they are SHARP like little razors. Im not a fan of declawing cats, let alone pulling out Remi's primary teeth. The only reason it would be a good idea is because once those are fully grown they could seriously cause some damage if he were to ever bite someone in public (which I don't think he would ever do). So long story short we have been discussing what we will do but have not made a decision.

    Monkey Lillian Louise's breeder says there is no reason to wean from bottle. If she enjoys having a bedtime bottle give it to her. Lillian is 5 years old. She often has a morning bottle, too. Judy grinds up monkey biscuits and mixes with banana and a little water. She puts a variety of fruits and veggies in her bottles. Of course, she eats a wide variety of foods in her high chair. Lillian is also a white faced capuchin.

    OMGOSH!!!! I am so in love with that little baby!!! Thank you for sharing his video on YT, I've been looking for a new video daily!!! I'm seriously considering adopting another one, my first one is growing up and will be going to college in about three and a half years lol!! And if she goes far enough away that she can't drive home on weekends, I'm gonna be a lonely Momma. Trouble is, my husband is terrified of monkeys, which I find hilarious but shamefully still laugh anyway!! ( 6'3" and 260 pounds and a hunting enthusiast, and I'm still killing spiders for him... more laughter!! ) But I'm considering bringing a Marmoset home, you know, I could pass it off as a guinea pig with funny hair and a crazy-long tail......lol!!! I'm hoping I can show him enough videos and maybe he'll warm to the idea!! Please keep little Remi's videos coming, I'm sure many people love that little schnitzel, I think he's just adorable, and you can see he trusts you, and you are so responsible and caring, a truly wonderful Monkey Papa!!!!

    It's very important to have the baby monkey attached to you and not a stuffy. They have major psychological problems later in life if they stay on a stuffy too much. This is crucial to not only their mental development but their physical development as well. Capuchins are a canopy monkey so their mom would almost never put them down and they need to be clinging on to a person as they move just like they would be their mother. So stay away from stuffys people please.

    • @PrimateProductions
      @PrimateProductions 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BENJIR2D2 oh my gosh...not at all!! Upon looking at the comment just now again i can see where one _might_ have seen it as such ..but no..I was being 100 percent sincere in what i said because i absolutely agree with 100 percent of what you said!! As far as saying I was glad to see you passing along such info to others that also was completely sincere because it is rare to find anyone who gets at least part of it correct much less ALL of it correct!! I apologize if it came across in any way other than how i intended it

    • @BENJIR2D2
      @BENJIR2D2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so sorry, Gina. I saw the wink and I thought you were just picking a fight. I guess I'm too sensitive lol but I have to defend a lot of what I say. Sorry Gina. Have a great day!

    • @PrimateProductions
      @PrimateProductions 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BENJIR2D2 Honey trust me..if there is anyone who understands about having to defend their self regarding what they say..it is ME!! I am quite sure that you could not have missed seeing that happen often LOL! Since we obviously feel very much the same as far as primates go then I can guess you would be in the same boat! It is interesting though that because of the winky face that you thought the opposite of what I actually intended it to mean..so therein may lie some of my problems..I often have people get upset at things that blow my mind and I often am left wondering why.. I have often included a winky face as a friendly gesture and now maybe that is not such a good idea!! I am glad that you mentioned it.

  • @magpiesmyth3262
    @magpiesmyth3262 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey an idea for the monkey biscuit problem, have you tried just looking up the nutrients monkeys need and then look up what foods are highest in those nutrients .. odds are he'd much prefer that over those at best bland tasting biscuits all the time ( I don't know shit when it comes to monkeys I'm just making a guess)

    Excessively dry foods like monkey biscuits suit the needs of zoo managers and handlers where multiple competitive animals are housed in excessively small spaces but they are not best for an animal's kidney health, especially over the long term. Try to familiarize them with a brand he will like.. you may be able to make your own and add some aromatic ingredients that the buyers of the mass produced food would not afford. It is too bad that he has had a bad experience with them from early on. The other opting might be to reformulate very small batches of the monkey biscuit by crushing and adding something savory and aromatic that he likes... you will have to experiment to find something that doesn't have too much refined sugar (preferably none) and a small amount of salt might might be a place to start. There are mineral enriched muds from jungles that are sold for parrots, while they will not be savory he might find it appealing if it was reconstituted and money biscuit were add to it. Alternatively you might consider a small amount of low salt tamari dried and dusted into the crumbles buscuit. High quality seasoned salts from the health food store such as "Herbamare" made by A.Vodel brand in France which might because it us so mild plus it ads healthy dried mild seasonings to sea salt such as kelp, celery, leek, cress, parsley chives, basil, rosemary, thyme, etc. It isnt cheap but they have tiny free samples of about a quarter of an ounce which the company might mail to you if you ask. Also, if you order it specially ask for the 4.4 oz size otherwise if they get the big one for you it will cost a lot before you know if it will help. A way to introduce him to the vegetable based seasonings is to steam some vegetables that he likes and if he is having them for the first time serve them lukewarm after melting a little salted butter on it and once he likes that lightly add the Herbamare. In time you can see if he likes it on a biscuit. You might try individual seasonings like fresh dill, or the one that tastes like licorice, whose name escapes me now, but do use fresh seasonings chopped up and added to a little melted butter to introduce him to new tastes and drizzle the seasoned butter over lightly steamed vegetables, particularly the young versions when they are available. But otherwise, aside from introducing him to the biscuits, feeding him that way is the highly institutionalized method intended to prevent fighting over food and overeatibg due to boredom but he doesn't have to be subjected to that when you are able to feed him wonderful fresh foods that he will love and keep him happy.

    This is what is sad too. Monkeys are not pets they belong in their own habitat with their family. They are important to our ecosystem and spread seeds all over the forests for trees and shrubs and more the do. yet groups are working to stop the sales puppy mills of breeding these little wild creatures and what the have endured to get into these people's homes having the babies and mom's traumatized, ripped apart for you toy. They never got to have a mommy and daddy and siblings to love and play and forage and grow with just people who control their lives,put them in cages till they have time for it. There are groups to stop the videos of abuse and lucky if the animal taken away. Then there are the people doing their cute little videos worse the ones who make it look cute but abusive when the camera is off which many ignorant people think their is no abuse, don't understand their sounds and expressions are not cute I love you I miss you or a bunch of other nonsense when they are really distress calls,calling for mom or a mental problem because of their captivity by the good and bad. Cute videos need to stop. they are for profit too just as the bad ones. The worse thing about all videos is they are promoting the purchase of these Baby Monkeys. No matter where they are illegal and more places making it illegal. U-Tube is over run with these. If you love them so much stop exploiting them on U-Tube. I can see pictures and a few videos for home, family use like you do your kids and friends but not this out of control exploiting for profit.

      Remi The Monkey don't get me wrong... I'm a huge animal lover. I think Remi is adorable as a baby. It's just when they get older not so much. And I love monkeys and want one myself, but sadly they are not legal in my state ☹
