Luka sees a guy ground out once " He was definately not known for his hitting" Luka, the VERY BEST hitters in baseball only get a hit 3 out of 10 at bats, so you fail 7 out of every 10 at bats, even for the best hitters, so when it says he has a .230 batting average, it means he gets a hit 23 percent of the time, which is not that good, but it could be if he draws a lot of walks and hits for power but baseball stats are very very complicated

    • @davidlefkowitz4386

That game went so late my kids (2 and 5 years old) I had to wake them up to experience something multiple generations never had the opportunity to do. See the Cubs win a World Series. 1:47 the big head in the crowd is Harry Carey, the announcer for WGN Cubs television. He was just as much a part of the team as any player. Very beloved.
4:50 The lovable losers. Might not win much, but, the Cubs have one of the most loyal fanbases of any team in any sport.
13:13 there is a runner on first base. Then the batter hits a HR. the runner on first counts as a run, and the batter himself counts. therefore, 2-run homer.
16:33 Bears are NFL, Cubs are the MLB

Cubs are a team that people see in movies and such... Ferris Buller's Day off... Back to the Future Part 2... Blues Brothers (well, Wrigley Field anyway). It's obviously a very old team so it has quite a bit of history to it which often means people recall hearing about them who otherwise aren't baseball fans and it's one of those team names that are quite easy to remember since it's pretty unique. A running joke for a very long time was when you'd fly into Chicago, someone might look out the window at Wrigley Field (their stadium) and say, "Hey look, you can see the Cubs losing!"

You probably hear a lot about the Chicago Cubs, along with the New York Yankees, because they are like the Manchester United of baseball -- they are the most well-known teams in the league that people around the world have.heard of for some reason even if they know nothing about or have no interest in the sport.

If you’re gonna do baseball curses and them being broken, then you neeed to watch the 2004 Red Sox playoff run. 2nd longest drought in a baseball mad city perpetually dominated by their NY rivals. Including getting sent home in game 7 the previous year. Just an insane display that had the Red Sox coming back from a 3-0 lead against the Yankees and breaking the curse.

I've been a cubs fan for my entire life, I watched 100 games a year for 20 years before this moment. My grandfather lived his whole life as a cubs fan and died at 85 never seeing a world series win.

Planned Development #108 belongs to Wrigley Field.
The movies Taking Care of Business and Back to the Future Part II both feature the Cubs winning the World Series. Both movies are 108 minutes long
The cubs won in the 10th inning with 8 run--108
The distance from the foul poles to home plate at Wrigley Field is 108 meters.
Cubs pitcher Jon Lester was born in Tacoma, Washington, the 108th largest city in the United States
The lawsuit that allowed night games at Wrigley Field is recorded in Volume 108 of Illinois Reports.

My father, who was born and raised in Chicago remembers vividly when he used to live just a few blocks away from Wrigley Field in the 50s, used to walk to the field and sit outside listening to the games because they couldn't afford a ticket. When this game happened, it was one of the few times I have ever seen him cry when they won. Even though I am a die hard Cardinals fan, I couldn't have been more proud of the Cubs at that moment.
