Just ordered the Ventura 1.4- a 4/5 week wait but can’t wait to get out there and use it. I’ve only got a Ford Kuga so they set up won’t quite be as good as what you all have, more like plastic storage boxes and plenty of rummaging around!!!
Get out there and enjoy the great outdoors pal 👍🏻
@@MonkeysUncleDubzClub I was eyeing it up for weeks, shown my lad your video and he can’t wait to get “up on the roof” as he put it!
@@mattbutcher6358 👍🏻😆
Looks like it could do with a longer extendable ladder . I had to get one for my Ventura on my 90 .
Hi Nathan, I have just bought one of these today and have ordered the extended ladder for it, my defender has a 2 inch lift, so is the longer ladder needed do you know??
Cheers sean
Yes you'll need an extended ladder mate . Apparently Will @ Ventura does stock them, but I just bought a 2.8M telescopic one off ebay when I changed mine.
@@seancummings9908 Just reread your comment , yes the extended ladder you've ordered will be fine mate .
cool tent, and great Land Rover
Do you have to keep those internal ropes attached across the whole time?
No just when it’s being collapsed for travelling
Hi iv just ordered one but can't get in touch with the company to ask...once its fitted are u meant to leave it on ur vehicle all the time or store in between holidays?
Personally I’d leave it on, as I go away a lot camping. One of our other club members leaves his roof top tent on all year round, that’s on a VW Caddy
@@MonkeysUncleDubzClub ok thank u..im not likely to camp over winter so maybe il leave it on from March til October then store over winter.. Great vids, thanks!
Would this fit on a Mazda 6 estate?
Yes it does ive just put one on mine.
The Ventura company is a scammer,we lost 1,400 in one that they never send us anything nor the refund
Oh no that’s not good sorry to hear that 😱
He made that look complicated.
Only second time he’d tried it out to be honest
That Looks a good bit of kit !👌
👍😎
After waiting 6 weeks, I got mine fitted and went for a night on the roof. This tent was obviously somebody's reject but I decided to keep it. Very poor quality control from the manufacturer as we added 6 more Velcro tapes just to hold the entrance. Mattress is soaking wet so hauled it out to dry and let the tent air dry. Had hoped it would be better. D
Oh no sorry to hear that pal, hope you got straight back on to the manufacturer’s? 😢
Good doggo
How do you put porch on do you have to unzip the travel canopy?
The whole thing just zips up all the way round easily, just attaches all together 👍
@@MonkeysUncleDubzClub thanks so you zip it to the cover zip?
Hi, also looking at a similar set up for my Defender 90. Any ideas what make the roof rack is? Thanks
I’ll check with our club member and let you know pal
Hi Arran it was from company called direct 4x4
@@MonkeysUncleDubzClub Great thanks, I thought it may have been looking at the style. Many thanks for coming back to me
What's used to give it extra waterproof coating? I just got mine, still to try it out but think coating it may be a good idea!
There are special waterproof products for tents, but to be honest in the past I’ve found you have to reapply them every camping season
@@MonkeysUncleDubzClub so would you just not bother then? 🤔
@@yvonnegraham4883 honestly I’d try it out first then see how you go, check with the manufacturers website as well. If it doesn’t hold up well after a downpour then try some coating
I’ve just bought one, yet to fit it.
The company recommended putting the tent up then soaking it to let the fibres expand, especially round the stitching and letting it dry 👍
