Hi. My name is John. I just started fpv a month ago and didn't know about angle mode. Six crashes and ten packs later I've dumbed down my stock PIDS to .6 and have added angle and horizon modes. Carry on and happy landings.
Using LuxPoint controller it's very easy to turn down the accelerometers in Horizon a bit at a time until you're ready to go Acro. It gives you the feel of Acro and still allows flips/rolls. Not so boring as Angle.
Gimbal Guy New to fpv quad but not new to heli. Can someone explain horizon mode vs angle mode vs acro and how to set it up on my furious Kombini fc and radio.
Only flying rate mode where available and a 3D addict, I don't use Angle mode but recently I've found Angle mode has it's place for 1s brushed micros (90-135mm), particularly in close, tight obstacle avoidance and actually allows more precision than rate mode. Any bigger or even brushless like the Tarot 130 and it's always rate mode only for me.
+59poppN That is my same exact thoughts on the matter, Acro will change lives.. LOL, kinda like the first time I put on goggles and made some fpv passes… Line of Sight was out the window.
Something I see missing from many of these videos and the comments when talking about rolls and flips is rates. Many beginners start their FPV journey using self level and stock rates. These are way too slow for flips and rolls in any mode. I won't delve to deeply in to this in this comment section as there is a lot of information out there if you go looking for it.
+calzaggii22 I don't really understand the question, but the flight mode will be assigned to a 3 position switch which can be acro, horizon, or angle.. which angle is self leveling, this can be set up in clean flight or in the vortex's on board wizard.
Gimbal Guy sorry i should have been more specific, in angle mode the quad will be limited to a set angle when flying, i was wondering if this angle can be changed and if so how? Thanks
If you are using cleanflight, your max angle and self level settings are just below the PID numbers on the left. There';s Horizon mode too which gives you a mix of both which is great to help start flipping and moving towards rate mode while still having self level.
Under the 'modes' tab u can assign flightmodes (angle, horizon, acro) to aux channels. Every switch on your transmitter is an AUX channel so u can assign the flight modes to almost any switch u want. If u dont assign a flightmode, the default mode for that aux range will be angle mode. But, not wanna be rude, if u need to ask a simple question like this, Cleanflight problably isnt for u. ;)
Gaat Jenietsaan cleanflight is still for everyone, they just need a getting started guide because nobody ever knows where anything is or what to change first
now doing flips. will it set right side up like flip and land and keep flying or will it flip and be upside down until you do a full flip manually? in acro.
I fly both, and honestly its harder to Race in Angle (IMO).. you are always fighting the sticks to find a common angle that the quad automatically wants to return to center from.. Look at the cornering in my Racing IN Angle mode video.. Not smooth at all... But to each their own.. Thanks for watching.. Safe N Happy Fly"n
a hybrid of both, you can fully flip and role but after the sticks are released the quad will eventually level, timing of leveling after input is et in the pids
+Ariqkamil Nugroho No its not, everyone has to start somewhere.. if you fly line of sight and just ease into Acro mode without googles on.. fly around a bit using pitch & yaw and figure out the feel of the craft in Acro mode you will be just fine, just member there is no set angle at which the quad will stop as in angle mode so just lightly tap the sticks and when you have reached the pitch you want you can let go of the stick and the quad will hold that pitch until you make other stick inputs, a lot less stick work then flying in angle mode, just find a wide open space and try it out.. you will learn to love it.

+Billy Clark I would def recommend a pilot easing into Acro by first flying in Horizon and getting comfortable with flipping and rolling their craft.

I remember watching this when I would only fly los stable now flying for acro is amazing

I wanted to start arco on my Tiny 90 but very hard to control in small room in acro+air mode
once I started acro it was like what I was thinking flying in level modes but ig u have to start somewhere lol
+59poppN That is my same exact thoughts on the matter, Acro will change lives.. LOL, kinda like the first time I put on goggles and made some fpv passes… Line of Sight was out the window.
+Gimbal Guy lol yepp same exact thoughts when I started flying fpv
which googles do you wear?

Nice video, how do you change the angle in angle mode on cleanflight? Thanks

Great flying
now doing flips. will it set right side up like flip and land and keep flying or will it flip and be upside down until you do a full flip manually? in acro.
Logan Schultz you have to do the full flip manually.
gotcha thank you so much for the reply!!
Yeah, where ever you release the stick is where the craft will stay in acro mode. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
oh okay thanks man and your welcome!
Acro indeed
Old vid....new post
Acro=freedom
Angle=control
yep acro only i started on acro it was with micro 3d helis even started my fpv adventure on it
to be fair you look a lot more cautious on the turns in acro. nice flying though
Yeah this was a while back and I was just really getting use to flying in acro. Thanks for tuning n and checkout some of the new flight vids.
Good flips
+sibiu1 Thanks.. really just started doing flips while flying fpv.. usually just do them line of sight.. Safe N Happy Fly'n!!!
Acro definitely looks better
Happy fly'n bro..
I'm just learning ) Acro looks better ) almost same speed and more stable.
Was that a 3 or 4S?
+Federico Trostchansky 3s on 5045s Bullnose Gemfans
3s can do that? Wow
Angle - boring to you but in still crapping it! ;)
Graham Wilkinson i fly angle. no interested in flipping and rolling just fast racing😎

You have pretty smooth pitch flips and rolls
come si imposta acro su betaflight
there is something wrong with this video, it has a kind of start-stop stutter to it like missing frames.
Must be your connection.. it plays fine on mine.
What about Horizon mode? Is it the same as acro mode?
it's an angle mode that permit you to do flip you stuck the pitch forward or backward, but after that it stabilzes your quad
a hybrid of both, you can fully flip and role but after the sticks are released the quad will eventually level, timing of leveling after input is et in the pids
Acro vs air,
Nive video, but if you put music, remove the volume from the camera its very annoying the sound of the drone
to some.. but others want & need to hear how the motors are performing in different modes in corners and acro stunts
nice comparison, but the video was kind of stuttering, couldnt watch it to the end :D
what is acro mode?
+Gimbal Guy just like I turn off the gyroscope right?
+Ariqkamil Nugroho Acro mode, is were there is no self leveling allow the pilot to fully flip & roll the quad all the way over.
+Gimbal Guy I think its dangerous for the beginner just like me
+Ariqkamil Nugroho No its not, everyone has to start somewhere.. if you fly line of sight and just ease into Acro mode without googles on.. fly around a bit using pitch & yaw and figure out the feel of the craft in Acro mode you will be just fine, just member there is no set angle at which the quad will stop as in angle mode so just lightly tap the sticks and when you have reached the pitch you want you can let go of the stick and the quad will hold that pitch until you make other stick inputs, a lot less stick work then flying in angle mode, just find a wide open space and try it out.. you will learn to love it.
