I don’t have a favorite African American historian persay, BUT I do have a favorite inspirational African American. That person is …….. Rosa Parks. It is probably so cliche of me to say that because she is famous, and just someone people think of on the spot. But, I have learned so much about her, and read so much about Rosa Parks that she is becoming more of an inspiration rather than just a regular person to most people. It isn’t the fact that she stood up for black people’s rights, she started a revolution. She made such a huge difference, and that’s on PERIODT! She a queen and everyone knows it! ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
As a Canadian I have to mention Viola Desmond. Her bravery in directly challenging segregation is inspiring. Being able to see her on the $10 bill means that young girls in canada can have a figure to look up to from their own country, that made a difference standing up for human rights. Love the videos!! Can’t wait for more💗💗
I mean I don’t know if she would count as a historian but miss Kitty Black Perkins was absolutely iconic for her work with Mattel. Thank you for making such great content!
OMG I NEED TO WIN THIS! I’ve been following you ig account for a while now and you’re so fun! My favorite historian Malcolm X because he was an O.G rebel. He spoke with such conviction. He taught me that if you’re not careful someone else will try to write your story, he also completely restructured the way I view black women. I grew in the early 2000 and lot of my favorite animations didn’t have the cool black girl hanging out. That changed the way I create characters/ stories about The black experience in a way that is authentic... also I never had my gown BRATZ doll and I’m planing on starting my collection but I’m investing in live since Chucky and Tiffany dolls from the child’s play franchise, then I’ll add my Bratz! 🤓😍🤓
I absolutely love your style! 💛My favorite Black Historian is Ava Duvernay. She is the first Black woman to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Duvernay is an amazing storyteller and I think she is really inspirational as she shows that anything is possible.
Mines is Dr. June Jackson Christmas shes a psychiatrist and she was the first African American woman president of the American Public Health Association in 1980. She was also one of the first to adress the impact of economic and social factors on mental health. I feel like she’s really important because in the black community mental health is often ignored.
My Favorite black historian is Dorothy Dandridge! What i love about her is that she was an actress , singer and dancer!! She is also the first African-American film star to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress because of her performance in Carmen Jones! I love to act , sing and dance and she shows me that you can be anything and still be black so that’s why I love her so much!!
My favorite black historian has to be Martin Luther king jr, I loved that he made it clear that it doesn’t matter if ur black or white we are all human and should stand together as ONE !
NGL, even as someone who isn't that big into Bratz, I can't lie, I need that Felecia in my life like yesterday! XD Anyway, I'd say my favorite Black Historian is Floyd Norman. One of the first black animators in the American animation industry & the first black animator to work at Disney. I just discovered him recently. And as a black person who hopes to get into the animation industry myself one day, his story is honestly quite inspiring.
My favorite black historian is most definitely marsha p jhonson a woman who fought for what she believed in and was silenced by the people who feared her power!!
Just to keep it doll oriented,I want to mention Kitty Black Perkins. She designed for Barbie for over 25 years and created the first “Black Barbie “ in 1979! Perkins also designed the Brandy Barbie dolls,Shani and Friends, etc. Her impact on Mattel and early 2000s fashion dolls will remain iconic to me
My favorite Black Historian is Ruby Bridges. At only six years old she experienced so much hatred and cruelty for simply going to school. I can only imagine how terrifying and difficult it was for her but I really admire how she did not let those racists get the best of her, and in result she strived for greatness and is very successful. Learning about her experience taught me that no matter what people say or feel it is important that I embrace my race.
My favorite black historian is madam c.j. Walker because she was a very talented innovative black woman who ran her own business making products to help her people!! A true hustler and a great example of black women doing what they do best…..being themselves🤪!
You are going to be huge one day soon I promise you that and I can't wait to see it I'm your biggest fan already sis keep up the good work. Congrats on your channel
My favorite black historian is Mary McLeod Bethune because of her passion for education and civil rights, especially education and freedom for black Americans! 🖤❤️💛💚
I love her! My favorite Black Historian has to be Martha P. Johnson! She knew she had to take a stand for the rights of more than her own but her fellow LGBT+ people, something that still inspired us today!
Lovely content as always ☺️ Viola Desmond is my favourite black historian! She is from my tiny hometown and actually was just recently featured on our Canadian $10 bill! Her story is very similar to Rosa Parks, only she refused to move in a theatre. She is often called the “Canadian Rosa Parks” even though her act of bravery was 9 years earlier than Rosa Parks and I think this is partially because she isn’t as well known outside of Canada. So if you find yourself a purple Canadian $10 bill you may just have this woman’s photo and a piece of history! (I saw the giveaway was not international so disregard as an entry but still hope this woman gets some recognition!)
Not the fabulous miss Brandy matching Felicia in style 💛🙌🏻 love it! Great video 😊 Unfortunately as I haven't joined instagram yet, I won't be able to enter yr giveaway, but I'll gladly share my favourite black historian, and that is Martin Luther King, who believed in a vision of equality and freedom, two things I strongly stand by too 🖤 Happy Black History Month Brandy x hugs
I have holiday felicia i git her for Christmas and i tried to give her a restyle and let me tell you i did everything to untangle her hair but no success i sadly had to give girl the snip snip treatment and it looks better now
i don't know if tina turner fits the category of historian , but she's who I'd like to mention due to how her being is living history & all of the contributions to music that she's made
Omg I have Her on my Amazon wishlist cuz I really wanted her for my birthday but sadly no one payed attention to the list 😅😔 I really want her she’s soo pretty so ima have to save some money n see if I can get her before she’s sold out 😇 My favorite black historian is Marsha P.Johnson just because for the LGBTQ community she stood up for us I can’t imagine all the horrible things people went through in the 80s but she stood up for us n was a Major part of the Movement for us today to be free to love who we love n even though there’s still Homophobia out there we are still free n able to do a lot more than what we use to in the U.S 🥰🥰🥰
My favorite Historian is Katherine Johnson i love women empowerment, and even more when they demonstrate that intelligence is one of the biggest weapons 😌❤️
Yay a giveaway! 😁 My favorite Black historian is MLK Jr, not just because of his leadership in tackling segregation and racism, but also because of his (often glossed over) radical views surrounding anti-militarism and anti-capitalism!
I haven't seen anyone mention her yet, which is a shame. But my favorite black historian has to be Harriet Tubman. Despite the difficult circumstances. She fought against all odds, helping many enslaved to freedom. Even outside of black history month she deserves to be acknowledged for her contributions.
You're easily become one of my favorite doll channels because nobody has your energy and brains! I'm so grateful for this giveaway opportunity, so here's my entry! My favorite Black historian is Ida B. Wells! She was ahead of her time by advocating for proper Black representation, urban reform, civil rights, and anti-lynching. She founded the National Association of Colored Women's Club. She even was ostracized due to pointing out the privilege and discrimination white women expressed during the women's suffrage movement. (Also, I copied and pasted it from my Instagram comment.)
This is my admission for the giveaway, my favorite black historian is Rosa parks, what I love about her is that she’s honored in America because she was the First Lady of civil rights and a mother of freedom, she got that because she wasn’t ashamed of the Color of her skin and she wanted change and her hard work got what she wanted, so I look up to her to not be ashamed of my race and don’t give up on what you believe. I hope I can still be entered in the give away I unfortunately don’t have Instagram but I am subscribed and always like you videos
Hey not to be rude but your audio in your videos do tend to sound quite muffled so if you could possibly do something about that i know personally i would enjoy your videos much much more.
