Your argument applies to 1/3 of Americans and there are other options as mentioned above.

It’s just an expensive and inconvenient proposition for most people and that’s what the market has shown.

But still that will get better once it's actually adopted. Remember the cost offset for no oil changes, gear box oil, etc there is a cost savings but it would have to be amortized over the life of ownership. It’s not THAT much of a savings in the long run.

You’re not meant to charge your EV at charging stations. Those are only for emergency cases, your on a road trip, you forgot to charge your car, etc. You’re supposed to charge your EV at home. This a stupid way to calculate the cost of charging your EV.
Charge point by my house does something like this except it is “first 2 hours ‘Free Parking’ and $0.14 per KWH, after the first 2 hrs it’s $3.50/hr parking and $0.14 per KWH Was fine for us, had a 2013 leaf with old battery, 10KWH usable so fully charged in that 2 hr limit
