    I had forgot about your rake. How wonderful to see it in action again. How easy it looks, easy on the back also and all that grass t use in the garden for mulch around the plants or in the compost pile, what a benifit!! What a wonderful addition to your tools for a beautiful yard like you have. You keep things so beautiful!! It looks better than any park I have seen. Wonderful work as usual from you. The rain has finally let up a little here in the Texas Panhandle. I finally got my fence up yesterday to keep my little schnauzer out of my garden area. I got the peppers planted last evening and this morning as well as some herbs. Will plant beans straight in the raised beds this evening when it cools off a little. I'm going to use the long stick and stake like you showed in your video to plant them. My daughter will come over in a few days to help me get the cattle panels up between the raised beds to use as a trellis between the raised beds for the beans, sugar baby water melons, small cantaloupe and cucumbers over the walkways. Carrots, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, bok choy (never grew this before) pink celery, and a multitude of other things in the center of the raised beds. I have a place picked out for corn and okra in my large homemade tomato cages in a flower bed so the puppy can't get them!!! Thanks so much for sharing your video, tell the wife hello, happy gardening!!!

    It's wonderful that you are SO handy and know how to maintain your equipment and improvise when you need to make things work smoothly. I wish I had level enough & wide open property to enjoy a beast like that Cyclone Rake! Grass clippings make great mulch and beautiful soil over time. Don't forget to leave some clippings in place every few mowings to keep your grass fields fertile and healthy.

      Sounds like you are almost there. I purchased a pine straw rake from titan to help with big cleanups and something like that will probably be needed in that area because I dont think cones would be good for this unit with all the sap. someday you will look back and wonder how you ever had time for a job. I've had that same Cyclone Rake for about 10 or 12 years. Can't imagine fall cleanup without it. I am surrounded by huge old-growth oak trees and it takes me about 12-15 loads (packed-full) to clean the yard each year in November. The oak leaves are kinda bulky and do jam up occasionally, especially with sticks as you mentioned. The engine still starts without any hesitation after a decade++. The two main problems I've had are 1.) the plastic used on the mower discharge bracket as well as the plastic vacuum housing itself are wearing our and/or cracking in places and 2.) both zippers that hold the fabric bag to the metal tube frame have broken. The plastic parts were ~$300 to replace, so instead I ended up reinforcing the broken ones where needed. And I've simply come up with other ways to hold the bag to the frame. Would still buy it again, even with a couple problems. Great value for the money.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      I use mine more for mulch in the spring. I get about 10 bags full of maple leaves in the fall and also spread them on the garden. It definitely is a great machine. Have you contacted them about the zippers? They should last as long as the bag. Thanks for watching.

    Love your videos. Snagged a smaller cyclone rake end of last year eager to get it going this summer. Watching this video with such a huge yard have you ever thought about pulling a second motorized mower deck like what I have an older 66" Swisher pull behind. I'm mowing at 105" wide. Obviously I don't have a Cyclone rake hooked up to either, but as far as bulk mowing it works fantastic. Mine is older and has a 20hp Briggs the newer ones only come with a 14hp. Harbor Freight to the rescue. Also, mine is a finish mower they do make bush hog style also. I a week or so I'll let you know how I make out installing my used cyclone rake.

      @bajagadget 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why not just put the cyclone rake on the zero turn instead? I'm sure you could modify the MDA you have. Worst case, just need a new MDA for the new mower. Love your yard and garden! I want to be you when I grow up and retire in a few years. @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      @@bajagadget Thet aren't rated for towing 500 pounds more then a couple feet and have no brakes. The kubota bx gets spun sideways at times with 4 wheels and an extra 500 pounds. Any type of uneven ground gets the rigid zero turn frame up on 3 wheels. Anyone that uses this behind a zero turn is crazy. Go for the DR type that isn't a rigid hitch. Thanks for watching.

Birds don't like to next in anything that is too exposed, and definitely not if it moves around. Try weighing them down with a weight suspended below them, and also raise them up by a few feet to make them more secure from predators who might want to eat their eggs.

    TY for this video. I recently bought a jd 1025r and I’m looking for a good leaf collection system at a reasonable price. The cr seems like a good contender but I have a few questions I hope u can help answer:
    1. How does the cr perform on a slope?
    a) In your video I see what seems to be a noticeable slope that runs along the road beside your property... how does the cr do on that slope?
    B) Our property has a slope on its border that varies from 6’-10’ in height, that runs for some 300’, and the slope varies from 15-25 %. When I mow that slope I often mow across this slope and have no stability problem. How will the cr xl perform if I mow across this slope and will it create any stability/rollover concern, if I mow across the slope with a hopper that is no more than half full.
    2. Is it easy to get the engine on and off the unit?
    3. Would you recommend using the receiver hitch or the 3 point hitch to pull the xl?
    TY

      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 do u put weight on the front of your tractor when using the cr along the road/slope?... or is it easy for you to control the slide without adding weights? TY

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the rear end slips and slides. It is a solid hitch. I don't even attempt that slope anymore as they recently raised the road a foot and made it steeper. Any slopes should be done starting with an empty bin and the engine is a splash lube so it shouldn't be used on angles.

    • @philk9948
      @philk9948 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sure there is far less play than with the 3 point. I do have Mr Hodges Stabilizer Bars though and absolutely love them. My old Toro 14.5 Hp tractor could pull my cyclone fine but couldn’t back up with a small load so invested in the Kubota and love the tractor and various implements. I will view all your videos. You do great work. Thank you for sharing and your prompt reply.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's always easy to change the hitch around later. My hitch keeps it close to the tractor that helps it maneuver in tight places but on the other hand I get a lot of exhaust fumes the way BX tractors pull engine cooling air from the back.

    • @philk9948
      @philk9948 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Excellent point regarding the exhaust. I do have the Curtis Deluxe Cab and it helps in that regard at least a little, I believe. It sure cuts down on the amount of dust from the cyclone rake. Far less play now with Hodges Stabilizers. Love your big (huge) yard but yes, a lot more work for you.
