Hey there, I love yer style of demoing, you straight up walk through it from the start, yer totally demonstrating the experience of using the module(synth-whatever, when you start building a big stupid stack of these Behringer machines it just becomes one big monster). You aren’t just going down a checklist of capabilities, yer showing how it PLAYS, then you end it with a killer jam, I really dig it. You get the feeling that the people who shit on these Behringer desktop mods don’t really make MUSIC. Like, they top out at $400(which will inevitably drop, the Neutron was $300, then durring Covid and the year that followed they were less than $250, now they are $400, that’s why I’m holding out on the Proton, it will drop soon), so say you want a big big sound you can grab a Kobol, K-2 and a Cat, and yer spending as much as just one top end modular oscillator.(and yeah, I’m a sucker for modular, always on a payment plan somewhere..). So yeah, I love my insanely expensive rack but for straight up playing, making fucking music, I whip out my stack of Neutrons(the Neutron is so strange and boss, I love them so much and they are among the cheapest pieces of gear I own). I would love to see you do a straight up, top to bottom demos of all the modules/synths Behringer makes-like right now I’m having a savage GAS attack, it’s either the Kobol or the K-2, I love yer K-2 jam but I’m wishing you had a demo up so I could see the workflow in action.it would be great to see you cross-modulate between 2 of yer Behringers, I do it with my Neutrons and get some wild results. You get it. You know, I'm trying not to be JUST a channel that reviews Behringer stuff, but they make it so difficult sometimes with these prices. I can't help but buy em! Yeah, I don't understand the Behringer hate, from the "it's not a real synth" perspective. I get a piece of gear that I'm excited about, and if I'm able to make a jam video with it, it's most likely a keeper. If not then I'll probably sell it. I was actually planning on maybe doing a "free style jam" sometime using whatever I happen to have at the moment. I'm getting into some Eurorack stuff too, and trying to branch out with other gear. So I probably will get around to doing something like that periodically. I'm quickly running out of things I own that I can review so I'm gonna have to get creative and start doing more out of the box topics and other types of jam videos and whatnot. Yeah... I'm gonna have to check out that Crave. I might want to check out some drum machines too. I swear I'm not TRYING to be a Behringer channel, but they just keep making such good cheap stuff.
Yeah, it's pretty different to the Neutron. The Kobol is easier to make sound good I would say... but not nearly as functional as the Neutron. The Kobol is like a really nice fitted suit whereas the Neutron is like a really nice winter jacket with a bunch of pockets. That's the best analogy I can think of. idk
I don't think so... I've been trying to find out how they managed to get it so close to the original VCOs and I can't seem to find a clear answer (from what I hear they did a pretty good job with this clone)
