I had one ref who called me off sides when there was someone ten yards behind me. After we lost the game, he came and apologized to me and I wanted to tell him he could shove that apology and the score up his ass.
Not even funny how accurate this is!!! Especially the refs apologizing at the end.
I named my dog PK. After a Penalty Kick in soccer! OH YEAH!!!!!
Or you have the refs that favor one team... like Ill get tripped hard core and NOPE no foul but We could be at the half line and another girl slips on the mud and they get a PK... so many different refs...😟

The refs for the place I play indoor soccer at are horrible. One guy ate a burrito while reffing, another guy calls a foul the other way when clearly it was a pk for us, and my favorite call was when I chest the ball then I got called for a hand ball. the refs for outdoor aren't so bad until they make that one stupid call. One ref ref called me for shifting my weight getting ready to attack the ball after kick off. This same ref didn't even call a clear cut pk red card. The coach was so mad he threw his clipboard and hat onto the ground.

I like this guy. Our coach got 3 refs banned from doing varsity lacrosse in his first month as a head coach but all of them are blind and deaf so they needed to go. I ref youth lacrosse and I totally see the stereotypes

First of all I love your vids. They are so relatable. My dad is a qualified ref and loves critiquing the ref on how the did as he is a highly level than them so he thinks he is the the best ref in the world so embarrassing. Example: My Dad:Good job today ref. Ref: Thanks. My dad: You missed an obvious off side. You also need to work on your positioning but otherwise you did a decent job. This my dad telling the ref at my game how he did. Not ref dad just dad.🤐🤐🤐
I was playing a soccer game, I’m a sweeper and like to keep a solid line at the top which gives us so many off side calls in a game there were people 20 feet offside and they didn’t call it, and the second half we overheard the ref explaining to the side ref what offsides is
I’ve had bad instances with refs. I was a goalkeeper on my high school team. This was our playoff game with a team that had no class at all. One of the guys kicked the ball about 10 feet into the 18 yard box, which my instinct was to go out and grab the ball to defend the goal. So I picked up the ball while yelling “keeper, keeper.” Then I saw that the player wasn’t slowing down, so I sides stepped with the ball secured against my chest. Then the player turned and shouldered me in the top of my stomach which knocked me down and the ball went flying towards the goal. NO WHISTLE. I see that the player also was knocked down. Him and I both saw the ball rolling back towards the goal and both got up to chase after it. I saw that he was passing me and that I was diving distance from the ball so I dove. I again secured the ball against my chest on the ground with my back to the player, who came up and stepped on the back of my head. I of course let go of the ball to protect my head and the ball again rolled back towards the goal until one of the midfielders cleared it. STILL NO WHISTLE OR CALL. One of my assistant coaches yelled at the ref for like 5 minutes. Then the coach from the other team told him to stop being unsportsmanlike. So yeah that’s my little rant about refs lol.

This is so true! Some refs are just awful. I had a ref one time warn me to not celebrate to much or I will get penalized.

We had a ref in a cup final who disallowed a goal for no reason. We asked her why and she didn't answer we lost 4-3 😡
there’s always that ref that “accidentally trips and doesn’t see a goal”
and one time this older ref asked me in a game “what’s offsides?”

On Tuesday, we had a game at home and the ref was running down the sideline to watch the play and he completely tumbled over and did a somersault.
Championship game for my team and then refs didn't call a foul when someone literally shoved one of the forwards on my team. Then a girl slips in the mud on the other team, BOOM! Penalty and I get threatened for not agreeing with the call.

One time in our first game it was away at the end WE WON AND FOR NO REASON THE REF TOOK LIKE 20 POINTS AWAY FROM OUR TEAM FOR NO REASON!!! HE WAS *SO* BIASED

Our ref said that he has never used his cards and they have been new since 2 yrs ago and it all went down hill from there. The tried to do the thing whee they just stand in one place the whole time and make calls from there. it sucked.

I had a ref m last game for travel club soccer... We played away this game and we won 2-1... .
But he was such a piece of garbage. He would not call any hand balls at all. But when it came down to us. Every time I chested the ball... Hand ball.
So I was chewing gum during my game because my mouth kept getting dry so I popped in some gum. Out of no where he asked me wht kind of gum I was chewing and I told him "Trident."
A few minutes passes and there was a obvious handball in the box.... NO CALL so I raided my hand signalling a handball. Still no call.... He shouted at me telling me to put my hand down. So I raised both up and threw them down and said "Are you happy I threw my hands down?" And I got a yellow .-. JERK .

Michael Oliver: The man who always refs teams in the top 4 and is so bias towards them
FYI... unless you go sit for a 16 hour class every year(sometimes every season if the rules change) then do not complain about the refs. Not all of us are old and fat, I am 14 referee 18 year old games occasionally i run 50+ miles a week a lot of us play soccer too. i have had a bad day and ended u making bad calls I always apologize for that!!! Some things we witness on the field can be traumatizing though too. I was 12 refereeing a u12 boys game a player fell tripped another kid and kicked him in the head. Coaches and Parents come storming onto the field and got into my face screaming at me a 12 yr old girl. Not even two weeks ago i videoed a coach in a referees face threatening to knock him out all because he did not like one hand ball call the referee made(it was an obvious hand ball). So referees put up with a lot more than you think, just be patient with us even if we make a mistake.
